All Hollywood idiots and main stream media figures are brainwashed zombies. If you don't realize this, then you are brainwashed as well. Welcome to America "Land of The Living Dead".
Richard belzer is a motherfucker.Education doesnt give you immunity to ignorance so fuck him.Belzer makes most normal red blooded working class liberals want to fucking puke!Im so sick of these hollywood elitist acting like they speak on behalf of the working class american people. They are repulsive arrogant, self righteous, self loathing, ignorant, hateful, vengful, violent, selfish, and RACIST people in america.
There's very little people that have earned my hatred in this world. But Richard Belzar, Jane Fonda, and Sean Penn have earned it all because they hate our soldiers. Three actors that have gotten rich off the greatest nation on the earth and being defended by the soldiers they trash. I say we should make them fight on the front lines since they are they are UN-grateful communist pigs. As far as Belzar saying they cant get a job, Belzar almost didn't graduate high school. Dumb Hollywood Moran.
THE MOST LETHAL CANCER YOU CAN GET IS THE "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS" CANCER ! BEING "POLITICALLY CORRECT", IS LIKE SUFFOCATING IN YOUR OWN VOMIT ! THERE ARE NONE SO BLIND, AS LIBERALS, WHO DO NOT WANT TO SEE; THERE ARE NONE SO DEAF, AS LIBERALS, WHO DO NOT WANT TO HEAR: IT IS UTTERLY FUTILE, TO ARGUE WITH THOSE, WHO DEFEND LIBERALISM ! THE ONLY THING ONE SHOULD GIVE TO A LIBERAL PERSON IS A BULLIT IN THE HEAD, THAT IS THE ONLY THING THEY "UNDERSTAND" !
These soldiers are idiots; they believe they are fighting for "security", "democracy", and "free trade". All they are fighting for slavery, oppression, and imperialism.
I know someone who serves, and she has actual reason for supporting Afganistan other than "it's the right thing to do". If I'm going to pick up a weapon and potentially take another life, I better be damn well sure of the reasons why I'm doing it. I think Mahar is a bit of an ass, But Belzer makes a good point. Just because you are in a conflict, just because you see what's going on at the surface, does not mean you grasp the larger political game of chess that's at play.
@PaulGrantDesigns He is challenging everything about the war.If anyone knows whats going on it is the millitary & troops on the ground.Who cares what liberal rag news papers say.Leftist news stations & thier journalist went on for years about how they were hated by the civilians.99% of the soldiers said that there was some hostility but LARGE MAJORITIES of people were very thankful for the troops & the work they were doing.Belzer is way off base & shows what an asshole elitist prick he truely is
@jays2474 They obviously know what's going on, why do you think more soldiers have killed themselves last year than the number of soldiers killed by enemy combatants? Think about that
Nobody knows better than the soldiers who are there. If I'm in an orchard holding an apple. I do not need some moron thousands of miles away telling me it may be a pear or a pineapple and that I'm uneducated because I dont read their articles telling me it's a pear or pineapple. I know it's an apple.
I agree with the point that the military men and women aren't in a position to read, watch, or listen to independant news and as such, are not informed of contrasing views on the war. As such, they are less informed as they could be. I agree that many of them have not graduated from college often because of their age. I do not agree that they couldn't get jobs, many do have noble intentions.
Belzer may be one of the ugliest man I have ever seen, He is just mad at the world cause he looks like Eickabod Crane, Oh and yes he is a liberal POS just like Maher, If someone went postal on them the world would be a better place
typical liberal parasite... a filthy pseudo-intellectual that has the pretense to be believe he knows what's best for our soldiers than they do themselves... fucking lie-beral asshole he should be wiped off the face of the earth along with the sheep that make up Mahers audience
Actually, no one called them idiots. What they said was that many of them went in because they couldn't find other work. Whether or not that is true is certainly a mater up for debate. However, the person who POSTED the video certainly DOES assume that people who can't find work are idiots. Projection can be pretty sneaky like that.
(Also, you've at best picked a sample of two to illustrate your point. Way to go with the guilt by association fallacy, ace.)
what a tool bag, good job defending bill, I'll give credit where it's due. trying to say our service members are dumb is bullshit, i served for 5 years, and know a lot of smart people, the majority of those i served with, who served to be a patriot and to do their part, and put their lives and careers to the side for it.
At least soldiers are fighting for their freedom. I'd like to take that "actor" (what purpose do they serve in life again?) to Afghanistan and lets see how long he'll last. He's a fucking idiot and all actors and celebrities are too. They're fucking useless idiots and morons who got lucky with a lot of money. If I was that woman, I would have punched his fucking teeth out. Libtards are lucky to not meet me in my face.
Nut environmentalists, anti gunners, animal rights acitivists, socialists, secularists, hollywood actors, trial lawyers, queers, atheists, ACLU, NAACP, PETA, NOW are all just a bunch of tree hugging, flag burning, baby murdering, military hating pigs. They are the scourge of humanity and the scorn of any decent person. They are the root of nearly all our problems and the cause of so much hardship and pain for so many. It's truly disgusting that so few control the fate and well being of so many
@CattleRanch Why just the nut environmentalists, aren't all nuts wrong?
Actors, who do they think they are, really?
The whole point of religion is to find a meaning of life, the best result is when you actually find it. At least with an atheist you know they thought about it.
You are anti-socialist and pro-military. That makes a LOT of sense.
millions of old people who paid in about half of what they get out of Social Security refuse to work once they turn 65. Lower the age and you now understand the dynamic that will bring down Western Europe sometime in the former of the 21st century. The argument that American's are Materialists, not hardly Americans are far and away the most compassionate and charitable people in the developed world, we donate per-capita 3.5 times as much as the French, 7 times more than Germans,
Belzar is a idiot.. he is stating that people only join the military because they cant get a civilian job.. its a stupid statement and really reads into his mindset.
Our servicemen and women are idiots! How can they not see that they are fighting for Oil Corporations to increase profit in the game of obtaining infinite property!
If our soldiers truly think that going overseas and killing dirt-poor people is protecting our "freedom" then they are DELUSIONAL.
