Thanks much from Montreal ! I started watching your vids a while ago, then bookmarked and quit studying for a while, now planning to start again and I forgot how great your vids are !
Mr Andrew i have a question can u tell me any tips on how to improve my hand motion when i play chords?u know i don't wanna just bang on the keys but make the sweet motion u do and are there any exercices which will help me improve this area?
You are so cool, charming and the nicest person ever awws. I loved that big smile at the end of Minute Waltz it made me laugh and i was like "Yeah! he nailed it again!" haha! i'm only at basic piano but i want to be able to play for myself, i've not been learning lately really :( i need to keep going, i can actually learn from you because despite everything your always happy and fun and i love that about you because your personality is similar to mine, i'm always hyper and jolly like that lol.
I feel your pain, I had major problems with my arms, and was unable to play for almost 2 years when I was 19 years old. I made a complete recovery after a year or more a physical therapy and I hope you can do.
I had no idea you were going through this. It's really good to see you have recovered so far as to be able to play that piece and I can imagine what it must have meant to you. I wish you all the best, man. PS lol@the ending, Need for Speed Underground much? haha
Andrew, it's great that you're eating healthier now... An excellent source of information on nutrition is the book "Eat to Live" by Joel Furhman. Not that you
need to lose weight, but following the guidelines of eating suggested by his
book I lost 50 pounds, lowered my blood pressure to below 120/80, and have
all my cholesterol in the healthy range. Thank you for taking the time making
@RemovdSande11 I am sure he is. I also take piano lessons although I must admit I haven't watched a video in a week now and I feel so guilty. But anyhow, you're amazing Andrew. Keep it up.
Thanks for the reply RemovdSande11 I usually don't post comments on youtube and I wasn't expecting a reply. This is fun:)
I meant the vlog one. The main one has a lot of videos and music theory to last me for a very long time:)). But it's nice to hear your opinons on some things and when you are excited about something....doesn't really matter about what. It's just nice.
i could meet you and hug you( dont freak out ) and thank you so much :) i hope i could keep this motivation up:) im preparing for a big audition thanks to you:)and also, i do pray that you will be in tip top shape and better soon:), you inspire people in everything, not just music:) your will is very commendable... bye:) take care, i hope i dont seem like crooning your shoes :) greetings from malaysia:)
now i do think that you are one of the important person that changed my life:)... im 15, kind of an unorthodox age for becoming a prodigy let alone horowitz:)( but i do hope so, anything can happen:)and i will keep being realistic)) well if not for you , i dont think i would be motivated enough to start piano and delve into the world of music,:) i dont even know theres such thing called as interval and octave in music:), seriously i do hope one day
As soon as I watched this video, I read your bio. I think your story should appear on a book called "The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything ".
Tendinitis and other [musician] ailments always get me worried. I know that feeling of disappointment and helplessness. Glad to know you recovered and experienced that satisfaction and relief while getting your life back, good sir.
I Pray That You Fully Recover, and I hope that you get the chance to Rerecord "Polonaise in A♭ Major" !!! You Are So Blessed..... Get Your Much Needed Rest and Relax, anything you are able to Give, We Greatly Appreciate it!!!! :-)
There I was going through your great theory videos when I found your Minute Waltz video. What I love about it is how relaxed your fingers, hands and arms are. Now I find this blog and I could about cry! Isn't it amazing how many calories a pianist can burn up? There's a reason that polonaise leaves the piano covered with sweat. LOL! Keep up the healthy work - we want to hear more from you. :-)
One of my goals is to eat more healthy foods. Every time I watched your videos it always makes me smile. I'm happy your doing better. I wish you good luck on your next piece! Don't give up, but take care yourself.
hi Andrew i´m from southamerica and i´m in my 3rd year in a medic school, so u know, the heart it´s amazing take care of yours and u gonna get better really quick...all of us will be supporting u ... see u take care
Thanks for sharing. I am recovering from three dislocated fingers. I play guitar, not the piano yet. This video has encouraged me to be patient because it will work out. I like your music theory lessons. Thanks again.
You'll get better, you can do it *Thumbs up* Ever play 'Eternal Sonata for the 360 or PS3? It's an rpg and Chopin is like one of the main characters in the game, lol. It has a couple of Chopin pieces, I first heard Minute Waltz from that game, and your playing of it was great. Anyway maybe you could enjoy that game to chill yourself out lol. Cheers for your lessons too. :D
How do you live? I mean how you pay your medicines, your katanas, and everything else? Do you live off as a piano teacher or your parents still help you?
It's very good that you are on the road to recovery and, it's great advice you are sharing with folk about nutrition and the need for recovery time. Your comment about a balance in life is very true. It's all too easy for people of all ages to burn themselves out by driving themselves with perfectionism!
I'm glad your back...I moved so I no longer have a piano teacher and I totally forgot everything I was taught...Apparently teacher didnt have effective teaching...I learn more from you.
Hi Andrew, I'm very glad that you are feeling better. I have been watching your videos and there is nothing else like it out on the web. I am trying to further my piano playing and your instruction is second to none. I have the same arm issues you do, but a little worse. Add carpel tunnel syndrome and bursitis to the mix and it gets even more difficult to play for an extended period of time. You are showing me how to overcome this issue. Keep up the excellent work, the world needs you!
@Lypur haha that rx7 is a drift king!, but i guess the miata is more fun because its convertible , cool thing about mazdas is the Wankel rotary engine
Thanks much from Montreal ! I started watching your vids a while ago, then bookmarked and quit studying for a while, now planning to start again and I forgot how great your vids are !
