  • LOTUS:

    Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious

  • I would've guessed water in the fuel, OR, more importantly, a little-known option: the No Revs Over 6 Grand If The Moron Driver Is Holding A Camera feature. A no-cost option, considering that if you take the vehicle to an authorized service facility, they will have a factory-trained technician drive the car, and duplicate the problem, if it's as OBVIOUS as the stumbling shown here.

  • it's only because the temp is lesse than 85°

  • not seen one do that before.

  • looks like the car was not up to operating temp and you are hitting the 5800 rmp throttle cutout.

  • Nope. It was at normal operating temp. Go back further in the comments. It was the wire harness. Had to be replaced under warranty.

  • that would be a huge downgrade to a vtec! :p

  • it is your cam position and knock sensor had same problem with my car where in each gear let you reach only to a certain rpm and it wont let you go any further no matter how much throttle

  • that problem?

  • ehhhh... throttle position sensor? or cams/crank sensor? maybe the maf sensor but it looks to me like the TPS is reading wrong through the rev so it has no idea where the throttle is

  • it's a toyota engine. it shouldn't cost an arm to fix

  • @viktord1 Actually Toyota parts are some of the most costly. I guess it's because they are probably the most reliable car parts.

  • @lovesthebass

No way man! Compared to cars like BMW, audi, etc toyota parts are waaaaaaay cheaper. Even honda parts are considerably more expensive. (from my experience anyway) cheers

  • hey, question. I have a 1995 acura integra ls, and its misfiring only after the engine has warmed up and i give her over 1/4 throttle. she idles fine.Ive allready changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, coil, and fuel filter. any ideas on what could be causing a misfire?

  • i think its just your timing man.

    knock's what usually causes it.

  • Sounds/seems like a faulty TPS.

  • sounds like your low on gas

  • that wouldv'e been my guess

  • you have it bad, i've got it to a certain degree on my camry lol, mine is just due to the spark leads as 1 of the seals have begun leaking gettin oil in the leads

  • yeah we had a similar thing happen a fews months ago at my lotus dealership

  • My brother has the same problem. Check my videos to see. Has it happend to you before? It feels like the throttle is open and closed really fast causing a jerk.

  • Guessed you've checked the obvious?

    Spark Plugs/Leads

    Coil Pack

    Throttle Cable

  • It was the "harness." They had to replace the ENTIRE electrical "harness" under warranty, fortunately.

  • why is it doing that??? :S
