The U.S.A. right now can't save anyone because it's under a leader with Socialist Ideals. Until we elect a REAL LEADER that backs the actual Constitution of The U.S. And how it was written , good luck world.
@Stevlul Are you fucking kidding me? So you want a Republican who's religiously orientated? Someone who will discriminate and persecute instead of trying to do the best with what they've got and bringing everyone along as equally as is in their current power to do so?
Even tho Boston made truckloads of money, they gave alot of it to various charities, and stood up for the poor and disadvantaged people of the world as well as animal rights, and many environmental issues. Hence this song. They were much different than the other rock bands who were only in the music business purely for the money aspect of it - and the fame of course. I admire Boston. Always have, always will. BOSTON YOU ROCK!!!
Don't understand why Tom is criticizing Corporate America. It was "Corporate America" that made Tom and Brad lots of money!! In an interview Brad Delp(who had an apartment in 1976) told is accountant after sales of the debut lp took off, that he wanted to buy a house. The accountant 's response was. "Oh yeah, how many?"
@wilx218x Sorry it was music fans that bought the albums not corporate america...Bostons stuff was recorded on their own without the politics involved in alot of other releases...and even if it was, the the crap musicians have to go to the get the music out there is still alot to complain about.
So wonderful to see this live. You really get the feeling of what and where Boston was headed. No, it ain't you childhood Boston but if Brad would have lived I truely think Boston would have had one hell of a second coming. Bless you Mr. Delp for a life time of wonderful music , you are and will always be forever missed. Rest in peace Brad "BOSTON" Delp
no see if you watch fran sang most of the high leads til that last note where brad started it and fran jumped in half way thru to help end the song. fran has a great voice.... rip brad
CORPORATE AMERICA SUCKS..IT EXPLOITS, DESTROYS PEOPLE, LIVES, THE ENVIORNMENT ALL FOR THE GOOD AND THE BENEFIT OF THE RULING CLASS...WE WORK TO MAKE THOSE M.FU..KERS RICH, THINK OF THAT..THINK OF THE UNEQUAL DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH AND RESOURSES IN AMERICA...THANX TO THE RICH...EAT S...T ALL OF U...IF U WERE TO REDISTRIBUTE WEALTH EVENLY, WE'D ALL BE WORTH ABOUT $60K EACH...WHATS WRONG WITH THAT????????TAX THE RICH, FEED THE POOR TIL THERE ARE NO RICH NO MORE, 10 YRS AFTER...SO CORRECT...PETE....
@MrFreespeech01 Dude, no it wasn't. They weren't talking about the Bilderberg's or Bohemian Grove. They were talking about how corporate america uses there profits to influence who gets into the white house influencing policy formation to help get there products sold around the world using cheap labor and capitalizing on people's poverty. Alex Jones is a dumbass. There's no formal conspiracy, it just how the system works. The richest 2% have the power, and use. Class Warfare, not NWO.
this song is about what we as humans are doin to this eart, and most of tom's songs are about, love peace, lookin forward and walk on and don't look back, i just wish tom could get things right with barry and fran!!! love you tom, but what does it take to be a man???
Never gonna forget Brad, totally unique voice with one of the most harmonic bands i will probably ever hear in my lifetime. May he rest in peace, he wont be forgotten...

