@jatt2000 play they game and you might be able to relate to who they made the fear into the real world...the gams are pretty awesome! I recommend part 2 and 3 of the video game.
Silent Hill is defiantly scarier than the Resident Evil movies. Resident Evil went for more of the jumpy Matrix style shoot em up, whereas Silent Hill stayed true to it's roots in psychological horror. Plus the surprise ending that leaves fans guessing. eventhough Silent Hill didn't stay accurate to the game, it still held the same atmosphere and a few of the same characters. But why they couldn't use Harry Mason and save Pyramid Head for the sequel? I don't know

i saw it at the theater and was very scary with the sorround, i love this movie , the bad news is , if you saw it in dvd is not the same, unless you have a theater in home and play it at night.
I thought it was a very good attempt at an adaptation from the game - it cant be easy to re-create the surreal atmosphere of the games.
I think the DIrector did a great job, but I think I would have loved Clive Barker and David Lynch to have collaborated on it. That to me would provide the perfect balance of surrealism and imagination.

no silent hill is just has 3 layers. 1 normal layer, 1 foggy hard to see in layer, and 1 hellish demonic layer. Silent hill is basicly hell in 2 layers. You are punished for your sins in silent hill, and you cannot leave silent hill once you go in.

to me this movie wasnt scarey at all it was actually sort of boring which is a shame cas the games are scarey as shit and they are awsome. i wanted the same from the movie but they didnt deliver.

why do all this ppl find it not scary, im almost 20 and it scared me when i was watching it, especially the end....imagine staying in this scary world forever.i know im pretty sensitive, but some ppl seem to be too cold. or maybe its the media that shows violence all the time.

Well i would'nt say that Silent Hill is that scary. And well on the other hand, not to boast but i have nerves of steel so i dunno, to some ppl this movie is scary and to some its not. But to me its not that scary, its more sad if you ask me =)

When Rose and Cybil when in the room with the fan and Pyramid Head come Rose should have shut up. If she hadn't of kept screaming he could have thought nobody was there and left. They could have gotten out quicker to. Horror films always do that! They scream and make the monster come or they run towards it. I mean, why? Whats the point? Stupid directors. They make everybody stupid so they die or get hurt.
