  • 1 person forgot to pay her pimp.

  • loved this movie back in the day when people and America where real!

  • HI chef ;o)

  • Such an awesome movie!

  • YOU ARE THE DUKE OF NEW YORK. YOU"RE A NUMBER ONE !

  • They just had to do it didn't they? They just HAD to desecrate a '78 Fleetwood. Of all the cars they could've chosen to destroy, it had to be a Caddy. I could say some pretty uncharitable things right now, but I won't.

  • Best Soundtrack Ever Made !

  • i allways expected that crack head wihte dude with the ruster hair to scream, bangerang!

  • More cowbell!!!

  • I love the minimalist music scores in Carpenter's movies.

  • Issac Hayes FTW

  • rollin deep

  • The Duke of Bling! LOL

  • Villains ALWAYS have the coolest theme songs

  • That is like the pimpmobile of pimpmobiles

  • That's ride is the shiz

  • I like The Duke's little bitch that always follows him around, he's such a brown noser.

  • The most pimp ride ever....

  • The Duke of New York. I heard he was A#1.

  • lol to the top comment cant stop laughing

  • Needs more cowbell.

  • Nothing like a classic John Carpenter flick.

  • lets see the reviews

Game Pro gave it a 5/5

    IGN gave it a 10/10

    X-Play gave it a 5/5

Game Spot gave it a 10/10

Nice try but you phail, especially at trolling

  • I'm gonna build a car like this as a project.

how cool would it be to drive a car with chandaliers and a disco ball in it?

    This white boy says very!

  • @quakecon2009 seriously and i live about 15 minutes from Manhattan . so if i ever did build one that is where I'm would go cruising .

  • Cooler as ice!

  • The Duke rode shotgun?!!

  • if Kurt Russel was still young he would make a great role as Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid 3 if they made a movie

  • @IllegalAmigo222 Fuck off cunt. MGS is a cheap piece of shit that totally ripped off John Carpenter's character and vision.

Escape franchise rocks. MGS is for faggots.

  • @ReturnedGrazzt lol if it was that bad explain to me why MGS 4 received supierior reviews?

  • @IllegalAmigo222 Superior views compared to what? Learn to string a complete sentence together then talk to me again in five years.

Superior reviews from mags that also give 8/10 to anime? Yeah, like their opinion is anything valid, ROFL! Eat a dick, son.

  • brilliant soundtrack!

  • Damn the Duke kicks ass, wish he was in charge of NY instead of Bloomberg.

  • Everybody knows that!

  • @KyleGibbons91

Agreed, my friend =-). I gave too much credit to that Nazi Bay =).

  • Don't cross the Duke!

  • Carpenter's music always seemed so simple..yet..so original..never to be duplicated. The man knew how to compose and direct. His Assault on Precinct 13 music was great too!

  • reminds me of my friends ride lol

  • Lolm, only saw this film for the first time last night and I was like, metal gear solid!!!

Seriously, its an awesome film, I'm gonna watch it again.

  • Always loved the movie and soundtrack.

  • romero reminds me of billy idol

  • The Michael Bay of the 80s' the only difference though, Carpenter is legendary and has directorial skills while Bay is a Sellout phony who uses SFX's to wow the ignorant masses.

  • Isaac Hayes plays the duke, He's the chef in South Park and also the man who made the theme song to Shaft.

  • vous ètes le duc !! vous étes le numéro 1 !!!

  • The greatest car in film history - just, slightly ahead of the Delorean, A-Team Van and Mad Max's V8 Interceptor.

  • what the fuck is up wit the chandeliers ??!!!!

  • chandeliers=pimp Cowbell rules

  • slick pimpmobile + badass drumbeat/cowbell combo = WIN

  • Very nice and atmospheric Action/Adeventure/SCI-FI/Thriller movie. Kurt Russel was superb hero. John Carpenter never disappoints me

    I miss the 80's.

