  • Seeing Thom happy makes me happy.

  • Thom Yorke is the pied piper

  • I actually miss the autotune.. It made the song that much more eerie for me.

Anyone know of a live version where he uses that Ondes Martinot for his voice??

  • Fuck what Rock music transformate in??

  • i'm in love with this

  • Phil Selway is underrated dick

  • DANSE MUSIC.

  • If Phil Selway is underrated then I'm a fat black girl named Tina.

  • @MasterOfRanger Hello, Tina! :) You shouldn't call yourself fat. It's bad for your self-esteem... Dancing helps!

  • Dance music!

  • Better without the autotune.

  • @s4msam It's actually putting his voice through an Ondes Martinot on the CD

  • @Thedahdumdum Well thanks for the precision, but you know what I meant..

  • @s4msam You're probabably right. And yeah it does sound better without the processing.

  • DONCE MUSIC

  • Go Phil and Colin!

  • 0:42 Oh, Ed and his inaudible volume swells...

  • what does ed do during this iong

  • the beginning of this version and the end of theother version would made the perfect performance of this song

  • Philip Selway, the world's most kickass and underrated drummer !

  • @knightofeurasia I don't think he's underratted at all :) In fact I think he has some of the most clever drum beats I've ever heard in any style of music before.

  • does anybody know why he doesn't sing the first two lines live?

  • @dougsusername well originally on the album he garbled his vocals because he thought the subject matter was too terrible. maybe he's scared? who knows

  • @payinattention225 wut do u mean? wuts the subject matter?

  • @stereosanctity7 bat thigns happening to a person

  • @stereosanctity7 i have no idea what it means, it was what thom said. and as far as the subject matter, it seems to be about manipulation.

  • radiohead to sweden 2011

  • second best version live.

  • @PatMurph245 what is the first??

  • Comment removed

  • @PatMurph245 whats the first?

  • no words can express how much i love this band :D

  • Phil is having an angry, yet joyful orgasm.

  • 4 spaks have inadequate mouse control.

  • What does he say n repeat at 3:28?

  • @pablodmdp C'mon kids

  • Shake it for me Thom!

  • yeah Phil!

  • @hobojoe722 RAWRRRR I AM A FIERCE MINOTAUR.

  • @koalajones88 LLS.

  • @koalajones88 sweet! thx bro

  • that made my day!!!!!!!

  • @koalajones88 oh nice another view!

  • @koalajones88 everytime When you come back to this video, you add another view though. You and the other three people, who disliked this can go beat off each other, while talking about how much your appalled by this.

  • @koalajones88 yet you keep watching it

  • @koalajones88 ...........are you trollin ??

  • @koalajones88 SUCKK MY DICKKKK

  • What keyboard does Thom use for the samples?

  • thoms voice is beautiful

  • @koreybishop maybe you are very cynical and he is just having fun. Regardless, art is meant to be interpreted in any possible way so let the artist and fan be. Let youtube be a mural and let the fan enjoy the mural as ignorant or injtelligantly as they can. Like you are i am just stating my opinion/

  • love the way phil selway dresses up in a suit to play the drums and everyone else just wears jeans and a top.

  • @snowleopardism tbh, for phil, a suit is dressing down

  • btw the ending is the best part COME ON KIDS!!

this song is pure joy. Its good to have a contrast sometimes, grim lyrics + happy music, just look at no surprises.

  • "Dance music!"

  • i love how thom dances to songs that you wouldn't think anybody could ever dance to

  • kid a is always better than kid b, in my professional opinion

  • he is the ultimate... he lives his music... its soooo fantastic to hear and see this!!!!

  • whore

  • Great performance of this song. I prefur the album version. Very good mix of rock and ambient trance.

  • i loove this song its amazing live. Thom does look a bit creepy at the end tho when hes like 'come along kids' with crazy expressions.

  • This song sounds even more astounding live. What a wonderful melody. Beautiful song.

  • Go Phil!!!

  • He always announces something happy before this song, and he means it sarcastically because it's such an incredibly dark song.

  • @justinorville dark and amazing is what I mean, best band ever.

