  • i always cry during this because i know disney messed up after this like the sqeuel for example.

  • I completely forgot about this music but somewhere in my memory it all came flooding back to me. I'm sobbing- that was so unexpected, LOL.

  • ''Ill always be with you forever'' Q.Q

  • and now we've grown up...i'd give anything to live again one of my pure moments then..where everything was fine...

  • it just makes you sob.

  • The entire track is beautiful, but as soon as it hits 3:30 I start to choke up!

  • proud to be a 90's kid

I should make a shirt with that slogan...

  • @paintsketch I would wear that shirt :)

  • this describes my life..

  • This IS my childhood.

  • Whenever I hear this song tears well up in my eyes even when I'm happy =D

  • "If I never knew you, if I never knew this love, I would have no inkling of how precious life could be."

  • im crying! omg this song is so sad!

  • Time to get out my vhs tapes. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

  • 3:56 let the goosebumps begin

  • thank u

  • POCAHONTAS MOVIE HERE I COME!

  • I really wished that they would at least use different names when they made this movie because it is so historically inaccurate that some of my friends have issues accepting that this isn't the true story. Don't get me wrong it is one of my favorite Disney movies but I hate to see the historical world tear it up.

  • @Freetazain : yes but disney has to make it different i suppose. 8( read fox and the hound. xDD that one was changed A LOT. apparently, copper was suppose to chase todd and todd was meant to drop down dead and copper was shot by amos because he had to go to a home. xP it's a messed up story.

  • i can picture every scene and hear all the lines in my head when i listen to this. only happens with disney movies ♥

  • This soundtrack is amazing.

Ok, let's just pretend thamt Pocahontas II never happened!

It would be so perfect without it!

This music is so beautiful, that makes me wanna cry every single time!

  • Alen Menkin was a genious! (I hope I spelled his name right.) They don't make songs like this anymore.

  • @ariesgal1991 Alan Menken and genius.

  • man 3:34 to the end always gave me chills. i was so happy when i heard it in World of Color :)

  • 3:07 to the end: my favorite part. This is pure beauty...

I loved the way Pocahontas ended, melancholy and beautiful and bittersweet... And it also proved that Disney wasn't just smiling little princesses!

And then Pocahontas II came out and ruined everything!!!

  • oh and Beauty and the Beast! Best Soundtracks EVER! Well Disney soundtracks!

  • I love how If I Never Knew you subtly plays throughout this song. It just makes me feel like they were meant to be.

  • ALAN MENKEN....A DISNEY GOD.

  • Tangled was good, but its nothing compared to Aladdin or Lion king......even this!

  • i actually really liked Tangled :) sorry so many of you guys didn't

  • someday, i hope to be a part of this company and be a part of the next magical masterpeice! and ill make something in honor of the 90's... :D

  • @Haley24x7 There are still a number of great fairytales yet to be told. I would love to see them do The Princess and the Pea or the Twelve Dancing Princesses. Good luck.

  • Oh God I think I'm going to cry. ;____; I love the old Disney! And Pocahontas why didn't you go with him ugh!! DDDX

  • from 3:08 all the way to the end is beast!!!!!!! I love Disney

  • Such goosebumps. It's heartbreakingly gorgeous.

  • Tangled sucked compared to this. These older disney movies are better than the pixar crap we get lately. DISNEY POWNS ALL!!!!

  • @thelinkluverno1 yea Tangled did suck, but Disney did make it without Pixar, they were trying to bring in the "new form of animation" which is 3-D animation and to be honest, the 2-D animation was fine on its own

  • 2:03-2:28, i hold my breath

  • sounds like the deleted song from the movie i love this movie so much and all the other disney classics!and i agree, but disagree with all of the rest of you-let me explain before you kill me!O.O but,im saying is that all of us like 40s-90s kids are truly lucky.we are the ones who grew up with walt disneys masterpieces.if this generation cant appreciate it,then they dont deserve to watch any of it.all who agree-well,you dont have to thumbs up,but it would be appreciated ;3 <3 all hail disney!!!

  • this amazing song inspired the whole ending of my original novel!!! such beauty and time put into almost 5 minutes of music. now this is what i call art.

  • absolutely beautiful! i cried listening to this, i wish disney still made films like this :(

  • 1:57 = Deep Love! <3

  • Why can't they make movies/soundtracks like Pocahontas anymore? Everytime I see this movie or hear this music, tears start appearing in my eyes. 2003+ Disney just doesn't do that anymore. For me, Disney started sucking after Brother Bear. That was the last Disney movie I actually got emotional from.

  • I think the reason why the scene in the movie is so emotional because of what is happening, while this powerful song is playing at the same time. It's almost as if she's about to get onto the ship, but she stops which makes it 10 times more emotional, cause they didn't end up together. One of the greatest endings for a movie<3

  • it''s sad and EXTREMELY powerful at the same time! something you dont see mix well anymore in music anymore only avatar [the film that ripped this one off BIG time] had music that was powerful and sad but that was in the middle of the film when the huge tree is destroyed by the mindless merc's

  • I especially love 3:08 to the end

  • Comment removed

  • I started tearing up T^T This is what music is. This is what Disney used to be. Thank God for Youtube so I could be reminded.

