  • Get them Rhodes!!!

  • is the extended version available on dvd?

  • @capnhands It's a part of the Ultimate Edition. Amazon is selling it right now for just $16.

  • "Are those real brothers or street brothers?" lolol

  • "Hold it there til it spits out at you!" How many times have I told women that?

  • extended version has a way better soundtrack

  • romero is my fav director

  • ah I still love how they punk that rookie cop asking for cigarettes and they all light up when he leaves

  • the radio operator was killed by the other police officers im sure of it.

  • The officer at the boat dock was kinda cross-eyed wasn't he.

  • The guy at 4:23. Didn't he play Capt. Steel in Day of the Dead 1985?

  • @63gstone It was Cpt Rhodes, and yes that is him.

  • @63gstone

He played Rhodes in Day of the dead yes - this was cut out of dawn until extended cuts came out years later, he was dissapointed, but he got a lead role in day so all good ;)

  • @63gstone Capt. Rhodes you mean? Yes he did.

  • Dammit, Tom Savini's so creepily slick in the way he talks (I'm really sure he's playing that looting guy @4:23)

  • "Can we stop and get some?" XD

  • it would suck to not have any cigarettes with zombies running around...

  • I would have given the poor guy a cigarette lol

  • 6:02 i like how they are all worried about ciggaretts when there are freaking zombies out to get them

  • I wish i had the extended version, all I got is the US theatrical version, its cool, but sucks balls compared to this version, the music is alot scarier here.

  • @MrLizardKing96 The box set has this version and the Argento cut. Its pretty cheap now and you can get a used set from Amazon.com.

  • part 2~

    /watch?v=0cXW6gADeSY&feature=related

    /watch?v=N63SN6B62yY&feature=related

  • the remake was darn good, in fact was the best zombie movie of this decade thats the truth.

but nothing like the original its miles miles better than the remake (its a good film alone but compared to the original is shit not the shit just shit)

  • I just think that Romero came out with this at the right time, when malls were just starting to become more commonplace in American culture. I also love how this movie touches on different racial and ethic issues also.

  • @MaryMungoAndMidge1 zombie master no he is a Zombie movie God

  • @kirax10a He certainly is!!!!!!

  • where two

  • lol, "just hold it there till it spits out at you",

she looked at him like wtf

  • i dont like the remake

  • What kind of killjoy can dislike this video?

  • We watched this film in a junior high school's morality class :)

  • Joe Pilato aka (Capt. Rhodes) should have played a bigger role in this movie as one of the main characters.

  • 2:18

    THATS WHAT HE SAID!

  • The zombies in this isn't scary to me...they just looks pale blue-no decaying or anything. still ok movie. my favorite part is when the guy go in the elevator alive and comes out a zombie and the blonde head guy when he raises up dead and the black dude shoots him. dead again.lol

  • @shanefire6 well it isnt scary now because makeup and special effects r better now. but in 1978 this must ve been scary as hell...

  • @DR2fan22 well, maybe the thought of something like this happening...but still not the zombies.they look as if they rolled off the short bus from smurfville. but still an ok movie.

  • A young Joe Pilato (Capt. Rhodes) makes an appearance as one of the rogue cops. I like the scene a lot better in this version. It doesn't make much sense in the theatrical cut.

  • @taterboob He should have won an Oscar for Day

  • @MountMarcyNY I'll second that.

  • anybody notice that dude with the tuque 3:36 at the cop shop is captain rhodes from day of the dead lol

  • Yes he is, I got him because of his tone of voice !!

  • we'd be stuck...

  • Damn, Jimi Hendrix came in with authority at 00:52

  • That blonde chick and the guy in leather jacket make me want to strangle a fucking baby.

  • peter knew it would be tough..but hes one tough mother fo

  • Fuck Starz Media LLC!

  • Fuck!! part 2 is off line, those youtube fuckers and their stupid copyright sit, the one that uploaded this isn't getting any money for uloading the videos

  • @luriomaxx but the creators don't get any money for the viewers not buying the movie smart@ss!

  • why cant we watch part 2?

  • @jabames Part 2 was devoured by zombies.

