Low interest rates were not the reason we got into the Great Depression the reason we got into the depression was that their were very few rules about how the stock market and banks should be regulated which led to a lot of fraud, over speculation on commodities, insider trading etc.

The PEOPLE cannot have time to find alternatives so they pay an artificially high price for the energy of, in some cases, die. Should Enron have been prosecuted for murder?

I'd object to the notion of the current bill being 'centrist'. The 'center' probably would not support a great deal of the bill's content. There are some things that could be passed today, but there is much that cannot.
On that angle, this particular video is a bit of a miss.
However, if one ignores most of the conservative views and focuses only on the 'big tent' Republicans, then you can kind of make the argument work.

The first, biggest, 'super-left' idea is the notion of simultaneously mandating and subsidizing health insurance.
Neither of those notions are conservative in the slightest. One alone would be bad. Both together is antithetical.
A conservative approach to the issue would be along the lines of more purchasing options, lower prices, and reasonable regulation.

Why would a 20 years old male have to buy a generic policy that covers pap smears and mamograms? When he could buy a policy that covers emergencies and accidents, and maybe some annual checkups. Older people can set individual deductibles on perscription drugs to a level that lowers premimums. And let all health insurance companies compete for business instead of giving a few of them guaranteed income through mandates.

Actually if you now any history the New Deal and Keynesian economics is what got us out of the depresion, a part of history that you conservatives are in denial about. And also if it wasn't for the stimulus package the US would be in another great depression and not getting out of the greatest recession, since the great depression, which was caused by Bush's faulty deregulation policies.

You should look up the multiplier effect, that is why the New Deal worked. Low interest rates were not the reason we got into the Great Depression the reason we got into the depression was that their were very few rules about how the stock market and banks should be regulated which led to a lot of fraud, over speculation on commodities, insider trading etc.

Let's use a REAL scenario. Energy sells for a certain price in CA. ENRON gets CA to DEregulate the price and then artifically restricts delivery using fraud. The PEOPLE cannot have time to find alternatives so they pay an artificially high price for the energy of, in some cases, die. Should Enron have been prosecuted for murder?
SO, Bush did prosecute a FEW of the criminals at ENRON but missed hundreds including some of his later supporters like Rich Kinder, Mick Seidl. WHY?

The real scenerio is how I laid it out.
1. California had strict regulations and capped energy prices. People didn't conserve because prices were artificially low.
2. The California lifted caps on the cost side to let energy suppliers charge producers markets rates.
3. California kept the caps on what energy producers could charge.
4. producers disided not to produce because they would lose money.
Bottom line, Enron couldn't do this without the help of state government.

Energy did sell for a certain price. But Enron didn't get California to deregulate the price of energy. They got CA to left the restrictions on the supply. However, CA in it's infinately liberal/progressive wisdom, didn't want people to pay higher end prices for energy so they kept price caps on what producers could charge. That created the problems in the market that distroyed the system. We seem to be going round and round. Gotta go.

Arrested much of the BUSH administration for treason.
Given a full and complete investigation of the 9-11 attacks and NOT the White Wash under BUSH.
Shut down the insolvent banks and arrested the criminal bankers.

Disbanded the CIA.
Ended the power of the Federal Reserve.
Ended unConstitutional Income Tax.

As of right now I really won't criticize Obama for the wars. He even gave timeline of the withdraw, which to me is better than staying there forever. If he breaks that promise, it's a political suicide for him and will never again get any more support even from liberals.