Liberals speaking for our heros is like the devil speaking for God. Liberals are the most evil satanic people in the world. These liberals don't have a clue, yet it is the military who pay and sacrifce only to be criticized by ppl like Bill Mahr.
@SilverFox466 The Devil doesn't exist. God doesn't exist. Therefore your argument is invalid. Liberals are evil? WOH WOH WOH I didn't know that trying to help the poor AND the lower middle class citizens is evil. Haven't you guys ever heard the term "Bleeding heart"? It's (somehow) a derogatory term to liberals who don't want to see innocents die, or get cheated. "Bleeding heart" is also a reference to Jesus Christ (i hate to bring up fictional characters) considering he was a socialist.
@LeBaronDePropane You refrencing Jesus is moronic first of all. You claim God does not exist so how dare you use him as an example. It is the individuals responsibility to take care of the poor and not the government. The larger the government the smaller the people. Your mis-charactersation of how people who disagree with you are haters and wish the poor would die is false. That is what the left do though - they use mis-charactersations and repeat it over and over again until it is believed.
@LeBaronDePropane What gets me - you say you care about the innocent yet your side pushes to kill the most innocent - the unborn child. As far as cheating the poor - that is another lie. I believe giving a leg up should be a moral responsability. Providing a life long distribution of money or forcing one to take their money and giving it to the government is immoral. If I give to charity - that is my choice. You should not dictate that I should give my money to a communist organization.
So you're saying that it's immoral for me to take your money? Doesn't that prove that your only reason to live is to die rich? That's all you idiots care about isn't it, money, increasing capital, living to work. Jesus Christ why can't you guys just live in the moment? Let the present dominate the past and future, not the other way around. God help your fellow man. Jesus didn't say to give as little as you want, he said "SELL ALL OF YOUR POSSESSIONS AND GIVE TO THE POOR"
@LeBaronDePropane My personal theology is my own. Your religion is progressivism. Again - you don't have a relationship with Christ, so I love how you all twist the truth about subjects you have no clue or knowledge about. You say Jesus is a fictional character yet you call him a socialist. He was the furthest thing from a socialist and you would know that if you actually read the Bible and understood it. Liberals in general are evil and it has been the left who will destroy America.
@SilverFox466 Jesus was a socialist, just as Holden Caulfield was a non-conformist.
Just that Jesus never lived doesn't mean that his story didn't. His story is the story of a Communist! Living a minimalist life and giving what you don't need to those less fortunate?! BLASPHEMY!!!!!
I know i don't have a relationship with Christ, his plan is to ensure the suffering and death of everyone i know and love.
Hitler wasn't a liberal. Satan never said to "give to the poor". You're just plain illogical.
@LeBaronDePropane To top everything off: you are a communist. I don't waste my time on communists. If you think communism is so great then leave the US. Freedom is rare and somthing that should be embraced. It is people like you who scare me because you want to take away my freedoms. Communism has killed more people in the 20th century than any other movment. Mao alone killed at least 75 million people and you call that moral. Your ideology is flawed and you worship these people. Nice.
@SilverFox466 COMMUNISM HAS KILLED MORE PEOPLE IN THE 20th CENTURY THAN ANY OTHER MOVEMENT?!?!?!?!?!
REALLY?! TRY CAPITALISM: Every murder over property, money, or land since the beginning of HUMAN HISTORY has been a result of capitalism. Therefore, Capitalism is the biggest killer.
I don't 'worship' anybody. The Communists of the 1900's were nothing more than Corporatists veiled by Socialism (no different than Hitler). My ideology isn't flawed. I live day to day with nothing more than i need.
A liberal talking about? LOL! as a communist, i denounce the liberal movement. It's purely bourgeois, in STARK CONTRAST (sarcasm) to the aristocratic conservative movement
Fact: Over 1 billion killed by capitalism
Since 48,000 BCE, humans and their property have existed. Every death in the name of property whatsoever, has been a result of human greed and capitalism. More than 50 billion men have walked this earth, and a large portion of them have been victims of robbery.
@LeBaronDePropane Your definition of capitialism is flawed and made up. What you are talking about was goverment controlled land and property. It sounds more like dictator controlled government, and communisim. Thanks for proving my point. Capitalism began in the late 19th century.
@LeBaronDePropane Actually the bloodiest ideologies in history are Darwinist, like communism and Nazism. Which religions and mantras are you thinking about. Not a billion not even close.
Wait, so you're saying that Darwinism, the belief that all modern organisms came from the same origin, you're saying that that ideology has gotten people killed? You like being force fed your facts don't you?
No one said that 1 specific religion resulted in 1 billion deaths. From the beginning of time (i said the same thing about capitalism) there has been religion. Any time people killed eachother saying "my religion's better than yours" it's been in the name of religion.....
@LeBaronDePropane Not Darwinism as scientific law, but social Darwinism as ideology. See the distinction? Also, when you consider how small populations were in the Middle ages and before, (when religious wars and murder were in their per-capita heyday) you realize there's no way it could be a billion people even if you count every crime ever blamed on religion or excused by religion.
First, point taken. Second, really!? Also, can you count something as a historical fact if it took place in Pre-history? Further, if there is no large organized society and there wasn't 5000 BC, much less 48000 BC how could there have been organized religion?
@suspicious35 Ah and that's where i'm right, i never said anything about "organized society" or "organized religion". Capitalism refers to capital, land and valuables, which have always existed, even since we were primates. Every death in the name of land or valuables has been a result of Capitalism and human greed that would be at least 10-30 billion lives. About the religion part, well, sacrifice, religious wars, it has to have added up to about 1-4 billion if not more.
@LeBaronDePropane Again where do these numbers come from? And wouldn't a murder to get hold of a someone else's property be a death caused by socialism? Sounds like redistribution of wealth to me. I would also point out that by definition you can't have a war without an organized society. Would you consider the 27 million Soviet killed in world war 2 to be deaths by Capitalism? The war was over land and valuables. Even if the spoils (mostly) went to state coffers
Socialists do not seek to redistribute property, but to make property public. Anyone who thinks that the Soviets were by definition communist, is retarded. America has more aspects of an ideal Communist State than any 'real' communist state has ever had.
