There's a version of this song in 2006 where he improvises in "Misty" and a request for the first song he'd ever written, and he's telling the story while he's playing, never missing a beat. Maybe there are technically better players, but his playing is *exciting*.
ah yes, the köln concert is quite amazing, very similar "spider fingers" technique as well as matching notes exactly with vocal bursts. They are in the same league for sure, do you have any Jarrett vids to post?
He is the single greatest piano player that's ever lived - Before, now, and After. He IS the standard of piano playing for all time. Period. The best, the greatest.

But Anthony Berger could do every bit of what Bruce Hornsby could do and then some. A lot of people don't know who Anthony Berger is, but he was an amazing pianist, he died at age 39 in the year 2006.

I've met him several times, and have a few photos together. A really great one my friend shot as he kissed me hello. Perfect timing, you couldn't stage it if you tried. He signed it another time afterwards with "What a Kiss!" Can't say about the sex part, though, although he does have twin sons. Lovely man, absolutely brilliant musician, and a great kisser as well! :-) ~ always Love You Bruce!
