I have to say I find it very hard to believe that ONLY blacks stop and stare. As a black woman, who has lived in a variety of settings, I have experienced whites staring at me, or blacks too. ALL do it. You also say you are in NY, that is also hard to believe that in that mixed up city people would be staring. Black guy/white girl is not that uncommon to draw that much attention. Could it be that you are anticipating it from blacks and notice it more when they do it?

i live in the florida keys where we get more than a few people come from rural areas of the carribean. i love interracial couples but i've overheard a 16 year old jamician boy telling his friends how his mom wont let him date a woman that isnt black and he is perfectly fine with it. later in that conversion i heard him say in jamica, there are 2 reasons youll get killed: if ur a thief or if ur gay. this is sadly true. im not hateing on jamica, i love the place but that really bothers me.

You should google the Pew Research Center's June 4, 2010 article:Marrying Out. According to the survey Black 72% of Black people would be okay with another race marrying into their family. This number is higher than the 66% of Americans that would be ok w/ a family member marrying a black. In 2001 their was still a racial gap of acceptance with blacks being more accepting of IR couples than other races.

I don't think its a big deal but I have seen some couples, like if its a black man with his white girl or vs, the black partner will look around with such pride like that have a trophy. I live in the UK and more often than not the white woman will try to get attention from the passing black people, but her black boyfriend will hang his head down or pull away from her.

Interracial dating has become a huge fashion statement here. So many white girls absolutely hate black women but run around saying 'I love black guys'. These are just a few of the characteristics of a typical racist white girl these days...and a lot of black guys are with them.

I'm black and I have a white boyfriend and we went to a restaurant in City Island last night, and you know those restaurants are usually filled with black people. I NEVER have. I'm sure if there were 2 black men looking in each other's eyes, holding hands, the whole restaurant would have been staring at them like circus freaks.

Here in Latvia there are almost no people other than white people, thus I've only seen one interracial couple, and I didn't pay much mind to it, it was just like whatever, but it was my classmate's brother, technically he's mixed, but he's black and has a white girlfriend and the only thing I was thinking was is it weird for them, having an interracial relationship in a virtually all-white community.

I personally don't pay much mind to interracial couples, but I remember one time I was doing Chrismas shopping with my mom and in the parking lot we saw a young Black and Asian couple.
