Would have been our wedding song if we didn't elope on a beach in Osterville, Cape Cod....
Can still remember the first time I heard this song sitting in my man's 1968 Olds 442 Ragtop in his parent's driveway......on cassette....it was the spring of 1978......almost hard to believe...32 years....
I was selling nitrous at that show. Got busted next show in Long Island. Hempstead pigs swooped in on me when I wasn't even selling any nitrous. Took my tanks, spent the night in jail. Bailed out a bunch of Deadheads with money I stashed in my sneaker. Then they called me two months later and told me to come pick my tanks and balloons up.
Yeah, the Fat Man does rock my soul. BTW, I still have an '89 tour shirt that was made by a tour-head.... on the front it has Jerry & Bobby dressed as Fatman and Bobbin' (masks and everything), they are swinging from a rope. On the reverse it has a Batman logo and the wording is "Holy Cow Fatman, it's Summer Tour Again!" Did anyone ever see that shirt? If my memory is correct, I got the shirt on the Spring tour.
