maybe i exadgerated a bit.... i just thought you were supposed to keep it around 2500 revs until the metal had fully expanded and warmed up...... but maybe i was thinking of 4 strokes because when they are cold the oil is sitting at the bottom and you dont get lubrication
That is nothing for this bike. Check out other video's about a RD500, then you will know and hear how much they can rev. My RD has its red line about 10.000 rpm. When it is hot i'll go to 12.000 without a problem. Use the right 2-stroke lub! I agree when it is cold you should treath it as a baby...
By the way mine has a broken piston after 2 years of driving it like a madman. When the engine is rebuild i'll put some vids on my Youtube channel a51stef.
Easy with that kicker man..!!!

never trust a oil mix system the only time you know if it doesnt work is when the engine is fucked thats why i always put the oil in the tank

It's natural for the bike to smoke.total loss oiling system. From the looks of it he has disconnected the oil pump and is running premix

going over the redline is not recommanded, even when the engine's hot. this is to limit the risks of overheating and piston failures.

people rev them to "clean them up".....they are embarassed of all the smoke when cold and are trying to get rid of it!!
