I found out how to fix it. I actually won the whole game recently thanks to it. You have to keep jumping (like in the video) or at least make sure ur in the air (from jumping) right before the elevator stops/ when the Loading screen comes up

@BeakyRed I think so too. One of the best songs on the soundtrack for one of the most intense scenes in the game so far, and it gets cut off. They should've fixed that in the re-release.

You moron, half life 1 came BEFORE half life 2, have you got that? They hadn't thought of the combine yet when they were working on half life 1. The combine soilders are one of the reasons why I hate half life 2. They were only in half life 2 because they couldn't still have you be fighting the soilders from half life 1 and they couldn't think of anything else.

First of all if you dont know someone Dont call them names secondly i know ive played both games it wouldve been more helpful to the humans cause if freeman wasnt going around killing Human soldiers, instead of Combine the game wouldve made more sense since what HECU has in this game is almost completely identical to the combine that was the point i was making sir.

@Mongoose123451 or, the vortigaunts were ON THE RUN from the Combine in THIS Half Life, a portal opened to Earth after the Resonance Cascade, the Combine waited and didn't go into the portal unlike the vortigaunts, and were introduced in Half Life 2

@Mongoose123451 Are you sure the combine hadn't been thought of yet? The back story for the [final boss] and the other creatures being in Xen is that they were forced to escape to there by some interdimensional empire, the Combine. Half Life 2 shows the consequences of Black Mesa: the portals attracted the Combine's attention, so they invaded. Not only are the soldiers not "only in half life 2 because....blah blah...anything else," but it makes total sense for them to be there.

@Mongoose123451 No, and a certain quote from Nihilanth creates an insight into the vorigaunts' enslavement by the Combine prior to the Half-Life series: "Their slaves...we are their slaves...we are...", "their" referring to the Combine. Thus, the back-story of Half-Life and Half-Life 2 are linked and premeditated.

@Mongoose123451 Although it IS true that all of the aliens in Xen are slaves to Nihilanth, I believe that your quote is a misunderstanding due to the garbled voice of Nihilanth in-game. The source of my quote comes from a transcripts of a sound file directly from Half-Life, and wouldn't this source be considered more accurate than the indistinct voice within the game?

@Mongoose123451 No. Originally, you DID fight the soldiers who ALLIED with the Combine. But, since you weren't in Black Mesa in Half Life 2, Valve thought there was no point and no story significance, so they scrapped the idea.

Breen: My guess is that because of his high position in the facility, its either because the marines were ordered not to kill hi, or he escaped immediately to safety.
Eli: He was just outside the test chamber where the madness started, which was probably where the Marines were heading, but they obviously couldn't get passed Freeman and all the monsters and, as we know, eventually pulled out.
Kliener: It isn't confirmed which scientist was Kliener (maybe?) so we don't know for sure.
