@Simplicios I think that most people define a "fight" as a combat between two people where both realize that it's time to defend & attack each other before the 1st contact. Capoeira doesn't teach someone to fight, it teaches them how to mug someone by hitting them with a sucker punch or kick. I've studied Tang Soo Do for years. If someone dances around & then kicks me in the face then he better knock me into a coma, because when I get up is when the real fight begins & the dancing ends

capoeria is a great marcial art, but many people now, do more acrobatic stuff instead real fight. I trained 5 years in capoeira, and the instructor always say that acrobatic tactics are useless in a real fight. But If you see Capoeira Angola, there are many grappling, and knees and elbows movements. Not air kicks.

the fight doesn't involves blood... in Capoeira you show what you could do to the opponent without actually doing it.

They could easily hit each other with the very low backflip. This means two kicks on you backside of your head. Gives you headache for a while :-)

And you feel pwnd when you 'fight' with a mestre even if he never hits you or makes you fall.
