  • and appreciation for ART! that our creator has given us to express any way we see fit.

  • Our creator wishes for us to express our self's through mind, body and soul. when we are born we are given a fresh mind, body and soul. it is up to us to fill them with what we learn, like , love, and desire. we were born with a blank canvas for us to paint a picture of how we perceive our self's to look, act, and behave. our creator wishes to see how WE perceive life. we are merely recorders for data in God's files. Tattoo's are a visual statement of our inner artist and our love...

  • I just got my first tattoo, it wasn't anythin bad it was a phoenix on my arm with phoenix'05 and i got it for my 6 year old brother. I believe tattoo's are a way to express yourself or feelings for others as i have myself. I believe that body modifications do not change your character. I did it because i wanted him to know that i am willing to go through any pain for him. I love my tattoo and plan on getting more for others i love. I believe also people shouldn't be judgemental.

  • I personally believe getting tats can become obsessive, like when you see people tatoo their entire bodies, it must turn into some sort of addiction. The passage in the Bible (lev 19:28) is speaking specifically about a heathen/pagan practice of cutting/marking ones body to honor the dead, it's a form of necromancy. In my personal opinion getting a tat cuz you like the look of it & marking your body as part of a pagan ritual are two different things. That's just my personal opinion.

  • I feel so sad when I see Tattoos. My doughter has a little rose anbd my son a panther, but i feel sorry for them and wished they did not take the mark.

Warning ADOLF HITLER and TATTOOS have the same number 660. So, it MUST be EVIL.

Tell me Scutter, am I wrong ?

  • @AVIVAH4EVER You are wrong...thought christians weren't supposed to judge..

  • @NoFair0nez It also says we can't put gashes in our skin, meaning we can't have ear piercings. If you read all of Leviticus it also says we cannot wear clothes of different materials.

  • Despite what the crazy fundies say, I doubt that God will condemn someone into eternal Hellfire just for having a skull tattoo on your arm.

  • i have that chain around my right arm as well, what does it mean? also i did here that there was other scripture concerning tattoos, do you know them. if however we do live by this law then it also tells us not to cut our hair or beard corrrect?

  • a tattoo is a form of expression that is neither a sin or wrong in any way. the old testament, in my opinion, should not be used for arguing terms because it's the new testament and the coming of Christ which defines our faith. i honestly don't know much about the bible, but having tattoo in no way shapes the person you are. it instead reveals a part of you that you find important.

  • I am christian and i have 13 tattoos and they all have meaning and I thought my body needed decorating.

  • if you get a tatoo in 10-15 years its gonna smear and look like shit

  • yes i love tattoos i do them and i am trin to open a shop ..... i have 22 of them and have been told that i would not make it into heaven cuz i have tattoos pearcins and a hawk . i look at it like this u decorate a church to make it look go or more appelin so i tattoo my self so i like the way i look its appelin 2 me and many other people and how can anyone say that u wont get into heaven with tattoos there not god and it said not 2 tattoo or cut ur body 4 the dead not that u could not have the

  • I think tattoos are amazing! I dont know why people bitch and gripe about it. Let people express themselves. I have full sleeves, chest piece, and a jersey. I am who I am. If you hate me for it, than thats your loss. If you like me, than you like me. I aint gonna change for anybody.

  • There are mulitudes of good reasons not to get tattoos, as you mentioned, but the main reason ought to be because the Bible says not too. in my opinion you will not go to hell but you will just look like you just came from there. Some are cute and most are ugly and oh so permanent. Now there is a Church of Tattoo and Body art. These clowns say God speaks thru the tats. Great.... another demon, idol, god, small g and false religion. I love you anyway, man don't get anymore tats..In jesus Name :)

  • well having a tattoo is a sin yes and we go to heaven cuz were saved by christ. not by the sins we do. plus we sin on a daily basis usally so getting a tattoo shuldnt been any more harmful the like cussing or hitting someone . god still forgives but dislikes wat we have done. im only 14 but i grew up in a christian home soo yeah.

  • That line you read from Leviticus sounded more like it meant "do not hurt yourself as a way of mourning" because that's what some Pagans would do (and Christians don't want to do anything that came from the Pagans *cough*christmas trees*cough*.

Anyways, this is all that comes to mind for me about how people feel about tattoos and those who have them: "The difference between people with tattoos and people without them is people with tattoos don't care if you don't have any tattoos."

    Cheers.

  • Centuries and melliniums ago, people wore tattoos as part of their spirituality and reverance of THEIR God. Our God asks us not to defile the vessel or temple. I have no problem with others having tattoos but I associate them with secular conformance and paganism. When I see tattoos on folks, I always wonder what was missing in their lives at that time that predisposed them to defile their God given body. Just my thoughts. Kelly theoriginalkman

  • You just read God's Word on the subject. I do not understand why anybody else gets a vote! Tattooing was a way to identify slaves. Perhaps that is why we are cautioned against such practice.

