Those "gay scenes" seem gay because L grew up in a contained environment without friends. Light basically is his first friend so L didn't have any idea how much contact to a friend is or isn't appropriate by that time. He was pretty much like a grown-up (extremely intelligent) child. Aber about the gay fanart...if you've watched more than 2 anime you should already know that if there's 2 male chars in an anime fangirls will try to make them look gay.

@loitagrl12 Its a novel called Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. I bought it at Borders and I couldn't put it down. Its actually one of my favorite books of all time. You HAVE to buy it :D