  • omg how beautiful!

  • I actually started crying listening to this.......it brought back so many raw emotions that I just couldn't help myself.

  • 3:17 till the end is the best part! <33333

  • that 1 dislike is obviously a mistake

  • CHILLS!!! seriously, its cold in here XD and the music is awesome too, so that doesnt help ^^

  • Damn you tears! I'm an adult now!

Man, this is one of the best soundtracks ever.

  • @NJaw90 Well, actually, being adult is all about being yourself and not being afraid to. Pretending to never cry is childish.

  • my childhood in 4:49 seconds ^_^

  • Pulls on my heart strings, there is just this sudden intense rush I get as the music picks up. Then I think of her standing on the cliff waving goodby and John laying in the boat doing the same and its so soul crushing that they aren't together. Anyway its on of my favorite music pieces that has influenced me a lot just by impact alone! Thanks for uploading it <3

  • i love how people mention Menken! <3

I sent him a letter and he gave me his autograph! :)

  • pumping up the volume until my ears are about to bleed, because it's worth it :)

  • I FUCKING LOVE YOU, ALAN MENKEN.

  • 3:50 onward always gives me goosebumps

  • Someone missed the like button because they were blinded by tears

  • Who remembers watching this ending and thinking "this is the best instrumental music ever!!??"

  • @sesshyforever21 Well when i was a little girl i probably didn't know what an instrumental even was.

  • @TheVaporeonrules234 HAHAHA LOL

  • @sesshyforever21 I cried. The Music fit perfectly for the scene.

  • @sesshyforever21 It still makes me as teary as watching it when I was 2 years old... <3

  • omg this is omg......soooooo my heart gets small really

  • 3:56=goosebumps.

  • chills!!!! I am freezing right now!!!! and it is warm outside!!!

  • Most of Disney's movie soundtracks ended with Happy Ever After, with the exception of Pocahontas, it ended with Farewell.

Definitely a sad ending but one of the most heartwarming, heart-wrenching and soul-touching movie. This soundtrack is made for the soul. No human can listen to this and not cry because I know I do...everytime.

  • @ginnychaik Hell yeah, I'm not human \o/

  • beautiful :) pocahontas is the best disney movie

  • No matter what happens, I'm always be with you. Forever <3

  • when you listen to 3:40 its not even just imagining youre running with her. its like i feel like in my heart and then i tear up because shes on the cliff watching as john smith sails away :'(

  • Ratcliffe is the one evil person I can think of who could dislike this moving piece of work.

  • I always get the chills while listening to this song!! MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • God I always get so emotional when I hear this, haha. :') I want Pocahontas in the next Kingdom Hearts, damn it!

  • Now THIS is what true Disney is! :) <3

  • I've got CHILLS and tears and a huge smile..!

    THESE are emotions!

    just love Disney!

  • @MyDexter91 : i got chills just before i say your post. xDD

  • Run with Pocahontas 3:40. Fantastic...

  • Okay, Gov. we get it. You dislike the natives. Now go home.

  • I love listening to this song/soundtrack because it doesn't necessarily give me that feeling of 'being a kid again', it's just powerful.

  • Disney sure as hell knew how to compose a song!

  • even this music has me sobbing. its truely magical how this story combined with this music can move people.

  • Each time I listen to this I imagine the scene when she is running to see him one more time!! ; (

  • this song gives me tingles down my spine XD

  • Swim Pocahontas! Jump off that cliff and swim for your life! Cancel that Godawful sequel out of existence!

  • @krystlerita Oh that movie was awful!!!!What a waste of money like and it ruined The whole thing for me!!!

  • @krystlerita I like to pretend that after the end of the second film, the original John woke up from it and it was all a terrible nightmare.

  • Oh Alan Menken, thank you for composing such moving and beautiful music that brings me back to my childhood in an instant. Thank you. <3333

  • No Dislikes>33

  • Am the Sherif and i ask you do you own this? and he reply's with " I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING" Hahahahaha!

  • Who gets goosebumps listening to this?

  • if john smith was asking me to come with him, i may not be able to refuse

  • SHE SHOULD HAVE RAN TO HIM!!

  • @ILUVLUCYDESI cept he was on a boat........motherfucker :)

  • @kilalarockssocks SHE SHOULD HAVE SWAM TO HIM!!

  • I love this song! From 3:08 to the end always gets me. So much emotion! It's brilliant. Why can't Disney movies have scores like this anymore?!

  • They just don't make disney movies like this anymore. It's sad... very sad...

  • I'm so grateful that I grew up in the 90s. I was 9 when I first watched Pocahontas in the theater. At 25 years old now, the ending still sends tingles down my spine and a slight teary eyes and I will not be afraid to admit I'm a guy. I will make sure my future childern get to enjoy all great films such as this from the golden era of disney.