  • @monkeymagoo47 hahahahaha ahahhaah true

  • @monkeymagoo47 you are an asshole

  • just hold it there till it spits out at you

her face at 2:24 priceless if taken out of context!

  • hey at 4:18 isn't that guy the jackass army in day of the dead?

  • @juralkable so would I. Ben from night of the living dead. Peter from(dawn of the dead) forgot the officer's name(dawn of the dead remake..i think :/) even Robert Neville(I Am Legend) even though he kills himself but saving the boy and mother and killing the alpha male. O_o

  • THIS IS IRRATIONAL WHERE THE FUCK IS PART TWO I DON'T GET A FUCK ABOUT WAS CRACKIN

  • black people are always the best at understanding the best way to survive a zombie apocalypse. If this ever comes real, I'm stikin' with a black dude.

  • @juralkable seriously in all of fomero's movies he tends to make the male leads black. alot of zombie movies have that its like that whole shaft mentality. Find a tough black guy in a zombie apocolypse and ull be fine lol

  • @juralkable Dude, even in Return of the Living Dead, which was kinda a joke zombie movie (but still amazing), the black guy is badass.

  • @juralkable That and country people8B. George Romero's own words. Somethin' about them being able to live off the fat of the land

  • Where the hell is part 2?

  • 3:55 capt. Rose in "Day of the Dead"....

"I'm gonna have my men blow the piss out those precious specimens

of yours and leave you and ya high fa-lootin ass hole friends ta rot in this

stinken sewer....IS THAT FOOD ENOUGH FO YA"???!!!!!

    he did also:

    "CHOKE ON EM.....GAGGAGGGGHHHH...CHOKE ON EM....".

great fucking movie...Dario Argento...eat your heart out.

    5*****

  • @00MORDRED So that's really him?!

  • @00MORDRED Captain Rhodes. Not Rose.

  • @AceProductions91 I knew I should have checked the credits to make sure!!

fuck!!... but it is him nonetheless.

    :o)

  • Was the music in this sequence (The first 35 secs) ever released at all? I've hunted everywhere and no luck. Great upload by the way.

  • I love how Pilato says, "It'd be crazy to start shootin' at one-another, wouldn't it?". -And Roger says, "Sure would," but he has that smirk on his face which seems to say, "Want to anyway?".

Excellent movie, one of the best ever.

  • just hold it there 'til it spits out at you :D

  • Man, why am i craving meat all of a sudden... Turkey legs anyone?

  • @Lerdavian I'm starting to crave ribs. =P

  • @SamND1967 I want live human flesh

  • @BrendanIsCool Crazy guy. =P Lol.

  • IMHO until Mr. Romero gets the full rights to this film i say pirate/exhibit it to the public for free as much as possible. Romero got screwed so its only fair. This film and its creator deserve a fucking legendary award and a ass-load of cash! Fuck Zack Snyder!

  • Probably already been said, but that guy at 4:30, is that Rhodes?

  • @Sangrin80 yep

  • @Sangrin80 From 'Day'? Looks like him. I'm not sure.

  • @SamND1967

    It's him....

  • @00MORDRED Wow. Lol, didn't know that. =D

  • The cop that is asking for cigarettes is one of the worst actors of all time. Or just a complete moron. 5:23-5:50

  • GET TO THA CHOPPA!!!!! XD

  • @angrybob101 XD That made my day.

  • The Officer who recognizes Steve is Captain Rhodes (Joe Pilato)

  • Fuck copyrights, those bastards took every other part off of youtube. People should be allowed to watch older movies like this one for free, considering how easy it is to pirate anyways.

  • Wheres part two ? jesus get it right.

  • this movie is like some bad fan film

  • wheres par 2 and 4?

  • i bought dawn of the dead for like 20p and it was excerlant a master peace but the 1 ive got was the original italian 1.But after when i wached this 1 sure its scraya but the OV is the shit its got evthything the music was better i would stik to the OV.

  • I like the goblin score fore this scene better.

  • WILL SMITH?!

It looks like him // it sounds like'm.

  • 4:02 That's What She Said (How many will that thing hold?)