World war two was fought over land and valuables? You're schooling me here, but yes deaths in the names of Capitalism.
@LeBaronDePropane Who's property public? If you look at socialists from Europe to New England who's money do they take? Rich people's. And who gets it? In America it's mostly the farmers, teachers, auto-workers and old people. In Europe, well, that list would go waaaay over my character count.
@suspicious35 Lol, now you're trying to victimize rich people? I admit, before you can eliminate property, you have to redistribute it equally. But what's bad about that? How can you possibly think there's something wrong about taking money from men who sit on their ass all day, and giving it to people who do physical labor? If the rich were doing that on their own, they'd be benevolent philanthropists, BUT THEY'RE NOT, AND THEY NEVER WILL BE.
@LeBaronDePropane Because the welfare recipients sit and do nothing all day, not the people who pay for their free lunch. And to answer your first question, not hardly. And if you have a nation charity hasn't been annexed by the State you would be surprised just how communitarian the citizenry can be.
@suspicious35 You're saying that the majority of unemployed people refuse to work? Maybe 9% of Americans refuse to work (excluding vagabonds). So, all these people struggling to survive, to get a job, they should suffer because a couple bums take a ride on the system? Citizenry is not "communitarian". It's a sad truth, that almost all Americans are materialists. Everyone's got a carrot saying "try harder, you might be rich tomorrow!" so they save up, and ignore the needs of their fellow man.
@LeBaronDePropane Americans work more than Europeans and much more likely to have children to take care of so those volunteer statistics are all the more dramatic.
@LeBaronDePropane 14 times more than Italians, also "...in 1998, Americans were 15 percent more likely to volunteer their time than the Dutch, 21 percent more likely than the Swiss, and 32 percent more likely than the Germans." The widely held European belief that Americans are motivated only by money is a crude anti-capitalist prop and stunning inversion of reality. An society of empowered, self-reliant and self-directed citizens will rise the occasion. That's what I mean by communitarian
@suspicious35 America isn't communitarian... maybe if you'd go out and experience the poverty stricken districts, you'd see that your entire comment is fallacious.
@LeBaronDePropane Compared to what? Europe? Nearly, every Western European city has a seething Arab street right when you leave the "cosmopolitan" thoroughfares. Americans work to help their fellow citizens while Europeans view their condescending and statist opinions as a sign of moral superiority and a good deed unto themselves. The net result is a continent that doesn't do much as evidenced by a serious lack of world beating companies, Imported U.S. pop culture etc...
@LeBaronDePropane Compared to what? Europe? Nearly, every Western European city has a seething Arab street right when you leave the "cosmopolitan" thoroughfares. @planetofthescums I said "only".If Europeans were responsible community minded people 4 Germans, 4 Italians and 4 Frogs would manage to donate more money the than one American and they would find the time in their "busy" schedules to volunteer at American levels. Also, more of them would get around to marring and having children. I say that Americans are motivated by more than money because we donate vastly more of our time and money to charity and family than the allegedly communal Europeans
@suspicious35 You should have said that it is anti-American, because Americans are more than capitalists. To say capitalists are motivated by money is correct and certainly not a complete inversion of reality.
I just said communal because it shares root words with communist. Much like capital and capitalism.
As far as the charity of Europeans. I don't know much about it and hope they are happy.
@planetofthescums The Europeans (especially the French) are anti-American primarily because (accept for most New England and San Francisco) we don't accept the socialist program. The two are linked.
Also, the root word of "liberal" is allegedly liberty yet "liberal" are heavy stateists who want to run the economy from Washington and create thought crimes laws. The prefix is propaganda rather than an entomological truth. Communism and Socialism are extremely non social nor communal
@suspicious35 I stay far from any loose talk involving social studies. You can divide the world up into different groups but none of it will ever mean anything. We are autonomous creatures.
Socialism means property is owned not by the individual.
Communism is where everyone works and shares but nobody makes any money.
Leprechans, everybody seems to know what one is. With circular logic you can actually know why the French hate Americans, China is communism, and political parties are a good idea.
@suspicious35 Calling people socialist or communist even though they have class systems and private property, then saying that communism is not communal and socialism is not social because of it.
@planetofthescums When a person is socialist that means that they support socialist ideology same for communism. It doesn't denote a way of living but rather an ideological support. What's circular about looking at communist society and realizing their egoistic and have a tendency to betray each other. What's circular about noting that the citizens "social democracies" feel no need to volunteer or donate and are less likely form families or hold onto a spouse
@suspicious35 Well as I said before I stay away from social studies, those kind of statistics could mean anything.
You know what a communist is and you go out looking for one. All you are describing are human characteristics, betrayal, egoism, and labelling communists when you could apply those same labels to anyone you wanted.
@suspicious35 Unable to believe that you don't know how to find an article on the internet for which I have given you the title and author, I take that as subtle jab to the point that this not in a periodical. To which I wonder, what does an article being written in a periodical convey to you?
@suspicious35 What you are talking about is the people who believe rather than what they belief. It doesn't change any facts about communism or socialism if all its supporters are Euro-trash. I thought you were talking about people living under communism or socialism, because only that would make sense.
Screw you, Maher. Your comment wasn't over the line? Why don't you go say that b.s. straight to a soldier's face? I guarantee that within one second of finishing your sentence, you'll be on the ground with your big, fat nose gushing blood.
He never said they were idiots, that was just the poster trying to get a rise. As a veteran, when I served I was clueless as were most of the other recruits to the goings on in the world. I joined because I thought it was a good idea to serve my country and have a job and get college help. Now I am well read as to what happens in the world, so he was spot on, of course it was a generalization, but it was an accurate perspective.
I came to this vid fully prepared to flame away. I think what he's trying to say is that we cannot just continue to keep troops in Iraq without some effort or plan and continuing to take casualties with no apparent effort at a resolution I.E. WINNING and killing the enemy, is sensless and irresponsible. I agree. Keep in mind this was in 2006, the bloodiest single yaer of the war
LOL he said most of the young people in the army were people who joined because they couldn't find jobs elsewhere....WOW. Maybe they want to serve their country courageously, ever think of that?
