I've been lucky enough to have the pleasure to ride on track with James....well I say "ride with", what I actually mean is he outbraked me into Redgate at Donington on a Bennetts trackday a couple of years ago with the back end skipping out. It was awesome to watch and I had the chance to have a brief chat with him, such a nice guy. Gutted he lost his GP ride but hey ho, I'm still wishing him well!
if a honda has 35k miles on it and has been used for track days but has been maintained properly does it still have many miles to go before it starts to break down?
Umm, it would be nice to see the "full-motion" version of the video, instead of the flip-book-type 8fps one. What was it shot with? Is it a YouTube loading problem?
You can hear what a sludgepot that Honda is from the downshifts. Those 600cc tubs are a handful on a point-and-squirt course like Barber (and, alas, the great majority of those on the MotoGP schedule). Would be nice to see the British gentleman doing similar practice laps at, say, Imola, Monza, Hockenheim or Suzuka.
2:25ish....I hardly see people get that uphill offcamber righthander correct. JT did it effortlessly.
Gotta aim for the blind apex and let it shoot you back out. So many people here try to go wide and risk a nasty lowside/highside from getting on the gas too hard while leaned over.
James Toseland is a ledgend, lets hope Tec 3 manage to give him a decent bike in next years Moto GP. He's definately got the talent to challenge for the title given a competetive bike.
i agree with you.. alot of people wouldnt agree going on last years results... they must be forgetting its his 1st year and he was on tyers and a bike that were not the best lets face it
No doubting that's someone of the calibre of JT! Passing people for fun & pinpoint accurate!...... I'll get my CBR to go like that one day....... maybe!
I was tipped off about this vid by a cornerworker at the track when this was filmed. Apparenlty this was a box stock bike including stock DOT's. I'm amazed!
i just turned 18 and im looking to buy a motorcycle for my birthday but i cant make up my mind on which one or a color. Any tips on the perfect motorcycle and color?
yes they are and honda are head and shoulders above the rest with build quality...buy the honda knock 1 tooth off the front sprocket and enjoy...that`s what i did!
the gearing is like a pushbike..cog at the front and cog at the back,by knocking 1 tooth off the front sprocket u get better response from the engine and it accelerates quicker at the expense of a little bit of top speed.i`ve done it on every bike i`ve had because the manufacturers over gear their bikes,if u buy 1 ride it for a while and then get a front sprocket with 1 less tooth on it u will notice a massive difference
the front sprocket is about £15 and takes ten minutes to change,u will only lose about 5mph off top speed but the bike will be far more lively accelerating especially from mid range
are you guy's that bored,or is it that you guy's don't even ride and couldn't even care about a great rider like james toseland and a great track+museum like barber!! dude! it was a fookin joke!
little bitta chatter from the rear into the hairpin he's using A WHOLE LOTTA engine brake!!! over the curb in the roller coaster,WAY WIDE outta every turn almost ran that dude over outta the chicane!!! damm nigga!! funny shit
Sooo, Honda paid him to go out there and show the journalists what the bike could really do? How embarrassing for them, getting schooled like that! Would'a been sick if he'd been on a liter bike.
Oof, ol JT cuts through everyone else on the track like a hot knife through butter. Of course, everyone else out there is a moto journalist so that's only natural...but damn!
The pros are on a whole nother level. Hes passing the other riders on only a 600cc

the 15t front sprocket was the best mod for the money i did.
venton3 3 years ago
I just did the same mod and agree, best cheap mod for a street bike. Low and mid range is a definate improvement
