I got a 1.8 Ghz Dell D630 3 GB which does Windows XP SP3 in less than 5 seconds which is about the same as yours. Anyway my bios is about 3 or 4 times faster.. Making my computer somewhat near 10 seconds total boot so I got a much faster PC yeah.
Only because you asked for comments ... this is a fast XP boot indeed, but the video cuts out before XP has fully loaded. The OS load is complete when all the services have started. BIOS routines complete at 0:11; my guess is that services would have completed loading at 0:25 (assuming a vanilla install), so probably 14 secs.
lol i have 3 comps one vista, one mac os x, one win nt 4.0 workstation and nt boots in 5-6 secs, but i have to log in, which takes me 1 sec, because my pass is one symbol.
the 901 go doesn't, has a single 16GB one, read of about 90MB/s and writes of about 40 ish, though standard 901's have a 4GB and 12GB, which are both slow/very slow
Bios says you ONLY have the SSD plugged in and by the looks of it no programs installed either so not really proof under normal usage conditions of it being ultra fast.
Google I-Ram or even you tube it, thats faster then this. it may not be the same in your books as an SSD or HDD but it works in the same way and boots faster and u wanted to find somthing that booted faster.
I get 25 seconds with my normal hard drive. Just find services that you don't need within XP and disable them. I cut my time from about a minute to 25 seconds
sorry man you gotta get some other SSD, I'm sorry you spent a bomb on an SSD which is not really that fast at all. search for mtron in youtube, it rulez.
thanx for the head up man, my ocz (the new ocz ssd)read is ~130mb/s and write is ~87mb/s. its about the same read time as mtron, the boot should only be affected by the read right? mtron's write is like 120mb/s much faster than ocz.
i heard some rumors that mtron is releasing a 256gb ssd with 250mb/s read and write.
Evi1M4chine - Linux bios is one thing with reduced functionality, 10 seconds I can wait :)
All drivers for all devices, including graphics cards USB motherboard drivers were installed, basically under device manager all drivers loaded and perfect.
You should add some kind of "OpenBIOS" / Linux BIOS for a vastly decreased boot-up time (eg 1 second for the bios, 1 second for xp).
Oh, and how about telling us if you actually have installed and enabled a single driver. You know... because they take a huge about for their initialization nowadays.
NWT09 - yes on a laptop, no problem, they have one for that. The Mac notebook we have several of those, all running XP. I have never seen any of my colleagues run Mac OS on those .... not once.
7 seconds, damn it, mine's 31 seconds.

Is it possible to have one of those Imation SSD hard drives for a laptop? Maybe not as fast as yours but you know what I mean?
By the way... 5 stars for shutting all those stupid Mac users that feel so obligated to tell everyone how nice their Mac is... lol

Hello,
Hmm is that the new Imation SSD? Just out?
Thats pretty fast. But please; Zoom out; the watch doesn't show anything. How much did the SSD cost? Dollars/Euro's
Thanks.