Eh. I think the point Richard was TRYING to make was that soldiers, while being mostly honorable people, are by and large in their teens and twenties and might have slightly skewed views of the purpose of the war, but ended up sounding like a complete fucking prick. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for dropping the wars now, but any comment other than praise for our armed forces' bravery in volunteering for these wars can only be perceived as complete condescension.
The funny thing is the Belzer is actually wrong. The soldiers today are generally very well read on the latest issues affecting the country to which they are deployed. Whether they understand what they've read is another matter, and soldiers certainly should never be dictating policy, yet they do know what is going on around them.
I would punch him in his fucking mouth if he said that to me.
Besides, being in the armed forces is just another job, some people like it, the atmosphere and what they do in the army. What if a guy doesnt want to be a fat ass old accountant counting other peoples' money day and night for a living.
I could say the same thing about actors, they chose acting because they're afraid of real jobs, pussies. These liberals are fucking idiots.
So...being a soldier/sailor/marine means you don't know how wars work or what's going on in the world...but being an actor makes you an expert? That makes sense?
"Doesnt mean he's a brillent scholar about the war because he is there." And listen to the idiotic crowd too. You know what Bush did to gain information about the war? You know what Churchil, Lincoln, Clemenceau, Louis XIV, George Washington and members of the original congress, and pratically every good military and/or political leader IN HISTORY! What did they do to gain information about the war? They asked the troops and generals WHO WERE THERE, not pampered wanna-be intellectuals!
@razumfrackle I just have to say that Hulk Hogan video you posted might be the most disgraceful, disgusting and totally reprehensible action I've ever seen. that guy is an out of control lunatic, how exactly do you "respect" him?
@razumfrackle for god's sake are you saying he should've expected it? I've seen much more uncomfortable interviews than that prelude video, and I've never seen it end with that kind of intentional gross assault. did you notice Hogan whisper his intentions to Mr. T before doing the move? they were both in on assaulting him. society demands a certain amount of decorum and self control, people who act like Hogan should be in prison, however much you dislike Belzer he didn't deserve that.
didn't deserve it? What's that got to do with it? You start chunking rocks at a bull, he runs you down and gores you. There is no value judgement there, simply cause and effect.
They settled out of court, case closed.
But, what remains is a pattern of behavior for Belzer. A single-minded attitude of mindless free-speech, w/o regard to argument or consequences.
He "feels" he is entitled to disrespect people w/o respect to the facts or their ability to squash him like a bug.
@razumfrackle people in modern society always have the right to criticize others without fear of being "squashed like a bug", I'm not going to make the old point about the first amendment, it's simply a basic condition of society that people should feel safe. "mindless free speech" is still free speech, the concept of free speech is meaningless if you only protect your own right to speak. you are entitled to say Belzer is a fool, and he is equally entitled to speak his mind.
@truthslap "you are entitled to say Belzer is a fool"
Based upon the evidence I've submitted I say "Belzer is a fool" as a demonstrable fact not opinion. Hogan was put in the unenviable situation of having to defend his craft, his livelyhood, on a live broadcast. From his perspective the act was an investment, like Ozzy biting the head off of a dove.
But, hey they settled out of court. Belzer, even today, capitalizes on the event.
@truthslap How stupid are you to get your "facts" from an actor in Hollywood without doing any research yourself? Ignorance and arrogance do seem to follow each other closely.
@truthslap Have you ever been in the military? The fact is most of the people you meet at MEPS (military processing) are not there because they could not find a job or could not graduate college. 50% of them are from ROTC. There's another 10% who are college graduates without any ROTC background. There are many people who join straight out of high school and earn a degree while serving in the military. People join the military for pride, sense of duty, honor, belief in what they're fighting for.
Also, just cause someone has been to college does not make them intelligent. During my time in academia, I've had some interaction with some amazingly stupid people. There are alot of universities out there where a pulse is sufficient to get you enrolled. The test I took for the Marines was harder and more varied in subject knowledge than the SAT.
1. Most people who join the military don't do so for financial reasons. 2. To join the Marines you have have at least a high school diploma. 3. The actor ( what's his face, don't remember his name and don't care) is really, really stupid if he thinks he knows more about what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan than the troops who are there, because he reads newspaper articles on the subject. What a first class fool!
you all don't like the facts? the vast majority of people signing up to fight these wars are NOT college graduates, why else would they sign up to fight and risk their lives for the measly benefits they're offered? how stupid are you people to question the plain legitimacy of what he said?
Context: 1 in 5 Americans between 18 and 24 are unemployed.
At 2 years a single E-4 will make over $35k/year virtually all of it non-taxable (health, dental in addition). After 3 years their GI Bill is worth over $70k. By 4 years (22 y/o) most are making over $55k. Some career fields will pay $80k for a four year re-enlistment.
Fact: Military personnel are better educated, healthier and far less likely to have committed a crime than their civilian counterparts.
@razumfrackle I agree, many people my age are unemployed in this recession, and you're right the GI bill offers a fine salary and benefits. I still don't see many college-bound students or graduates joining the military, I know quite a few that joined to avoid college. students usually prefer rigorous study over risking our lives in international disputes. about your last fact, how do you define military personnel's "civilian counterparts"? are you measuring against the entire population?
@truthslap, "are you measuring against the entire population?"
Yes, of course. I am not comparing them to the 10% of the privileged population that have the "college experience" either through earned scholarships or daddy's deep pockets (btw I put myself and two kids through college).
My story: I left home at 18. Joined the military as a Security Policeman (pay and benefits much less than now). Night school: two AAS, a BCS and a now MCS $125k/yr, so I resent elite schmucks like Belzer.