Boston is so worthy of the hall of fame so many problems and still push ahead.I've been to America and wish the media would step out of the way a bit.I really don't care about the left & right wing stuff did management and unions decide what the wage would be over lunch?I don't know if that's true there's a lot of good in USA but you can ruin it like every place else. Please don't do that, revolutia can happen everywhere, places like Russia are on the mend don't be judged by your self destruction.
This song was a triumph on Tom's part to bring the Boston sound into the 21st century. I didn't think it could be done, but the sound is amazing. But, the reason this song won't appeal to mass audiences is the same problem that affects many old rockers. They lose their talent for allegory and the lyrics become too literal. This has happened to Fleetwood Mac also. If you want to hear a REAL Boston song with some of the same themes as Corporate America, listen to Hitch A Ride instead.
I remember hearing this song when it came out, and it blew me away..... The guitarwork, bass, drums, and vocals from everybody were just perfect.
I found myself wondering why the heck this song wasn't a number 1 hit ????
For myself, I totally disagree with Mr Scholz's politics, but I've ALWAYS respected his, and Brad delp RIP, and ALL of the band's musicanship and professionalism!!!!!!!!
I gotta be honest, since Tom usually does everything but the vocals and/or drums in the studio, I think this is staged. I don't really recall a lot of times when Tom works in the studio with the full band...
Fantastic song, but why Scholz still stubbornly keeps using the worst sounding drum machines in history is beyond me! The guy is a fantastic producer so why can´t he hear that those drums sounds terrible!
Hey, the TR-808 doesn't exactly sound like a real kit, but it works for hip-hop. The drum machine may not be a perfect replica of drums, but maybe Tom felt it sounded better for the song. I've engineered recordings with drums, and I tell you what, the raw sound, unless you have an almost inhuman drummer with perfect dynamic control, a little bit of processing is needed to make it fit in the overall production. I guess for Tom, the machine worked best for this one. A bit of Corporate America? ;)
boston needs to do more videos. love the ending where brad and fran hit those high notes together. what a team!! brad is gone rip but we still have fran, tom needs to bring fran back!!!!
Boston is my favorite band, and I've posted on this video saying I couldn't get into this song, but for some reason now, I'm really into it. I've always loved the meaning, but could never get into it.
I can't stop listening to it now for some reason. I think I now officially don't dislike any Boston song. : )
I both love and hate this song. I love it because it is one the most brilliantly composed songs I've ever heard. The composition and sound fit the song's mood incredibly well. I hate it because the words reek of angry, false, Liberally-Biased, extremist sentiments. "De-Evolution of the Human Race","Evacuate to Outer Space", "Global Extinction's Forever?" Give Me A Break. Just because Corporate Corruption is a bad abuse of Capitalist privilege doesn't mean it's the cause of the apocalypse.
And then what' the cause? We now experience global poverty and money loss because of capitalism...maybe bad managed capitalism, and then? that's the evidence. It was not me or you just the big businessmen and owner did that. Something more to say mate?
What else could be the cause of the apocalypse? :P Maybe not yet, but I can easily see the future sucking because people will be willing to do anything to make money.
I don't know... I just can't get into this song. Don't get me wrong, Boston is my favorite band, and it sounds great, and I love the meaning, I totally agree. But... I just go to Boston to feel happy, and I don't get a great happy vibe from this song. It's wonderfully written and what not, I just can't get into it as much as their "happy" music. :P
Does anyone have any idea why Boston isnt in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Cant believe they havent been inducted yet....that my friends is a tragedy
Don't fret because Foreigner hasn't been inducted into the bogus HOF either..another crime. But then again neither has Heart, Boston, Bad Co and many others.
And yet the overrated Blondie is in there...unreal.
Your right I like Foreigner and Bad Co. I just looked on the HOF website to see who all was on there. There are some that arent as well known as Boston and other bands. I don't get it. With Brad Delp gone now, I don't know if Boston will get in or not because I just don't see them coming out with new material with Michael Sweet, or Tommy Decarlo, even though I respect these guys. I'd love for Tom to bring Fran Cosmo back into the mix. Thanks for your comment
the crowd which was so excited they drowned out the 2 opening bands chanting 'we want boston', was silent during corporate america because no one knew the song, it was a total surprise
A wonderful glimpse into the genius that is Tom Scholz. I think it's absolutely hilarious that Tom is wearing a Soviet Union tee shirt while recording a song called Corporate America!! You rock, Tom!!
Brad is AWESOME and greatly missed. I wish that Fran would have stayed with Boston. I think Tommy Decarlo sounds alot like Brad, but there will only be ONE BRad delp. Brad I hope you have found peace. Rock on Boston
Also, this was a hard song to find - Couldn't find on Itunes, couldn't find it while searching in Morpheus. Luckily I found out my dad had the CD, so I was in luck.
I find it hilarious, when I read some review of 70 and 80's rock and they describe Boston as 'corporate rock'. Anyone who knows Tom Scholz's history, could tell you he is about as far as it gets from the corporate mold. I believe his label sued him for not pumping out albums fast enough - they lost and it takes him years to make a record.
Fran Cosmos is the one singing those high notes... Delp doesn't hit the high note till the last 10 seconds when both of them hit the high note at the same time.
yah those betles, Rolling stones, hendrix, ccr, the who, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Greenday, Megadeth, bon jovi, Bob Dylan, Niel young, Rush, and other stupid political bands should shut up
hey v you keep your nose where it belongs musicians can write what ever they want, the songs are there feelings put in the song besides boston only made this like this so it's a little change and change is good.
Someone could upload this video in HD. 720p at least.

I was fortunate enough to see Boston back in 94 or 95 on their Livin For You tour, with both Brad and Fran - what a show... we miss you, Brad.

I find it hilarious, when I read some review of 70 and 80's rock and they describe Boston as 'corporate rock'. Anyone who knows Tom Scholz's history, could tell you he is about as far as it gets from the corporate mold. I believe his label sued him for not pumping out albums fast enough - they lost and it takes him years to make a record.

it is very different from their older stuff but i still like it

I think it's a pretty good song, this is probably one of their last best with Brad Delp. In my opinion.

i love this band, and i tend to not care about lyrical meanings, but this caught my ear. i don't like the political feel.
this is the best song on this album in my opinion. has that Sholz thing to the chorus riff, lots of power.

As if Tom Scholz didn't make a boatload of dough from "Corporate America". Now that he has his, screw everybody else. Notice the "CCCP" shirt?

i always thought the woman was singing this song, guess not. brad delp can sing those high notes good..great song
truemetalist89 3 years ago 2
Fran Cosmos is the one singing those high notes... Delp doesn't hit the high note till the last 10 seconds when both of them hit the high note at the same time.

you know whats funny...
people say kurt cobain copied the smells like teen spirit riff from more than a feeling...
it seems that the drum line from the solo of this song is inspired of the drumline of the solo of smells like teen spirit...
just a thought...

Brad was really looking like Kris Kristofferson here. (Oh, sorry, no one here is old enough to know who that is!)

Tom is a great musician, but he as all musicians should keep their politics to themselves, unless they run for office...
andrewdick 3 years ago
yah those betles, Rolling stones, hendrix, ccr, the who, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Greenday, Megadeth, bon jovi, Bob Dylan, Niel young, Rush, and other stupid political bands should shut up
vantrifan 3 years ago
hey v you keep your nose where it belongs musicians can write what ever they want, the songs are there feelings put in the song besides boston only made this like this so it's a little change and change is good.
bottom line shut up (and those are good bands)
