@brazwen I have a JB in my Les Paul custom in the bridge, and a fat strat with a 59 humbucker in the bridge, and I was considering put a 59 in the Les Paul as well for more bite..it seems great for the GNR rock tone
how well does the 59 bridge clean up when you lower the volume on your guitar when its distorted? cause I'm thinking of putting one in a guitar im building thatll only be having a bridge pickup.
How the heck are we supposed to hear how nice (or not) this pickup sounds when you're playing it all distorted and dirty? With those settings we can't tell a lovely PAF from 6 nails wound with doorbeel wire. Go back, clean it all up (even if you don't normally play that way) and play it clean for us.
@Koreanflow Haha, it means that it's got a very heavy, powerful sound-basically I'm just saying how much I like the distorted tones you're getting outta that Les Paul :]
Great man! I did not know that somebody also has the 59 and alnico 2 pro combo!!!
I tought I was the only one who thought of that. Thanks for the video man. Now I know that even lower output pickups can still sound great when cranked!
Sorta, like The Guitareater's question, but I want to know if these work for a Van Halen sound. I can already tell they're good for Gn'R, but is it good for Van Halen, and maybe some Stevie Ray Vaughan? I have an Ibanez RG350DX, but I may buy a Les Paul and put these pickups in the Les Paul.
I was going to ues this combo but I wanted to have a more bluesy hard-rock tone, so i had a 59 in the neck and a JB on the bridge. Both the combos sound good on a Les Paul.
@ACletthereberockDC to my ears there is a big difference. Those pickups dont sound anything alike to me. The jb pickups is more the "alice In Chains" tone. I definitely prefer the JB but they are both great pickups.
@asianaxeman If you play it in a band situation its perfect. if it had the top rolled off you wouldnt be able to hear it above the drummer. thats the trouble with auditioning guitar sounds with no other instruments.
Qual me recomenda?
@marcelopampolha yeah I think it is good too. I am getting 2 alnico 2 pros but this video put consideration for the 59 pickup in my mind. 59 actually sounds pretty close to the alnico but the alnico has more of a bluesy feel you can even tell by listening to recordings of gnr and comparing it to the 59. But overall the 59 is still a really good pickup.
@marcelopampolha this kinda off topic, but i couldn't help noticing that you're the only person i've seen play the recommend way. (with the thumb behing the neck) Well, you play very well like that.
Uso 0.10 ! Qualquer coisa a mais, pode perguntar! Abraço
you have to try this: 6l6 tubes...resonance switch to down...presence 8...bass 4...mid 9...treble 8...master vol 3...gain 5...drive 7! It's cool man. Try and tell me after it. Thanks!

Tell me something, how do the 6l6s in this amp compare to EL34s if you have tried both.
You sold me on this amp. Most other videos of this amp have people playing fluttery crap metal while you just rock it out as its meant to be.
Sounds like a marshall for sure, just better than anything they've come out with in a while
b1gnasty69 1 year ago
@b1gnasty69 Man...with this amp, I can play rock n roll, Hard and Metal...it is a versatile amp!
I have a EL34 kit at home (came with the amp) , but I switched immediately when I bought the amp.
I remenber, that it was less versatile than the 6L6. I think if only you play HEAVY, go with EL34. But if you want a versatile amp, go with 6L6.
I prefer 6L6 tubes...

But, you can´t go with the same tone, cause Gibson has another wood.