@razumfrackle you've done great for yourself, most civilians with higher degrees don't earn as much, and a good number aren't even employed these days. I wouldn't argue that the military route isn't an attractive choice for a safe salary, and I was wrong to assume the benefits weren't good. still, signing up for the military is rightfully considered the route for those who aren't attending college instead, also it's a serious moral decision that many of us young people don't even think through.
belcher is like jenny mcarthy and jim carrey. all three of these fools(plus tons more) all think their celeb status makes them smarter than everyone. thanks to jim n jen how many kids were hurt, because they convinced libs that vaccines were bad? celebs like maher and belcher are convinced they are privy to something noone else is and thats not even close like alec baldwin said ("its ok i played a pilot) so that makes him one
@MrRedtubelover No, these people are assuming that everyone that volunteer is a 19 year old with no job. I was 19 when I join but I took a huge pay cut, military pay for a pvt in 07 was 1,700 a month, I was making 3,200 a month before I join. There were a substantial amount of enlisted personel who had a college degree, or were above 25. I asked them why dont you didnt became an officer and they reply to me that they wanted to fight with the grunts in the infantry.
Then you must have joined under fallible connotations of "God and Country". Country isn't reality. Country is an idea. It's bullshit.
I can understand when someone joins because they haven't the finances to pay for their education and have no where else to turn. I know plenty of these people. I also know plenty of people who actually LIKE the idea of becoming what I call "legal terrorist", or American soldier, if you will. They like the idea of killing the "enemies" of our "country"
@kkaspars22 You sir dont know me, I join to upheld the ideas of John-Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau,Voltaire, and the founding fathers of this great nation. Individual liberty is a treasure we must not forget in the 21st century. I might disagree with you totally but I will defend your right to say it with my life. Be it foreign or domestic.
@08infidel I suppose I was brash. Defense is an admirable virtue, and I respect that of you and other service men and women. My problem is the current state of affairs America is in. We're not "defending" anybody while in the Middle East, only our assets and interests, but we SAY we are by calling our enemies "terrorists". But aren't we terrorizing them? That's my concern. Telling people we're "fighting the good fight" in order to force some political agenda isn't my idea of defense.
@08infidel You could say I just have a problem with pro-war ideals. The world is globally connected now. You can virtually contact anyone - anywhere - instantly. We need to stop putting up walls for the sake of the GLOBAL community; we can't just think about the Unites States anymore. We're all stuck on this rock we call Earth, lets stop fucking killing each other.
@kkaspars22 Thats a wonderful Idea, but there are many problems conflicting in our society today. The whole world needs to secular minded and respect individual rights, once that happend than you might see more peace, but that wont happend in this century .
Obviously there is the subsect of Liberals who fancy themselves intellectuals. Obviously this guy is being pedantic and condescending. However, I must agree with his point, as much as it pains me. I don't agree with the frame of mind from which his comments spring, just that they are generally true. Just because your in the army doesn't mean that you are a geopolitical expert. It also doesn't make you a fool.
305 million people in the USA. 1,431,00 in the armed forces equals .45 percent of the population. Of those 224,144 are officers. Go back to Acting where you belong Belzer because you cannot stomach what is real and neccesary so you have the right to bash us.
i choose our soldiers over dick belcher on the war anyday. i dont give a flying fuck how many papers he reads per day. the men and women who are in the middle of it fighting are the experts on the war, not politicians with agends and not fucking spoiled ass actors reading a paper over their morning espresso and toast while thoes 'stupid kids who cant get jobs' are dying. thoes who cant do, act. unlike you they cant get up once the director yesls 'cut'
@JASONZx6R sooo whats the war for?? protecting the oil fields and opium fields and too establish a permanent base in the middle east to guard these interests,.. big money,.. does that sound worth getting shot about>>? well if your answer is yes,.. than sign up!!
@mrsinister03 ohh and not to mention the defense contractors who make shitloads of cash building the all the weapons and then slip the politicians a few 100 million to keep the war effort alive so everyone can get fatcat rich
@mrsinister03 - oh god dont let anyone but you make money. lets see actors making hundreds of millions playing pretend, bitching about industry CEO's who actually create making 250k a yr. i so fuckin sick of celebs thinking they are smarter. and again you didnt disprove my point. we can argue why they are there, but if you actually think belcher has a clue over them, then you are fooling yourself.
and actually you gave the perfect reason why small govt is best. unlike belcher and maher who think that you and me should be ruled like children by a large nanny state. nothing funnier than limo libs talking about opression.
@mrsinister03 - oh please that tired 'blood for oil ' crap is so played out. We have oil here. lots of it so if its Oil we are there for then you need to ask yourself why isnt oil .0000005 a ton and if anything why is it so difficult to drill here that we have to go to war in another country. i wish it was for oil, beats getting shot at for a bunch of camel fuckers freedom at the cost of our own. like all libs belcher thinks freedom is given instead of taken.
these comments are to long, just a bunsh of dicks who think theyre special cuz they have some sense of open minded thought, so they argue with idiots ,thinking they can change their mind, lame
The Elitist are so briiliant . Richard Belzer reads? What?
media matters, NY Times, Huffington Post now he knows exactly what the elitist writer is telling him. If Belzer and Maher want to educate the troops go to Iraq or Afghanistan and tell the soldiers you are to stupid to understand because we read. These two clowns would need a dose of reality. The Elitist Mantra" you soldiers are too Stupid" Thanks for your support of the troops Mr Maher, Mr Belzer.
My cousin joined the National Guard and went to Afghanistan because he couldn't get a job, didn't have the grades for a scholarship, and no money to pay for school.
@sallylongpants Its not whether they could take the country, its whether they could attack this country. While our troops are over there keeping them from attacking us they are protecting our freedoms. Your freedoms all revolve around you being alive, and if the troops arent there attacks would have continued and eventually you would be dead, and therefore have no freedoms.
This is what fucking kills me. People like this bitch and moan because people are dying accross the world because of dictators and famine, yet when we go to put a stop to a dictator, and people die, THEY BITCH ABOUT THAT! What did they want the military to do? Walk up and ask Sadam to step down? Kindly ask the taliban and al queda to stop suicide bombing and mutilating innocents? Fuck these people. They understand nothing about this war or the world for that matter.
haha this is bullshit. im enlisting in the Marines right outta high school but im smarter than most people at my school. even the ones in ap and the ib program. hell, i get perfect scores on the sol's pretty often when they dont. joining the military isnt a stupid decision at all.
They are patriots and they are honorable people who fought and still fighting for this country. However we send them to die like idiots, so we make them into idiots whether they like it or not.
