At first I thought that was a show tank, and then I saw that he/she only had one anal fin and thought, "Wait, why would you enter a goldfish with only one anal fin, of coaurse they aren't going to win, goldfish have 2 anal fins." but other than that it is a very beautiful fish.
Used to have a pretty calico ryukin that looked sorta like this one. Misses him dearly there very funny very social fish. Beautiful fish vibrant color
this is a really pretty fish, and cute and all, but do they have to be so fat? Is it natural, and if it is, i mean no offense, not to the owner, certainly not to the fish and not to other keepers, I'm just not sure why they have to wobble around their tanks barely able to get off the bottom. lol again no offense to anyone, just wannna know...
well I did and I didnt find anything that made me think that this is healthy for a fish to be built like that, in fact I found a ton of information that said things contrary to that. I was not trying to cause trouble, so please don't get touchy when someone is trying to branch out their knowledge. I know that they are not fat, NOW, but then I did not. You shouldn't put someone down just because they are trying to cure their ignorance.
99.9% of all purebred animals are unhealthy--akc and ckc dogs, show cats, fish...anything. They are all INBRED to keep the qualities they are liked for in tact. So yeah, no pet you own is actually healthy unless it's a mutt or mix breed.
This is coming from someone who used to breed high quality AKC show dogs.
Ok, well then thank you for your input. I agree with you in what you are saying, I'm sorry. i thought your intonation sounded like you were attacking me. I must have been wrong. I really wasn't trying to hurt feelings, I was really just curious.
Np. You just can't go on the internet on the defensive. You also should research things you don't know about before you say things to people like breeders etc or just anyone who is a hobbyist. You'd hurt a lot of feelings or your own in the process.
No big work, sand in the filter dosnt destroy it, beacause its verry smal amouht of sand, good filters can handele that verry wel.
Fish are living beings, the need to have a as natrual as posible envorement, aldo the are breeds and verry domesticatded, the are stil goldfich, a bare tank is cruwl even in my eyes, al the have to do al day is wait for food, and swim round lokking for??? Plants go wel feeds them good food, the leave most plants alone
goldfsih do care the love to put sand in there mouht, and trew there gills, also smal substarte is suckt on, the loge to do that, plants are nice as wel, the have protection etc, somtimes a little bite of plant.
How would you feel if you live in a bare tank al day, fish get bored to deaht in those tanks, i no beacuase i had one before. Now i have sand and plants, the love it, much more active, nicere collors, more healty fish, not boreded. Just clean op your tank probely
Sand through the gills? That sounds like it would sorta hurt. I guess it depends on what kind of sand. I hope sand wouldn't scratch up their insides, sand can be jagged.
Sand is even vbetter, but i think this is a show tank, because it would be realy sad to keep a Fany goldfish alone in a smal tank.I no people say the dont need gravel or sand because in asia the dont do that, but aldo Asians love fish, the have a different moral of keeping animals, sand and plants provides them whit things to do,. keeps the fish happy and healty, just clean it op a bit more and the fish whil love it, its a lame exuse to say desiease grow in the bottom, just clean it up no probs
most videos you see from asia are in show tanks. Most taiwanese and japanese people that raise goldfish raise them and keep them in ponds and only put them in tanks for show. They hardly ever keep them in a tank as a housing enclosure. But we see them there, because that's where they put them to show them off. I have two koi bowls. They're solely for showing off your koi from a pond during a party or something.

goldfish don't care if you have a substrate in their tank or not. the only one that really cares is the owner. I wouldn't suggest sand because your fish can stir up the sand, and that could end up in your filter's impeller and destroy it. personally I like a bare bottom tank because I think it looks nicer and it's much easier to clean up after the fish. although substrate does provide a home for beneficial bacteria, but the same bacteria live in your filter. either way it doesn't really matter.
@bphidc446 xD @ suckal and no they do not Goldfish may Expell alot of amonia and shit which raises nitrite and nitrate but they have a thing about keeping there area leveled and clean
I would add some decorastions he seems bored. maybe some plants and rocks? Just a suggestion1 ;-) he seems happy tho... hes so chubbyfull and adorable!
He probably just bought the fish and is isolating him so he can make sure the fish doesn't have any disease. He wouldn't want to bring any diseases into his Main tank with all his expensive fish,
Fabulous!