  • That is the definition of pimpmobile

  • My dream car....scene filmed in my hometown!!!

  • what a car lol :D

  • @61TheLaz61

Word man, that's one of the baddest rides ever... Chandy's over the headlights and a disco ball hanging from the rear view mirror.

  • Needs more cowbell

  • That Cadillac is OG.

  • is that disco music?

  • I wonder what happened to the Cadillac after the movie. . .

Hope it didn't go to the crusher. It should be in that car museum next to the Mad Max Intercepter and the DeLorean and such.

Lets face it, a pimped-out, jacked-up 77 Sedan DeVille with chandeliers and a HUGE disco ball on the mirror, owned by Issac Hayes- The Duke of New York: A NUMBER 1!!! deserves its spot in movie history. Its too cool not to.

  • I completely agree.

  • yup, this music is in my head when my in laws are coming from out of town. once I see that big black truck with that nasty trailer it hauls going through the gate, the music starts.

  • ...call me Snake...punks.

  • This music was playing in my head last week when my annoying fucking aunt rolled up my stone driveway. The wheels grinded those stones in unison with this dangerous beat, and I knew I would have to endure half an hour of shit talk.

  • Should've whacked her, man. I got guys on the outside. They know guys who know guys. Get what I'm sayin'?

  • Isaac Hayes is a bad ass

  • good old the duke

  • The Duke is the PIMP! xD He is the MAN hahaha

    Love his car.

  • that slime cabbie high tails it and makes it to the cab in 4.5 seconds

  • LOL nobody screws with the Duke

  • This scene is the epitome of a "pimp entrance."

  • Cabby exclaims "HUH!!! IT'S THE DUKE!!!" Then Maggie walks into the bathroom and says "What are you two doing with my toliet?" So snake steps out from behind the shower curtain and says "I wanna see a duke."

  • A woman who holds in her own right the title to such duchy or dukedom, or is the wife of a duke, is normally styled duchess. However, Queen Elizabeth II is known as Duke of Normandy in the Channel Islands and Duke of Lancaster in Lancashire.

  • In the Modern Age, with the exception of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, it mostly became a nominal rank without an actual principality. It remains the highest titular peerage in France, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Italy. The Pope, as a temporal sovereign, has also but rarely granted the title of Duke and Duchess to persons for services to the Holy See. The last American to be titled a papal duke was Nicholas Frederic Brady in the 1930s by Pope Pius XI.

  • In the Middle Ages the title signified first among the Germanic monarchies. Dukes were the rulers of the provinces and the superiors of the counts in the cities and later, in the feudal monarchies, the highest-ranking peers of the king.

  • A duke is a member of the nobility, historically of highest rank below the monarch, and historically controlling a duchy. The title comes from the Latin Dux Bellorum, which had the sense of "military commander" and was employed by both the Germanic peoples themselves and by the Roman authors covering them to refer to their war leaders.

  • BOSS !

  • chandeliers on the hood of a car ha thats pimp. xzibit couldn't fuck with this

  • It is indeed a fantastic soundtrack! The car chase at the end of the movie should be posted too. Great music and a great car chase! A Checker versus a Caddy!

  • R.I.P. Mr. Isaac Hayes.

  • great soundtrack, awesome movie!

  • MORE COWBELL !!!!

  • It's all in the cowbell. Straight g'ing.

  • I love John Carpenters movies!!!

  • Before Don Juan and Snoop Dog...There was the Duke, a real pimp

  • classic movie. RIP Isaac....you were the duke

  • Greatest. Scene. Ever.

  • I love that music.

  • Duke doesn't need more cowbell.

  • Everything needs more cowbell

  • The way The Duke rolled, it would not shock me if The Plaza Hotel was his castle.

    The Duke was a pimp.

  • Chandeliers and a disco ball? Badass!

  • @MacraStraba don't forget the hydraulics as well

  • the theme music is great too

  • Is that Snake Pliskin? I thought he was dead.