When we fight a false war like Iraq we turn them into idiots because we are telling them to fight an enemy that does not exist. Fight to stop WMD that does not exist.
Yes, they are idiots, because we are the idiots who tell them to fight like one.
All Hollywood idiots and main stream media figures are brainwashed zombies. If you don't realize this, then you are brainwashed as well. Welcome to America "Land of The Living Dead".

I agree with the point that the military men and women aren't in a position to read, watch, or listen to independant news and as such, are not informed of contrasing views on the war. As such, they are less informed as they could be. I agree that many of them have not graduated from college often because of their age. I do not agree that they couldn't get jobs, many do have noble intentions.

mrsockhandy 5 months ago
@SilverFox466 The Devil doesn't exist. God doesn't exist. Therefore your argument is invalid. Liberals are evil? WOH WOH WOH I didn't know that trying to help the poor AND the lower middle class citizens is evil. Haven't you guys ever heard the term "Bleeding heart"? It's (somehow) a derogatory term to liberals who don't want to see innocents die, or get cheated. "Bleeding heart" is also a reference to Jesus Christ (i hate to bring up fictional characters) considering he was a socialist.
LeBaronDePropane 5 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane You refrencing Jesus is moronic first of all. You claim God does not exist so how dare you use him as an example. It is the individuals responsibility to take care of the poor and not the government. The larger the government the smaller the people. Your mis-charactersation of how people who disagree with you are haters and wish the poor would die is false. That is what the left do though - they use mis-charactersations and repeat it over and over again until it is believed.
SilverFox466 5 months ago
@SilverFox466 I honestly wish that i could bash a baseball bat over your head. But that would make me no better than a fascist like you, would it?
Yup, so Corporations deserve a tax cut, while my fellow man can sleep in a gutter. Sounds fair to me.
LeBaronDePropane 5 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane What gets me - you say you care about the innocent yet your side pushes to kill the most innocent - the unborn child. As far as cheating the poor - that is another lie. I believe giving a leg up should be a moral responsability. Providing a life long distribution of money or forcing one to take their money and giving it to the government is immoral. If I give to charity - that is my choice. You should not dictate that I should give my money to a communist organization.
SilverFox466 5 months ago
@SilverFox466
LeBaronDePropane 5 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane My personal theology is my own. Your religion is progressivism. Again - you don't have a relationship with Christ, so I love how you all twist the truth about subjects you have no clue or knowledge about. You say Jesus is a fictional character yet you call him a socialist. He was the furthest thing from a socialist and you would know that if you actually read the Bible and understood it. Liberals in general are evil and it has been the left who will destroy America.
SilverFox466 5 months ago
@SilverFox466 Jesus was a socialist, just as Holden Caulfield was a non-conformist.
Just that Jesus never lived doesn't mean that his story didn't. His story is the story of a Communist! Living a minimalist life and giving what you don't need to those less fortunate?! BLASPHEMY!!!!!
I know i don't have a relationship with Christ, his plan is to ensure the suffering and death of everyone i know and love.
Hitler wasn't a liberal. Satan never said to "give to the poor". You're just plain illogical.
LeBaronDePropane 5 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane To top everything off: you are a communist. I don't waste my time on communists. If you think communism is so great then leave the US. Freedom is rare and somthing that should be embraced. It is people like you who scare me because you want to take away my freedoms. Communism has killed more people in the 20th century than any other movment. Mao alone killed at least 75 million people and you call that moral. Your ideology is flawed and you worship these people. Nice.
SilverFox466 5 months ago
LeBaronDePropane 5 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane You are a liberal talking point. Go become educated - your cliam that capitalism has murdered more people is not factual.
Fact: Soviet Union = 39 mil in forced labor
Soviet Union total since 1900 = over 61 mil
Stalin = 43 mil
Mao = 75 mil that they know of, this count could be much higher
Cambodia = 7 mil between 1975 and 1978
Communism = 110 mil since 1900 by quasi government and gurillas
Numbers we don't know about due to control of the state. Keep up with the propoganda.
SilverFox466 5 months ago
@SilverFox466
LeBaronDePropane 5 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane Your definition of capitialism is flawed and made up. What you are talking about was goverment controlled land and property. It sounds more like dictator controlled government, and communisim. Thanks for proving my point. Capitalism began in the late 19th century.

@Depotman122 I wouldn't go as far as to say multiple billions, but definately 1 billion at least.
LeBaronDePropane 5 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane Actually the bloodiest ideologies in history are Darwinist, like communism and Nazism. Which religions and mantras are you thinking about. Not a billion not even close.
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35
LeBaronDePropane 4 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane Not Darwinism as scientific law, but social Darwinism as ideology. See the distinction? Also, when you consider how small populations were in the Middle ages and before, (when religious wars and murder were in their per-capita heyday) you realize there's no way it could be a billion people even if you count every crime ever blamed on religion or excused by religion.
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35
If you're talking about social Darwinism, then maybe you should say that.
It's fact, since the beginning of man 48000 BCE, some 100 billion men and women have walked this earth.
LeBaronDePropane 4 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane
First, point taken. Second, really!? Also, can you count something as a historical fact if it took place in Pre-history? Further, if there is no large organized society and there wasn't 5000 BC, much less 48000 BC how could there have been organized religion?
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35 Ah and that's where i'm right, i never said anything about "organized society" or "organized religion". Capitalism refers to capital, land and valuables, which have always existed, even since we were primates. Every death in the name of land or valuables has been a result of Capitalism and human greed that would be at least 10-30 billion lives. About the religion part, well, sacrifice, religious wars, it has to have added up to about 1-4 billion if not more.
LeBaronDePropane 4 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane Again where do these numbers come from? And wouldn't a murder to get hold of a someone else's property be a death caused by socialism? Sounds like redistribution of wealth to me. I would also point out that by definition you can't have a war without an organized society. Would you consider the 27 million Soviet killed in world war 2 to be deaths by Capitalism? The war was over land and valuables. Even if the spoils (mostly) went to state coffers
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35
A murder to get ahold of someone else's property?