  • @justinorville I'd argue that it's actually pretty happy. But to each his own...

  • @hitek86 Happy? How so? I'm pretty sure it's about the belief that the goverment has used a dead child as an experiment and cloned it, thus Kid A. Thom has stated this is a possibiity. Thom also stated one of the reasons his voice is warped on the album is because he has trouble singing about the terrible subject matter, this might also explain why he tells the audience all the time it's a happy song, to reassure himself so he can sing it.

  • @justinorville I think this song is a near perfect representation of the album. Maybe not stylistically, but definitely in terms of what the album was getting at (at least in my opinion). I think Thom had overloaded during OKC, and wanted to make some very different music, and that was his escape. Not only was this his way out, but humans way out ---"the rats and children follow me out of town", and "we've got heads on sticks", is a good indication that he's had enough. Escapism is pure bliss.

  • @justinorville jesus, i'm so glad someone else has noticed the horrible sarcasm he has during every performance of this song. this song is horribly depressing to him, and the only way he can sing it is if he reassures himself that no one even gets it, or understands his music, so he does little tests like telling everyone to clap along to the most depressing thing to him, to show that they are sheep who would do whatever and that his feelings on the subject go uncared for as usual. depressing.

  • @koreybishop what the fuck? where did you hear this? or you just assuming this????

  • @coruptgovt hear what? that thom yorke doesn't like his fans, or that this song supposedly was too cruel to sing in his real voice on the album, or that he detaches himself from songs as soon as the album comes out because of constant misinterpretation? google searches and interviews.

  • @koreybishop sry bro, that's a a load of crap. HE never said he doesn't like his fans. He said he doesn't like a fan that is unable to distinguish between the music and the person. By the way, these were old interviews when he was going through basically a nervous breakdown after ok computer and stressed out after kid A. watch a more recent interview and get your facts strait plz.

  • @coruptgovt thom yorke is famous for hating his fans

as for old interviews, this video is from 2003, and after kid a, which is when the interviews you are talking about would have occurred.

calling it a load of crap is definitely an exaggeration, sounding like you are trying to pick a fight; i'm sure you at least admit that what i've said is entirely possible, and not at all too ridiculous.

calling the song pure joy is ridiculous though, on the cd is is depressing as fuck (until the end).

  • @koreybishop it's wierd watching him perform it live, if you know what the song means. It's like he takes on a new persona to try to make the subject matter not seem as bad. Especially when he bounces around like a lunatic singing come on kids. It is kinda sad watching it. Can't deny it's amazing live though. I just feel guitly taking any kind of pleasure out of it...

  • @MRMATRONIC which is what i've been saying; he's proving to himself that nobody in the audience cares/has any idea what the song is about, and will clap and sing and cheer along to anything. so he has them clap and cheer wave their arms around and dance, etc. just to show that they will.

  • @justinorville and the "come on kids" is by far the worst part. the way it sounds on the album is the slowest most lethargic thing ever, but live he turns it into some dance thing, his eyes close completely and he repeats it over and over again in increasingly happy (major) notes.

  • @koreybishop I agree, but I still think it's a fantastic song, live (when they do it without come on kids) and album.

  • @justinorville oh, i love it live, i even love the come on kids part, it's just severely depressing knowing what he really means. watching an artist murder his songs in front of an audience is horrible, but at least thom does it tastefully lol.

  • @justinorville watch?v=IlNAF1bDXkk this video is the most evident of all this

  • HOTTTT!!!!

  • Radiohead come to the Philippines!

  • hahaha its funny how he dancee

  • radiohead bags this one. yorke is a demigod

  • Aww, Thom is like a pixie-sized pow wow dancer.

  • This song is freakin amazing live. And I don't care what anyone says i honestly think the live versions are better than the studio versions.

  • i didnt when i first heard it, but now i cannot believe i never liked it, its like a fine wine, red, simple and made of grapes

  • @cameorole same with me its incredible what radiohead songs do to you over time

  • Loving Thom's dancing!!!

  • @Boganator4 haha, see it live and tell me it was "too boring"

  • so don't see it idiot

  • @lopitumpi. Matter of my opinion.

