How so? I'd say the 7th book confirms it...

I think it both confirms and disproves. The second verse is confirmed: Snape loved Lily. But then, there are some lyrics that are ambiguous. Like "I have no need of friendship". He seems to have some good relationships with the Hogwarts staff, McGonagall mostly. And "I won't disturb this slumber of feelings that have died" is another iffy one, because Snape doesn't really deny to himself the feelings he has for Lily, but uses them as a motivation for doing good things.
