My Tika (blue cream tortoiseshell) was the same way, I couldn't keep a collar on her though because she so smart about it! I had it on her fairly loose (3 fingers) so that she wouldn't get caught and choke, and she used the edge of a cardboard box to catch it and pull it off! Cats are so smart :p
my abys are indoor cats so they dont wear collars... they are microchiped though... but yeh I bet they would do just that if I tried putting one on them
my guy freaked when i put a collar on him once too, but in this video it looks like the collar's on too tight and he's choking - thats why he's always licking his chops like that. poor guy!
amazingly he is quite easy to get the harness on now and he's pretty good about it. After 5-10 minutes, A.D.D. kicks in and he's back to playing. The collar is now a cat toy (undone).
My Abby about that age got both his feet caught in the collar doing that, we were on vacation, damaged both of his leg joints...never has worn a collar since.
That's a shame.... We only tried the collar on Monkey the one time and took it off after he almost smoked his head on the brick fireplace trying to get it off. We may try a proper harness if we can ever get him sedated enough to get it on him.....
The cat I had as a child tried jumping through his collar the first time we put it on him. Very cute!

LOL. Cats will not wear anything. Not sweaters, not collars. Not even a single innocent potato chip on the head. ^_^

Ummm, the collar is on pretty loose (the only time he's ever had it on too). I was able to get 3 fingers underneath the collar with room to spare
