I would sit the whole show just to see gene . I have been searching for another good bit that they did ..he was a reocurring contestant called the sockless x-rated Dancer ..he would get introduced and then they would just close the curtain on him lol..great stuff

I love the fact that these comedians and entertainers were so laid back in those days with a phenomenal sense of humor. Today's shows such as "America's Got Talent" and "American Idol", those celebrities take themselves way to seriously (Simon "The Scowl" Cowell is a perfect example).

Pure classic genius. Chuck Barris even added to the hilarity of the proceedings with his dance moves. Never could understand why many were and still are very critical of The Gong Show. By far one of the best "reality" shows past and present.

Thank you Chuck, Gene, Jaye P., arte, Jamie, et al for some of the best of CLASSIC TELEVISION.

I completely agree. I loved this show! Everything became a running bit - Gene, the Unknown Comic, the judges - it was all like a fun inside joke. You had to watch every episode.
