This movie is what you call a "mockumentary". It's kind of like a story based on facts, except the facts are a part of the story as well. The human psyche can handel a horror story but giving people the impression that it may happen to you makes it twice as spooky. It's kind of the "Blairwitch effect". The fact that Blair Witch was a home cam moving around made it almost seem like a real documentary and even though you never see the witch it freaked the bejesus out of people. Same idea here.

It states there that the real Abigail Tyler was indeed also played by an actress, and not Abigail Tyler, as you would expect was she a real person.

The Fourth Kind is a science fiction horror movie and is based on the expansion of J. Allen Hyneck’s classification of close encounters with aliens.

Ok, the actress playing as the actual abigail..is also an actress like Milla...BUT... I read that this really happened to a woman psych...her name is NOT Abilgail tis the reason u won't find anything in the med journal...and they could not get the real woman out to interview because of health..so they hired a woman similar looking to her. The director got the story from a friend who had contact with the actual person and story...

the story could be real but the movie is all 'acting'.. if you cant tell by the 1st few 'actual' scenes, then it becomes obvious when they show the guy kill his family, the ufo above the house, the leviations, face distortions, alien speech, and then they all know her husband killed himself but dont tell her till the end..? what was up with that..? then it kinda got turned into a 'god' and 'demon' type movie.. oh well, it was still kinda scary..

Ok so i saw the movie this past weekend, i used to be a big believer in UFOs and Aliens... saw every single specials on tv and x-files, etc. Most of those can be argued to be fictional and for entertainment use. I just have one question after watching the movie, the Aliens speak of Sumerian language, or from what i made out an 'alien' language to human this day and age. If 'they' are so advanced and intelligent why aren't they speaking in clear English?

Too bad Dr. Roger Leir's work is nowhere mentioned in and around this topic. He claims to have removed 13 implants from 12 people. All of these people had the obduction story to tell. The implants are examined(!). I reccomend visiting the site: Alienscalpel for a broader platform of discussion.

Btw the movie was is very entertaining and well worth to watch. True or not... pretty childish question, grown-ups should be able to bear anything that is trown upon them. What can it mean??

I have not heard anything regarding nome and implants and I would be very skeptical if I did considering everything else on the movie regarding nome specifically and all the holes in the story. I make a point out of disbelieving anything my senses fail to pick up. Considering E.T. I've come to the point where i need to know what it is all about. Since nothing conclusive is clear on this subject it means it can mean anything. @carlamaeable il disagree when you say "grown-ups should be able to bear anything that is trown upon them." Younger people/ naive people would more likely accept the appearance of ETs. Grown ups have set ideas and thoughts later in life and once something dramatic as an alien appearance is announced they wont believe it. i watch pheonix lights appearance interviews. almost all the grown ups couldnt accept what they were seeing while the young people accepted it straight away as a UFO.

But the thing about this movie and phenomenon, is that when you go under hypnosis you open your mind and body to all outside forces (demons, etc.) and the thing starts calling itself a "spirit from which you can't escape" and it calls itself God. which is more the tale-tale sign of a Demon... Pychologists have said that they have no record of her. But I still believe that these abductions happened and that the FBI did investigating and they couldn't find out why. I'm glad that you created this fact or fiction of the fourth kind. I do believe some of the movie is true. For my good reasons why, the real Abigail was talking about some people she knew. The people who had their names omitted. Plus, the real Abigail to me really looked like she'd been through such shit. I saw pain and fear in her eyes too. In the movie it does not show the guy actually killing himself, you just hear the shot. You are correct though, it all depends but I have seen some pretty graphic police videos not for public tv viewing.

Overall, people claim to see UFO's. Overall, some people claim they are abducted. And Yes, Overall the movies claims are correct depending on what you believe however, I do not believe that these events occurred in Nome Alaska and the movie was all fake including the archival footage. I spoke with the Fairbanks News and they support that it has been fake from the start. (the movie)
