I love that they are dancing to my favorite song Benimana, Thank God for Urukerereza, I have been watching them ever since I was a little boy and I can't get enough of it
@ChristianInHollywood no I love dancing, I just wanted to let you know that your comment was stupid, go back and read it. that Hutu are inkotanyi? really do you even know what you are saying? you seem to be confused!!
@erwin5us Yes, the Tutsi told me Hutu are inkotanyi which means they don't dance the same. Apparently the Hutu dance with machetes, in a dance group called interahamwe. If you don't like dancing, don't watch the videos.
@ChristianInHollywood wow, ok I can't believe someone told you such a thing, don't you realize that's fully of bigotry? please don't say that again, I don't even know what to say because what they told you is stupid, oh my God, please google Interahamwe and Inkotanyi, Interahamwe is not a dance, not even close and those who called themselves Inkotanyi are not hutus. There are no Rwandan people who dance with machetes, Hutus and Tutsis almost dance the same way.
@erwin5us I'll google it but I'm told by Tutsi students that every few decades the Hutu inkotanyi style dancers in the interahamwe dance group pick up their machetes and go into a three month long dance festival that involves the entire country's Hutu population dancing inkotanyi while listening to the national radio RTML that broadcasts the typical national Rwandan songs. In Indore dancing the Tutsis dance with spears instead of machetes and some times wear white wigs. Hutus wear colourful wigs
@ChristianInHollywood Inkotanyi means heroic fighter, it doesn't mean one who dances with knives, you have been lied to. Please send me a message to my inbox and I will be more than happy to explain this stuff to you and I will be honest since I got both Hutu and Tutsi blood in me. those students who told you that are just bigots, shame on them
@erwin5us also the word inkotanyi is supposed to mean "one who dances with knives". I'm a dance student and we haven't started learning about Rwandan dances yet, at the moment we are studying Zulu dancing