Socialists do not seek to redistribute property, but to make property public. Anyone who thinks that the Soviets were by definition communist, is retarded. America has more aspects of an ideal Communist State than any 'real' communist state has ever had.
World war two was fought over land and valuables? You're schooling me here, but yes deaths in the names of Capitalism.
LeBaronDePropane 4 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane Who's property public? If you look at socialists from Europe to New England who's money do they take? Rich people's. And who gets it? In America it's mostly the farmers, teachers, auto-workers and old people. In Europe, well, that list would go waaaay over my character count.
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35 Lol, now you're trying to victimize rich people? I admit, before you can eliminate property, you have to redistribute it equally. But what's bad about that? How can you possibly think there's something wrong about taking money from men who sit on their ass all day, and giving it to people who do physical labor? If the rich were doing that on their own, they'd be benevolent philanthropists, BUT THEY'RE NOT, AND THEY NEVER WILL BE.
LeBaronDePropane 4 months ago
@LeBaronDePropane Because the welfare recipients sit and do nothing all day, not the people who pay for their free lunch. And to answer your first question, not hardly. And if you have a nation charity hasn't been annexed by the State you would be surprised just how communitarian the citizenry can be.
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35 You're saying that the majority of unemployed people refuse to work? Maybe 9% of Americans refuse to work (excluding vagabonds). So, all these people struggling to survive, to get a job, they should suffer because a couple bums take a ride on the system? Citizenry is not "communitarian". It's a sad truth, that almost all Americans are materialists. Everyone's got a carrot saying "try harder, you might be rich tomorrow!" so they save up, and ignore the needs of their fellow man.

@suspicious35 "European belief that Americans are motivated only by money is a crude anti-capitalist prop and stunning inversion of reality."
You just don't see the irony of this statement? Seriously. Saying they are motivated by money is anti-capitalist?
Capital is money, the costs of goods and services are based on the amount of money buyers will spend.
The entire capitalist system is motivated, moved and impelled, by money.
They call that anti-capitalist?!?
"Commun"ism, communal, hello!?!
planetofthescums 4 months ago
@planetofthescums I said "only".If Europeans were responsible community minded people 4 Germans, 4 Italians and 4 Frogs would manage to donate more money the than one American and they would find the time in their "busy" schedules to volunteer at American levels. Also, more of them would get around to marring and having children. I say that Americans are motivated by more than money because we donate vastly more of our time and money to charity and family than the allegedly communal Europeans
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35 You should have said that it is anti-American, because Americans are more than capitalists. To say capitalists are motivated by money is correct and certainly not a complete inversion of reality.
I just said communal because it shares root words with communist. Much like capital and capitalism.
As far as the charity of Europeans. I don't know much about it and hope they are happy.
planetofthescums 4 months ago
@planetofthescums The Europeans (especially the French) are anti-American primarily because (accept for most New England and San Francisco) we don't accept the socialist program. The two are linked.
Also, the root word of "liberal" is allegedly liberty yet "liberal" are heavy stateists who want to run the economy from Washington and create thought crimes laws. The prefix is propaganda rather than an entomological truth. Communism and Socialism are extremely non social nor communal
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35 I stay far from any loose talk involving social studies. You can divide the world up into different groups but none of it will ever mean anything. We are autonomous creatures.
Socialism means property is owned not by the individual.
Communism is where everyone works and shares but nobody makes any money.
Leprechans, everybody seems to know what one is. With circular logic you can actually know why the French hate Americans, China is communism, and political parties are a good idea.
planetofthescums 4 months ago
@planetofthescums Uhm, what circular logic.
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35 Calling people socialist or communist even though they have class systems and private property, then saying that communism is not communal and socialism is not social because of it.
planetofthescums 4 months ago
@planetofthescums When a person is socialist that means that they support socialist ideology same for communism. It doesn't denote a way of living but rather an ideological support. What's circular about looking at communist society and realizing their egoistic and have a tendency to betray each other. What's circular about noting that the citizens "social democracies" feel no need to volunteer or donate and are less likely form families or hold onto a spouse
suspicious35 4 months ago
@suspicious35 Well as I said before I stay away from social studies, those kind of statistics could mean anything.
You know what a communist is and you go out looking for one. All you are describing are human characteristics, betrayal, egoism, and labelling communists when you could apply those same labels to anyone you wanted.

@suspicious35 Unable to believe that you don't know how to find an article on the internet for which I have given you the title and author, I take that as subtle jab to the point that this not in a periodical. To which I wonder, what does an article being written in a periodical convey to you?

The Gringo Gazette.

I agree. Keep in mind this was in 2006, the bloodiest single yaer of the war
lfd0311 5 months ago
LOL he said most of the young people in the army were people who joined because they couldn't find jobs elsewhere....WOW. Maybe they want to serve their country courageously, ever think of that?
mac18sfa 5 months ago
BeanSand 5 months ago
He’s not a patriotic American, but he plays one on TV. What a jackass.
primpal08 5 months ago
The funny thing is the Belzer is actually wrong. The soldiers today are generally very well read on the latest issues affecting the country to which they are deployed. Whether they understand what they've read is another matter, and soldiers certainly should never be dictating policy, yet they do know what is going on around them.

I could say the same thing about actors, they chose acting because they're afraid of real jobs, pussies. These liberals are fucking idiots.

I have a new found respect for Hulk Hogan: /watch?v=i7n_SHrK408
First, virtually everyone in the military has at least a highschool diploma - you can't say for everyone working in H O L L Y W O O D.
Second, in 2006 unemployment rates in the civilian sector were at an all time low - young men and women joined up because they wanted to serve.
Third, "ask them". Hell yeah, ask them. You think some elite schmuck who "reads 20 newspapers a day" knows more than they?
razumfrackle 6 months ago
@razumfrackle I just have to say that Hulk Hogan video you posted might be the most disgraceful, disgusting and totally reprehensible action I've ever seen. that guy is an out of control lunatic, how exactly do you "respect" him?
truthslap 6 months ago
@truthslap "disgraceful, disgusting and totally reprehensible"
Yup, all true.
What Belzer failed to show as a prelude to the incident was ten minutes of him lambasting professional wrestlers as fakes and clowns.
