International help-teams have arrived and r helping now and some r on their way to the worst areas.
All hit areas including the worst ones have been sent help and the China gov is still rapidly increasing the no. of all kinds of help especially helicopters.
los mexicanos quieren ir a auxiliar a estas personas pero el poco criterio de unos afectan a millones de personas. Rescatistas mexicanos tienen mucha experiencia!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the Chinese government deserves credit, too. The tone of this report suggests that the Chinese government has only acted in order to protect its image, at home and abroad. I think that's a little unfair. Things are not always black and white, good and bad. It is possible to criticise the Chinese government for, say, locking up dissidents and at the same time acknowledge that it is doing a bloody good job in other areas.
7.8's a pretty big earthquake, so it may explain it, but with so many buildings having totally collapsed, it'll be interesting to see if there have been lax building standards, as has been the case previously.
japan's building probably have the highest standard of earthquake proof in the world, yet there were still many buildings were collapsed in the kobe earthquake.
there is no building collapsed in all major cities, but there is some in rural areas where the building are relatively old. Also, it's a 7.9 earthquake, if it strucks anywhere in north america. The residence houses will be collapsed as well
It depends on where the epicenter is. A 7.8 may drop any building at the epicenter of the quake, but it's only when you compare the proportion of buildings dropping as distance from the epicenter increases, that you will be able to get a good idea about the appropriateness of building standards.
epicentre is at the rural area as I mentioned. Most of the Collapsed schools were located at this area. One major city chengdu is loacted less than 100 miles from the epicentre. It didn't suffer much from the earthquake. Overall, the building standards have been improved alot since 1976 earthquake which destroyed a medium sized city. But you can't expect all of the buildings in china have the same standards. That's why china is still considered as a developing country instead of a developedone
usa just admit it you are shocked how well chinas responds... chinese responds even much better than kratina in usa.....