  • 4:04 That's What She said

  • 4:05 - 4:06 That's what she said!

  • Why the fuck did stars take off the second part?

  • That was the same guy as Captain Rhodes. I have no clue if those other guys were Steel, Rickles, etc. from Day of the Dead.

  • 2:22- 2:24 Thats what she said hahaha

  • @egobrain2x Dude.

    I laughed my ass off.

  • @verystrangegeorge FUCK YOUTUBE!

  • Ken Foree played Charlie the Pimp in Rob Zombies The Devils Rejects Now that was a killer movie

  • Great movie!

  • 5:45 Dddddddddurmmm :B

  • @TheAmicojoe 6:25 "some brothers".... gigglygiggly

  • The actor at 4:19 plays captain Rhodes in Day of the Dead.

  • Where the fuck is part 2

  • @archicad6

    who would watch it?

  • @CarlosOnBroadcast

Same brainless idiots, that watches then now? :)

  • Just like in the script.

  • the black guy at the beginning is from the night of the living dead remake as well nice usage of him

  • @K4zun4 no Ken Foree was not in NOTLD remake.

  • ps

4:24, it took me a while to realize but that's Captain Rhodes from Day of the Dead (1985)

  • good news fellow zombie fans! they are planning to re-release Dawn of the Dead in 3D, they also expressed interest in a Dawn of the Dead 2, and also, MTV has announced that they are making a TV series based on the film!!!!!!!

  • @ZombieBiohazard thx, Zombie news is always good news

  • Alot better than the remake.

  • i think da women is a little racist

  • where is part 2?

  • Comment removed

  • I can remember the first time I ever watched this Flick. That was years ago when I was only a Kid.I have kept on thinking about it on and off for years since,so it did leave it's mark on me.A very good Idea and a very good Film thanks for uploading it.

This is better (I think) than Flesheaters and the other gore fests which took the genre way too far to the sick end of the market.

  • LMAO they ALL had cigarrettes

  • At 3:55- 4:00 stephens face is like oh

  • Why were zombies in the basement all gathered together like that? That was so erry that black guy was right "jesus christ" lol

  • @tien714 well because the people in the building were not gonna give up thier undead love ones so the swat came in and tokk care of that probelm. They explain why at 1:20 -1:25

  • Sick people. They didn't fully explain it.

  • @tien714

that's where they gathered the dead when they died, i guess for last rites. they probably weren't counting on them coming back.

  • 0:02 looks like a zombie is eating an apple lol

  • Makes me wish i was born back then so i could have possibly been in one or more of George A. Romeros' classic zombie films, this guy is a genius when it comes to psychological horror.

  • Good eye. I caught that too the first time I saw him a theifing away. If he doesn't watch it (like 30 years ago) he'll be stereotyped as the one of the first to go crazy in zombie lore

  • That cop at 4.30 is the same actor who played the military guy leader in Day of the Dead in the 80's asshole then and now looks like

  • why havent more people said sumthin about rhoads being in this movie u would be bigger newz lol

  • @darkcoyote42 'I'm running this monkey farm now Frankenstein and I wanna know... what the fuck youre doing with my time?'

  • @mrshef666

haha day of the dead was awesome too.

I can't beleive the scenes in this i never knew. read the original screen play though.

  • People arguing on the internet is such an eyesore.

  • The great George A. Romero now lives in Canada!.

  • This movie was the BOMB back in it's day. We were warned about it at school and everything. That's urban legend stuff!

I recommend anyone that didn't like it the first time watch it again. Romero did some cool stuff on a small budget.

    RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're nuts, This film (That's righ I called it a film) is the inspiration for other Zombie movies.

This film was Elvis to the Beatles.

You need to open your eyes man!@serappia

  • @donovan, LOL don't think so.

  • I think it's more of a stand alone avant-garde political/social commentary, testimony to all of cinemas underlying grind-house exploitations.

It didn't pave the way for zombie films as much as it paved the way for artistic acceptance of the under appreciated. Be it Giallo, Chambara, Mondo, or any other expression of film that could other wise be slandered as "trash".

