I almost know nothing about AJAX and jQuery. I know a tiny bit more about CI (aka I watched the introductory videos :P), but with all that grand, omniscient knowledge I possess I have to say: this part was awesome and understandable despite the quick copy and pasting. I didn't care about laggy framerates or whatever, I'm watching a tutorial not an action/thriller hollywood movie.

One note: I do know (X)HTML a bit of javascript and a bit of PHP.

Your Framerate is sooooo laggy :/

@winfr34k Come back in an hour or so and watch it in 720p full screen. It should be perfect. I literally just loaded this!

@Verbloten It's already available in 720p. It still changes nothing about the framerate. Your video seems to have like ~12 fps, which is too low. Go 30fps and all will be smooth.

@winfr34k Mmm OK. I don't notice any problem really.. I'm just typing stuff! But you are right it's actually 5 FPS. This way I can record for 30 minutes and it's only a 200MB file :) Next video I will up the framerate to 15 just for you (this is a great sacrifice because it means it will use more of my HDD, more of my bandwidth and more of my time to upload)... The things I do for lovers of Codeigniter huh :)

What about trying to transcode the video with mediacoder to MP4? That way you'll save some space too.

@psybaron I've never had anyone shout "FIRST" on one of my videos before! Thanks mate :) I literally just posted this thing! Part 2 is done - 29 minutes long - going to try and post it now and hopefully youtube let me! Then there will be 1 or 2 more parts to this one to finish it off...