  • @BeaconsFist dude, age doesn't matter. I agree with you, but I'm only 15 and I watch this just about every day. Pocahontas is a classic, man.

  • everytime I listen this it remeber's how it was when I was younger. It remember's me when I was younger, and when it was over I alway's wanted to see it again. my parents alway's had to stop. and now i'm older, I don't have my parents anymore. killed in a stupid car accident. I

t reminds me that I had say farewell to them. but then I think that I will see them again. Someday I will

this song brings so many memories back to me.

  • besides the lion king ending song, this one gives me major goosebumps!! and while she was running i was like go get him!!!!!! its so sweet!!

  • So beautiful, bring tears to my eyes

  • Whenever I listen to this, I close my eyes and picture a new ending in my head :P

  • sniff sniff... so beautiful...

  • First (or only) Disney movie to have a sad, bittersweet ending. But it was done so well. They should make more like this.

  • Alan Menken's music has always been able to make me cry and get goosebumps everywhere and this piece is no exception, tearing up already...

  • just watched it for the first time in years...i'm 18 now and it still evoked so much nostaglia and a bunch of emotions for me...timeless classic.

  • This song makes me love nature! =)

  • WHY DID KOCOUM HAVE TO DIE!? I HATE YOU THOMAS!

  • @SmileForPink yeah thomas was a whiny little bitch, but he came through in the end :)

  • @kilalarockssocks Hahah he was! And I guess he did, but honestly, there was nothing he could do to redeem himself in my eyes. Kocoum was my sexy, long-haired, paw-chested, hot warrior-lover and I want him back. Pocahontas didn't see his amazingness, but I sure did... <3

  • gave me goosebumps

  • around 4:00 is usually when I'm crying. Such a good movie, but sad.

  • At some time, I swear for life, I'm going to revive the 90's Disney. Full of passion, heart and meaning. I just CAN'T ACCEPT the fact that it's gone and I NEVER WILL!!!!

  • I still have Pocahontas on Video.

Always has been and always will be a massive part of my life.

All the CLASSIC Walt Disney movies will be, none of that Miley Cyrus crap.

This score is amazing, this is real music, it has meaning and passion in every note.

    MAKES ME CRY!

  • Dang it! 3:40 till the end always has and always will get to me! I love thisssss!

  • Now I can rest in peace.

  • its like listening to the whole movie in 4 minutes.

  • Damn, 115 likes and no dislikes? I believe that is the greatest thing on Youtube since the introduction of Youube to the world!!!

  • this piece is depressing, uplifting, and inspiring all at the same time

  • 3:08-4:42 always gives me the chills. I think I am going to go watch Pocahontas now, on video :P

  • this track.... well what i normall think to those people who comment saying this 'song has captured her heartbreak blah blah blah' I scoff, but this track has captured her heartbreak, especially when she runs to see of the ship. :)

  • I cannot listen to this without crying...I've tried and have decided to give up

  • I love this piece so much. Best and worst bit in the film!

  • Does anyone know how I can get this on mp3? Please help :(

  • @DarkMeow09

well i downloaden Dvd soft Free youtube to mp3 converter

that's how i put it on my mp3

  • I cried when I heard this :( this and I will never see him again

  • This gives me the shivers towards the end when i think of her running and over looking the cliff edge

  • 4:16 makes my heart drop

  • 0 dislikes. Everyone must have had a great childhood if there are no dislikes. Then again...it's Alan Menken. You CAN'T dislike him.

  • If my school band collided with the orchestra & we just played music from this soundtrack, that would complete my life

  • Just can't hold back the tears every time I listen to this piece!

  • Music that that can be sad but also very Beautiful at the same time. Music that can touch your Heart at whatever age. I'm over 21 and I still love Disney but Love BEAUTIFUL classics like these with AMAZING MUSIC!!!

  • damn every time i watch this movie, i cry at this part

  • Damn you Disney, why couldn't you let Pocahontas and John Smith end up together???????

  • @gracearivenbark i agree, why did she have to go with that other guy

  • @H3artsKiss

becuase in real life she marries John Ralhp, and they still need to keep her real history in it, but i wish they did end up together, in the movie that is

  • a wonderful masterpiece.

  • it's so magical. just hear the song and i can see the whole scene in my mind. lovely this song, sad but lovely

  • i love the ending...the voices arebeautiful

  • Never fails to make me cry.

  • The end of the song triggers the thought of them waving to each other in her way, when she's on the cliff top and he's on the boat... makes me teary every time! DAMN DISNEY

  • 3:55

  • omg! even the music brings a tear to my eye! brillent movie, very sad but beautiful ending!

  • omg beautiful! ive been looking so bad for all these songs! Thank you so much for posting these !!!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • THE ENDING TO THIS MOVIE TEARS ME UP EVERYTIME! DID SHE RUN TO THE CLIFF CAUSE SHE CHANGED HER MIND OR JUST TO WAVE GOODBYE???

    WE'LL NEVER KNOW!
