itd be nice to have a quality welding machine. i waste argon having to turn the knob on my torch and scratch start. i run 40-75 amps continuous arc. "the puddle and pull technique" works best for me on my cheap arc/tig welder..Nice welding by the way.
Offshore welders earn $2,775.00 per 84 hr. work week. If you would like to weld offshore, or work offshore doing some other job, send to me your email address.
@welderseries Someone is dreaming. These boys on tv shows, who work for the shops that build these custom rods, who can't seem to wear a decent pair of tennis shoes, would like to see $1200.00 per week. I was offered a job many years ago to work at a custom shop dealing with parts, mostly tig welding, and they did not offer me any money like you are boasting here. I have never in my life even seen a job posted by one of these companies offering over $700.00 per week.
Good day, I have an inverter type welder. Is there any way I can mimic the pulse that a foot control offers? Can I puddle and pull back / dip and puddle again instead? Or should I get a welder with a foot control?
I use about 164 amps for 3/16", but the best you can do is experiment. Try different settings and see what you like best... that's how you're going to learn how to do it. Keep working at it! Do you play drums? Drive standard transmission? These will all help your tig weldin.
GREAT! I've just started TIG welding months ago. Which do you consider when choosing how much amp to use? The thinner metal? How much amps for these thickness?
you have to have parts that are fitted together very well. Just aim the tungsten at the joint, and you may have to 'wipe' it from top to bottom to get the top piece to flow into the bottom piece. Just experiment, you'll get it.
ok so im just starting to weld. i am using a arc welder. the ground cord that i use what do i run it to?? like a board or just a metal table that im wellding on??
Whatever you're welding has to be connected to the ground somehow to complete the circuit. If there's something nonconductive between what you're welding and the ground clamp, you'll never be able to weld. It's best to weld on a steel table with the ground clamp clamped to the table.
It's a Lincoln square wave 255, but I don't use the square wave function. I've got my old low profile water cooled torch and a cast aluminum Hobart foot pedal.

I'd best try out your settings first with the thickness you stated. What's your filler's thickness for this?
jauhndabz 3 years ago
1/16"