/watch?v=QXCYfpJbaRQ
I'm no wrestling fan, but only a fool would have done what Belzer did. He was stupid to 'disrespect' someone who could break him in half.
razumfrackle 6 months ago
@razumfrackle for god's sake are you saying he should've expected it? I've seen much more uncomfortable interviews than that prelude video, and I've never seen it end with that kind of intentional gross assault. did you notice Hogan whisper his intentions to Mr. T before doing the move? they were both in on assaulting him. society demands a certain amount of decorum and self control, people who act like Hogan should be in prison, however much you dislike Belzer he didn't deserve that.
truthslap 6 months ago
@truthslap
didn't deserve it? What's that got to do with it? You start chunking rocks at a bull, he runs you down and gores you. There is no value judgement there, simply cause and effect.
They settled out of court, case closed.
But, what remains is a pattern of behavior for Belzer. A single-minded attitude of mindless free-speech, w/o regard to argument or consequences.
He "feels" he is entitled to disrespect people w/o respect to the facts or their ability to squash him like a bug.
razumfrackle 6 months ago
@razumfrackle people in modern society always have the right to criticize others without fear of being "squashed like a bug", I'm not going to make the old point about the first amendment, it's simply a basic condition of society that people should feel safe. "mindless free speech" is still free speech, the concept of free speech is meaningless if you only protect your own right to speak. you are entitled to say Belzer is a fool, and he is equally entitled to speak his mind.
truthslap 6 months ago
@truthslap "you are entitled to say Belzer is a fool"
Based upon the evidence I've submitted I say "Belzer is a fool" as a demonstrable fact not opinion. Hogan was put in the unenviable situation of having to defend his craft, his livelyhood, on a live broadcast. From his perspective the act was an investment, like Ozzy biting the head off of a dove.
But, hey they settled out of court. Belzer, even today, capitalizes on the event.
So, pardon me while I shed a tear.
Ah there, better now.

@truthslap How stupid are you to get your "facts" from an actor in Hollywood without doing any research yourself? Ignorance and arrogance do seem to follow each other closely.
samurai419 6 months ago
@truthslap Have you ever been in the military? The fact is most of the people you meet at MEPS (military processing) are not there because they could not find a job or could not graduate college. 50% of them are from ROTC. There's another 10% who are college graduates without any ROTC background. There are many people who join straight out of high school and earn a degree while serving in the military. People join the military for pride, sense of duty, honor, belief in what they're fighting for.
samurai419 6 months ago
Also, just cause someone has been to college does not make them intelligent. During my time in academia, I've had some interaction with some amazingly stupid people. There are alot of universities out there where a pulse is sufficient to get you enrolled. The test I took for the Marines was harder and more varied in subject knowledge than the SAT.
ewhit79 6 months ago
What a first class fool!
ewhit79 6 months ago
you all don't like the facts? the vast majority of people signing up to fight these wars are NOT college graduates, why else would they sign up to fight and risk their lives for the measly benefits they're offered? how stupid are you people to question the plain legitimacy of what he said?
truthslap 6 months ago
@truthslap measley benefits?
Fact: Military personnel are better educated, healthier and far less likely to have committed a crime than their civilian counterparts.
razumfrackle 6 months ago
@razumfrackle I agree, many people my age are unemployed in this recession, and you're right the GI bill offers a fine salary and benefits. I still don't see many college-bound students or graduates joining the military, I know quite a few that joined to avoid college. students usually prefer rigorous study over risking our lives in international disputes. about your last fact, how do you define military personnel's "civilian counterparts"? are you measuring against the entire population?
truthslap 6 months ago
@truthslap, "are you measuring against the entire population?"
Yes, of course. I am not comparing them to the 10% of the privileged population that have the "college experience" either through earned scholarships or daddy's deep pockets (btw I put myself and two kids through college).
My story: I left home at 18. Joined the military as a Security Policeman (pay and benefits much less than now). Night school: two AAS, a BCS and a now MCS $125k/yr, so I resent elite schmucks like Belzer.
razumfrackle 6 months ago
@razumfrackle you've done great for yourself, most civilians with higher degrees don't earn as much, and a good number aren't even employed these days. I wouldn't argue that the military route isn't an attractive choice for a safe salary, and I was wrong to assume the benefits weren't good. still, signing up for the military is rightfully considered the route for those who aren't attending college instead, also it's a serious moral decision that many of us young people don't even think through.
truthslap 6 months ago
belcher is like jenny mcarthy and jim carrey. all three of these fools(plus tons more) all think their celeb status makes them smarter than everyone. thanks to jim n jen how many kids were hurt, because they convinced libs that vaccines were bad? celebs like maher and belcher are convinced they are privy to something noone else is and thats not even close like alec baldwin said ("its ok i played a pilot) so that makes him one

08infidel 6 months ago
@08infidel
They like the idea of killing the "enemies" of our "country"
kkaspars22 6 months ago
@kkaspars22 You sir dont know me, I join to upheld the ideas of John-Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau,Voltaire, and the founding fathers of this great nation. Individual liberty is a treasure we must not forget in the 21st century. I might disagree with you totally but I will defend your right to say it with my life. Be it foreign or domestic.
08infidel 6 months ago
@08infidel I suppose I was brash. Defense is an admirable virtue, and I respect that of you and other service men and women. My problem is the current state of affairs America is in. We're not "defending" anybody while in the Middle East, only our assets and interests, but we SAY we are by calling our enemies "terrorists". But aren't we terrorizing them? That's my concern. Telling people we're "fighting the good fight" in order to force some political agenda isn't my idea of defense.
kkaspars22 6 months ago
@08infidel You could say I just have a problem with pro-war ideals. The world is globally connected now. You can virtually contact anyone - anywhere - instantly. We need to stop putting up walls for the sake of the GLOBAL community; we can't just think about the Unites States anymore. We're all stuck on this rock we call Earth, lets stop fucking killing each other.
kkaspars22 6 months ago
@kkaspars22 Thats a wonderful Idea, but there are many problems conflicting in our society today. The whole world needs to secular minded and respect individual rights, once that happend than you might see more peace, but that wont happend in this century .
