  • ouch

  • I am a freshman at Tulare Union High School yeah this high school you guys r saying did poorly. To take offence of my school this was the first year of the band directer Mario Capote and to let u know this year our field show is "The Battle for Mount Olympus" I play bass clarinet & this year is by far the best this band has had since the old band directer retired. And we will fight till our name as the Tulare Union Red Skin Marching Band will always be the first thing u think of when u here Tulare

  • @hopehebreaksmyheart the first thing you think of when you hear tulare is Tulare Western [: Dont worry, by your senor year, you'll understand that.

  • hm Ima Drum Major this cmoing school year. We are doing this show.. im wondering if the drill wil lbe the same as this ?? Great music tho :D

  • The band seems smaller than it was back in 2002... what happened? Mr. Ingram retire and everybody leave the band?

  • All I hear is BANG BANG BANG

  • haha...my band did this show last year. it felt great to conduct it and everything. you did really good here but of course, there is always going to be problems. but i like how you can hear the other bands warming up lol

  • The xylophone part in A La Lune sounded like it missed a lot of notes. Your mallets NEVER seem to be together. Like, at all. Our mallet percussionists were: An eighth grader who had only had one year of experience playing percussion, and a bell player who was in tenth grade and HAD NEVER PLAYED THE INSTRUMENT BEFORE. They were together, and didn't miss notes, much contrary to yours. And could your drumline POSSIBLY be LOUDER? The mallets are supposed to be the biggest part of that drum break.

  • wow, trumpets, jeez. lol, our band's trumpets always sound like crap. idk what it is.

  • That was our third performance that day, so that's why the brass has tone issues. Also, that was our first year with a new director. Overall it was a lot of fun and I really liked playing the music. GO TU!!!

  • we did this show last year, and if you listen to the show music is AMAZING, and makes the show that much more fun to do.

  • We are doing this show this year, the problem with our band is, we have 2 low brass players, tubas, I am A tenor sax player, we have over 15 clarinets, 2 mellophones, 3 trumpets, 3 alto sax, 1 tenor sax (me) 6 flutes, and one piccolo. Four Bass Drums, one quad, 3 snares, and a four person pit. Our Drill Has the drumline in front sometimes, not a good thing. But we have gotten all 1's so far, and we have another competition, today. In This Reve Rouge sounded wierd.

  • that was pretty good. my high school did this show my freshman year. you guys had some of the same problems we did. intonation within the saxes in the ballad couldve been a lot better.

trumpets match articulations better in the third movement. intonation in the saxes again in movement 3. very nice on the each note conducted part. dont spread though trumpets.

dont rush in urban. stay together pit. very nice snares. sax intonation again is an issue.

    overall very nice.

  • im in high school band and we are

    doing this show.

and there are some def. changes.

like tone quality could be better

  • Play this two years ago and it was awesome Trombones could of played louder and the articulation could of been a bit better but all around good show.

  • Played**

  • The trumpets sounded really bad =(

    The sound was spread/blast-ish.

  • lolz....at the end of Distorted it was slow then you guys made for lost time and ended it quick, that was funny...good performace though

  • XP!!! p-e-r-f-o-r-m-a-N-c-e

  • lol wow! the color guard is like bigger than the band! lol [[exaggeration here]] but u know what i mean lol

  • it wasnt THAT bad. the color guard WAS kinda bad though.

  • yea we played la nouba at sierra cup classics but in class A . I'm from the Hoover High school marching band playing 2 chair trumpet

  • Oh I am from Henry we are playing it this coming Season

  • Honestly, We have never sucked so fucking bad.

    Hah

  • I'm offended by this.....

  • why is the tempo so slow, and i can't hear anything but the trumpets, thats not too good, there needs to be more balance

  • That's a nasty habit of Marching band...Trumpet, being a Large and in Charge insterment, takes over the sound. Most marching bands are like this

  • i never thought a band could sound and march this poorly. if they competed in my city, they'd be laughed out of the stadium. my high school is doing this show this year and this band just butchered it.

  • what school you go to?

  • what state?

  • well there's a few inconsistencies with spacing and ui think low brass and woodwinds should of stood out more and i agree with littlemorenightmusic. could've done a little better on cover...is the beginning suppose to be mf?

  • This is the show we're doing this year!!! I really love the way our band is doing it because we're doing a ton of awesome visuals and fun stuff like that!!! I'm in colorguard and I'm probably going to get to do round offs!!!

  • its cool we did this show last year

  • sorry, the it was 2006-2007 school year, not 05-06

  • wow, we played this show last school year (2005-2006)..

our drill was exactly the same one, except we only had 12 guard and no rifles...well, nice, similar to our band

  • i hated playin that show...wow we were super dirty...probably because we did a show before that one...o and the reason there is no musicality is because it wasnt writtin that way...(i was the center snare player here)

  • gah!, the articulations are way to long...percussion is "say so", and why arent they playing with any musicality? eh im kinda picky with these things...ok hopefully someone will agree with me bye!

  • Honestly... I though it was kinda sloppy, especially during the percussion solo in Urban. Maybe I'm influenced with having seen the score, but yeah...

  • I completely agree. I was also sort of disappointed with A La Lune. My favorite from when we played it 2 years ago.

But whoa you have a lot of color guard :o

  • our band did almost the same exact show (we had to modify it cause 1/2 the band quite!) Yours looks better than what I imagine ours looks and sounds like (I play flute)

  • I love that opener song!

  • cool
