no the light with the brush on and handle down is a GREAT idea cause your basically using the hose what do you need the light for when your using the hose
@lovevacuums for the most part i can agree with that, because there aren't many times I'm doing any above floor cleaning in the dark, but the dumb part is it only works with the brush on, which is stupid if i'm using it for floor cleaning w/o the brush, when i still need the light
@lovevacuums I used to think that'd be a funny idea; have a switch to control everything on a vac. I would have just attached the light wires to the switch that controls the brush shut off when it is stood up, not attached to the brush motor as they did.
@Vacmasterthegreat it is hard where i live bc they changed the rules about trash pick up, the city supplied 2 cans 1 recycle and one trash to be put out and a truck with an arm comes and empties the cans in the truck, we cant throw anything else in the trash till a specific time of the month and it is only once per month
@thevacuumman5 actually they're following the trend. I get so many Bissells not because people hate them, but because they break every 1-2 years and people think that's great that they lasted so long(sarcasm). so they throw it away and buy another one just like it, also expecting it to last a year or two. It happens usually around the same time of year: early winter or mid-summer.
@Vacmasterthegreat teh seems like they are following a pretty foolish trend if they consider the life of a vacuum to be 1 or 2 years. I'll never buy a bissell sweep-up anymore after the stupid thing that happened to that piece of junk.
@thevacuumman5 trust me, that's how it goes and that's why Bissell and pretty much everyone else is still in business selling the vacs they do. otherwise, Kirby'd have some competition if they all made vacs that lasted a while. in fact, when I was in the vac store today, a lady brought in a concept 2. the vac guy asked what she had, and I said 'an antique!" and she says "this will out do anything out today!" and I said to her, I believe it, I own plenty of the older machine like yours.
@Vacmasterthegreat Completly true and I believe you. They sure don't make vacuums like they used too, just for the money itself and to stay in buissness. It's not just vacuums though, alot of other big product bussinusses do the same thing too.
@Vacmasterthegreat I think this vacuum morphed into the powerforce

This vac is very loud. Just like the DD Ultra handvac, an older Windtunnel upright, and a Hoover Steamvac V2.

@mariahcareyboy1996 brushroll issue. the ultra handvac IS annoying. windtunnels aren't too bad.

My bissell powertrek is almost 4 years old, and it still works like a charm. The only thing I don't like about it is the hose. It seams so cheap.

@stars1976 as I said to someone else, I usually get vacs in the winter months and late summer months, because it follows a yearly cycle around me!

@Vacloard90 we all have our downtime. I had a slow 2011 and now 2012 is rebounding.