  • Isn't that the new presidential limo?

  • LOL

Imagine if Obama came rolling in something like that...:D

  • right on!

  • actual lol

  • That is the most badass pimp car ever

  • pimp my ride, fo realz

  • I don't know, I think the music needs more cow bell. just kidding!! thats my mother in laws theme when she arrives at my house.

  • Man , The Duke was cool! I hate that Carpenter wouldn't let Hayes be in EFLA. Hayes SOO wanted to do it. Carpenter was like "You died man!" and Hayes replied, "I'm The Dukes brother!". It should've happened. It would've been better than that putz George Corraface.

  • I know it is so fucking stupid that Hayes was not in Escape From LA. The guy or main villain had doll heads on his car thats so fucking gay and stupid. The Duke was way better cause he was more of a tough guy and had that pimpin ride with the chandeliers on it.

  • You said it!! "Escape From New York" introduced me to Isaac Hayes and FROM that I got to appreciate him NOT JUST as an actor(Although he was the BEST part of "New York" other than Kurt Russell IMHO) but as a superior musical force as well! I THINK he got an Oscar for his music for "Shaft"(1971)and both his music AND that movie was the personification of COOL(I HIGHLY recommend checking them out for anyone who liked "New York"). Carpenter had a chance to repeat the magic of EFNY and he blew it.

  • That is a badass 77 Sedan DeVille he has I would love to own one with chandeliers on it.

  • What's kooler than a jacked-up '77 Sedan DeVille with chandeliers piloted by Isaac Hayes?

    Nothing.

  • dont forget the disco mirror ball hanging on the car mirror.

  • Pimptastic.

  • bad ass car

  • Beat needs more cowbell!!!

  • I have the soundtrack to this on CD. . .

my best freind (we both love this movie) and I were driving through the town one night with that track in the clip playing in the CD player as loud as it could. Tryin' to ride like the Duke. No lie. . . No bullshit. We actually did that.

Only difference was we didn't have a pimped out Caddilac like the Duke. . . we just had P.O.S Ford Taurus. . .:-/ Oh well.

And chandeliers on the fenders- FTW!!!

  • thats dope man.....i think i need to get me a disco ball for my car..

  • Whats is the name if the track and who is it by mate?

  • The Duke Arrives/Barricade

    John Carpenter & Alan Howarth

  • Rest in peace Issac Hayes...

    A number 1...

  • Hey, its the "A number 1".

  • Me and my mate died of laughter everytime we watched this scene! Chandeliers!?

  • LOL - Now thaaaaat's a seriously pimped ride.

You can't meet the duke, are you crazy!?

Nobody gets to meet the duke- you meet him once and then you're dead!

  • Just wondering, don't anyone know the name of the spiky blond that's with The Duke? I want to do a AU fanfic with him but I need his name.

  • You mean Romero???

The actors name is Frank Doubleday.

  • God I love Duke's car! What a sweet and stylin' ride.

This is among my favorite movies of all time. Absolutely brilliant...

  • john carpenter needs to put out all of his songs on cd cause he wrote all of this music plus the movies thats what i call a genius

  • i think that is probably my favorite scene from the movie. Just because of the music and the dukes cadillac.

  • Great music with a great plisskin in a great movie ^^

  • Great theme music

  • the most badass entrance ever!

I'm gonna go by the dvd now

  • love love love it

  • Best film, best music and best car ever. One of my all time favs. Nice upload :D

  • i totally agree with you there :)

if they ever make a sequel they should force carpenter to use the old analog instruments to make the soundtrack....besides bladerunner this is the best soundtrack ever

  • Great music!!!

  • one of the best movies ever! RIP Issac!

  • best intro ever.

  • This was b-4 Pimp My Ride...

  • Good tribute to Hayes. He was extremely entertaining in this movie.

  • I just heard he died. R.I.P.

And this is a great movie, probably the flashy MTV generation dislikes it but I love this movie.