  • Yeah, don't worry, a lot of things take time to get into.

  • @degree7. I'm a huge fan of Radiohead (Actually one of my favorite bands), but I simply don't like this song.

  • Just this song, or any others?

I didn't think much of it at first either. But when you listen to it at night, with proper speakers, you really pick up on all it's nuances. Especially the drums. And the ending, the ending with the synthesizers is the best part.

  • one of the most beautiful piano pieces jonny's ever played.

  • OH WHY DID I LOL

  • yeeeeeahh love it <3

    im crying

  • DONCE MUSIC. lol.

  • as easy as this: they cant do a bad version of this song...amazing song...amazing band

  • ur an idiot

  • It's just the matter of my opinion.

  • I've already have had cancer fuck head. It seems to me that you can't understand my opinion, and obviously you can't act like a Adult. So I'm going to be simple, if you're going to be a asshole then don't bother talking to me.

  • wooww its a great song but cmon mate

  • Listen to it again.

  • its epic

  • stole my dance moves!

  • Radiohead finished my college application.

  • OMFG I can hardly breathe!!! hell yessssssssssssssssss!

  • This is such a mellow song, lol, I love it. And Thom's just jamming out at the end there.

Come to think of it, I can't think of many other rock artists that are as mellow as Radiohead. Maybe Talk Talk...

  • I wouldn't really call talk talk rock, brah

  • Colour of Spring?

  • THOM IS SO CUTE !!!!!!!!!!XDDD

    with his little dance

  • @crumblerush93

  • hahaha he sounded so pleased with himself when he said "dance music".

  • Comment removed

  • You think you're so smart dont you? everyone has an opinion, so why dont you shut your fuckign computer off or just play nice. its just the internet, idiot.

  • all non-medical opinions are subjective you verbose bell-end

  • Well done Lortagreb you have successfully managed to state that you have a conflicting opinion but not stated what opinion that is or why you have it. Wasn't that useful to all of us?

  • I love how Phil plays the cymbals in this one. Either that or they are just mixed nicer than other performances, I'm not sure.

  • dance music

  • i think the crowd should shut up

  • Recordings like this makes crowds much harder to hear, can you imagine how annoying to be there in the crowd? It's good they're all enthusiastic and all but people are trying to hear the song!

  • @deadstudios Thats exactly what happened when i saw them here in mexico, during this song people just wouldnt shut up!!! so annoying

  • It is not possible for him to do a bad version of this song.

  • PEAK PERFORMANCE

  • It's just odd because you can actually understand the words a bit live.

  • lyrics are the same

  • Did he change the lyrics?drastically?

  • nope

  • daaance musicccc....

  • Israel.

  • @Vagoo77 Me too........I'm a guy.

  • Daaaance music...

  • Oh Thom :)

  • WOW! That was amazing, thanks for sharing!

  • love those dry rides

  • I want a similar performance here in Argentina!

  • Me too, hopes!

  • God, this performance is so charming and beautiful.

Radiohead so so amazing they might take the place away from my favorite band of all time.

  • what a performance!

  • Love is attitude in this!

  • could you send me the original file please???

  • I actually think the album version is far better. Not that this is bad, but I miss the voice distortion, it made this song really unique. I dont see why people hate the album version, I think it's one of the best song, feels as if it stops time and makes you think.

  • Hate it? Why?

  • I don't hate this version, it's just i miss the computerised voice, it really brings out the emotion and meaning in the song (actually reminds me of a baby coming into the real world. A lot of people like this version rather than the album version, but I'm not one of them.

  • i thought i was the olny one haha i totally agree

  • Probably cuz of the drums...

  • Yeah it lacks without the computerized voice.

  • Amazing base line! I can hear base sound clearly than album.

  • wow...complete new interpretation

    and both are beautiful oO

  • I never used to really like this song on the album, but as with so many Radiohead songs, the live interpretation is so brilliant it makes you love it, they open your ears to it. Now I cannot get this out of my head. These guys are so amazing that words fail me!

  • this song is absolutly gergoues
