but Tim is very amazing and the ability to make it sound like there are two guitars going is the key to a great player. Tommy Emanaul, Chet Atkins, Andy Mcgee, Mississpi John Hurt,....all have this ability.

I think Tommy Emmanuel, Andy McKee, Tim Reynolds, etc. all have very different styles. I think they're all pretty much the best at their own styles, but comparing them is hard. In terms of skill, they're all pretty much equal. Chord changes are fast and complex, fingerpicking skill is perfect, they all use harmonics skillfully, they all can write amazing stuff, the list goes on and on. I listen to, like and admire all of them equally, personally.

Personally, DMB is alright, but I will always prefer Dave and Tim versions as opposed to DMB.

Tim Reynolds is most definitely NOT considered a part of Dave Matthews Band. Tim is a solo artist, has his own band named TR3, duets with Dave Matthews and they almost exclusively plays Dave songs when they're together, Tim has also been known to tour and duet with Marcus Eaton.

Check the website kids, Tim Reynolds is NOT listed as a member of DMB, but a FRIEND, aka Tim and Friends.

Tim found Dave -who was just a bartender with dreams, and introduced him to the local musical scene. He said he didn't want to join Dave in a band- he has his own, the TR3, but could see that Dave needed his own for all the songs he was writing, and creative expression. Tim WILL tour with the DMB this year- summer. Tim just doesn't want to join DMB officially. I like this sound with just Tim and Dave the best most times b/c of Tim's guitar skills. I love some DMB songs b/c of the fiddle! :)

In what way???Beauford's an amazing drummer,& 1 of the best ever.Dave's an amazing rhythm guitar player & basically reinvented acoustic rhythm playing & took it to a new level.Stefan is a fantastic bass player who has really grown an become a real monster,& they write really great songs,w/all sort of different time sigs,odd chord changes & great melodies.Not to mention Dave is a pretty great lyric writer.If u don't like them,I can understand,but ANY musician can clearly see they can really play-

I have been amazed at the stuff I have been able to learn for players who are a little clumsier than I. The thing is, well, PERCEPTION. People perceive sounds in all kinds of way, and then process the sound thru their idiosyncrasies and give it back to us in different way. That is why a song perform live is always a new song.
