The only thing MMO's could benefit from in the unreal engine is the way lighting is handled. Other than that, it's best MMO stick with "shitty" graphics.

It's pretty obvious that Unreal 3 engine wasn't designed for these bland and sterile games. It's meant for weathered scenarios, warfare places, complex characters and monster and many action on screen with particles and fluids systems taxing the engine. For these kind of real-life-like graphics the Source engine is better and more flexible