  • @donovan1971 I agree. Inspired all of the Italian 80's zombie movies and countless others.

  • @donovan1971 You're awesome! Keep up the good work!

  • @donovan1971 right right...and it opened the door for alot

of zombie horror writers!! checkout "day by day armageddon".

great book!! (inspired by this film)

  • @00MORDRED well maybe not this movie...but the whole

tactical zombie survival story so far...is best done by

J.L.Bourne....I watched this movie when I was like 10 yrs old...

UNCUT and UNEDITED...it was fuggin disturbing...

    :o)

  • @donovan1971 yes i agree an inspiration to many and so wAs night of the living dead

  • 'or any other expression of film that could other wise be slandered as "trash".

    It is TRASH!!

  • Only to a layman's eye. This is a film about the fabric of consumer culture and it's societal paradigm. It's brilliant in every scene. Don't just see this film, watch it. The subtext is utter genius.

  • @serappia this is like the old Tv, before the plasma and HD, what you spect in 1978?

  • That one dude in the pilot coat looks like Hugh Lowery(House) doesn't it!?

  • where is part 4 and when did the cops meet the reporters?

  • Best movie ever.

  • @livee89 is so right

  • @livee89 Yep. No doubt.

  • @livee89 Without a doubt - just watched it last night on Blu-Ray - I love the Film Facts - and if you watch it with subtitles, you can pick up on a lot more of the dialogue during the television broadcasts! A classic!

  • @etherwanger You've got that right! It's so awesome. Awh no way - I've been meaning to get it on Blu-Ray...'We got this man, we got this by the ass!!!' My all time favourite movie x

  • The scenes where Roger kept shooting his revolver at the zombies after Pete's gun ran out & the confrontation between Steve & Fran vs, the rogue cops were cut in the theatrical version. At 3:40 Joe Pilato, aka Captain Rhodes from Day of the Dead makes his cinematic debut.

  • @51: Jesus Christ! Sorry we're late, we were going to ambush them in this dumbwaiter!

Seriously, where did he come from? Was it mentioned in Part 2?

  • Ed: It is racist to choose oversensitivity and staying seperated based on race lke so many people do. I can't tell why racism is practiced so much more so after we already bonded together in the 1970's in America. We seem to be taking a large step backwards socially calling a scene from a film as this racist. Definately proves there is a shift in perception. It seems to be in the wrong direction. Lost cause because it is a slide in generations perception. Seperated & equal again. WTF/"Y"

  • I was young but alive when this movie was in theaters. I remember the times back then. I know it sound funny, but it wasn't racist. It was righteous. I am sorry people lost so much in the last 20 years in terms of social understanding and sense of self pride. We used to party hard together and cared more for each other. This movie was a statement for it's time. It is a statement for today. A social statement. It is not racist to identify differences. It is to stay seperate as so many do

  • @acent2112 ... AGREEED! Differences are GOOD and we shouldn't be scared of them. Without differences humanity (nature) would become just a big incest. Differences are the key in a biological way, but also in a social way. If we were all the same... where would fun be?

  • hunny its called a classic. thats how movies are.

  • @raptorking156 ... I would have to blame your parents for your exisyance but I won't. Take responsability.

  • did he leave out part 2

  • Part 2 was removed.

  • 0:06 lmao

  • It's sort of neat how the renegade police captain asks, at 4:03, about how many persons the helicopter will hold. That same actor plays Capt. Rhodes in Day of the Dead and tries to make off, at the point of a gun, in the helicopter in that film. It seems almost like a foreshadowing, but it's highly improbable that Romero planned in this way.

  • "real brothers or street brothers?" LOL...she might as well ask him if it's true that black men all have big cocks....this is a racist ass movie

  • @MsLoveMe27 its just a good depiction of how ppl thought back then this movie aint racist, just some ppl r racist so they put em da movie

  • Why is that racist? Most people tend to use "brothers" in the familial sense of the word while many blacks use "brothers" as a term for another black man, related or not. Should they have worked a diversity coach into the script to pacify overly sensitive people like you?

  • It was just a joke...and you had to write a whole paragraph about it so who's the sensitive one?????