I don't judge those who have them, but if the question is, as a Christian, "would I get one?" then the answer is one of obedience - even if I like the look of them.

Jesus did not abolish the Law of God. He fulfilled it. BIG difference.

Just my opinion. No offense intended to anyone.

    God Bless!

  • Are you saying Christians Cant get tatoos??]

  • Romans 12:2 (New International Version)

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

  • The answers to your questions is in the video titled Tatoos what's behind the ink?

    By worshipping Jesus.

Sorry I do not know how to submit that video to you (I am not high tech!)

If I were you I would have those tatoos removed.

God loves you so much and the tatoos displease Him. In the scriptures NT it says that our bodies are temple. Please let me know if you intend to watch the video I just mentioned. It is in 2 parts. May the Lord bless you. Remeber He forgives us if we repent.

  • @sachaban - Thank you for recommending the videos and I agree with what they said.

Tatoos do give a negative connotation. Also on a personal note, I find tatoos tacky-looking and unattractive on anyone. If a person got a tatoo before they were Christians, well okay, but Christians shouldn't get them after coming to Christ because to do so is one more act of following after the world when we're suppose to be separate.

  • One should not walk under the law, above the law but should walk with the law....for HIS law was NEVER done away with nor did Yahshua ever come to do away with it, HE came to refresh it and will once again real soon since people have yet to get it right to walk with the law not below it or above it.

As for tattoos, I do not nor will I have them, my husband does of myself and our four childrens names in hearts on his shoulder blade but all I ever thought was HE did not have them. Shalom

  • I have 4 tats and I'm in the process of having them all removed, thats just my personal choice though. Luckily there are some men out there who will not judge a woman by her tattoos. I despise the way some men replied to this video almost as if they have the perfect idea of what a woman should be. And I have a feeling that the men who did reply that way are nieve individuals who haven't had much mental turmoil in their lives in the past. I cannot speak for all of the men who responded that way

  • "do not cut gashes in your flesh when some one dies, or tattoos."

    "when some one dies"

Perfect example of people taking something out of context. Your body is a temple. Most temples have decorations, paintings, ect. Tattoos, done with correct precautions, is not harmful to the body, and simply decorations for the temple of God. Type of Tat could make it sinful, such as satanic or evil things.

  • I say go for it scutter

as long as it isnt offensive or gang related

  • Just my personal opinion: On men, if they aren't grossly visible, I don't have a problem with them. Of course gang tatts are very objectionable.

On women, I think that they look trashy, and very unfeminine. I went to wedding a few weeks ago, and since the style is to have bare shoulders and arms, we saw many tatts on these ladies in formal wear. It completely ruined the natural beauty of these women.

But, I don't think it's sinful to get a tattoo.

  • Its not up to me to control what other people do. But concerning me, I don't want one. I don't find them attractive on women either.

  • Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I [am] the LORD.

But this has not been testimonies twice as is the law of Yahweh as the commandments and the dietary laws were for only in two mens testimony are truth established Testimony.

This is why Christ selected 12 and recorded all their names in Matthew 10:2-4, may these lessons I share with you fall not on hardened heart or blind eyes.

  • Bible says(look it up yourself, bible .com word search, easy)dont mark your bodies with ink as the heathen does.oh you read it.cant argue with that.other scriptures also,(nobody can judge others, only YAHWEH)heathen means pagan.how about xmas trees, heathen does that,YAHWEH commands us not to,even churchs have xmas trees.our society is far from our ELOHIM.we all r murders, allowing abortions to become big business.dont give your children over to mollak(for prosperity)YAHWEH command.

  • I dont care for that much of tattoos but if they have it covered in public I am fine with that

  • i love tats. would love one but don't have the money. i think they make for great conversation starters, especially your cross tat. i think some people do take it overboard but it's there body

  • My belief is your body is the temple of God. So, I have zero. Keeping it clean. But to each their own.

  • don't really know what I think about it.

  • I considered getting a tatto but it seems like everyone in the whole world has them. I've seen one or two that were actually cool to look at depending on how they're colored. Just don't care for 'em myself. Interesting vid. In old Jewish Law it is forbidden but it depends on how you interpret the New Covenant I guess.

  • I don't want to have a tattoo in my body, no way! I want to clean my body.

  • i hate tattoos so much.

  • I totally agree with you Scutter.... I have 5 tats...and I love God with all my heart!! My tats are on parts of my body that can be covered, so if I dont want someone to know... they never would know. But I have had people tell me that i need to have them removed, etc... I disagree. Thanks for this video, Brother. God Bless You. :o)

  • I don't mind tattoos, but I think Lev means what it says. Anything B.C. (before getting saved) doesn't count. The Books of the Law was given to us for a reason. I think the growing trend with tattoos is a sign of the times. It has always been a pagan ritual.

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

  • It's between you and God but I think the scripture is pretty clear. You can deny it or be agnostic if you wish.

  • I have tattoos. I'm not proud of them. But... Through Christ I am born again.

  • I was thinkin about gettin hair tattooed on my head :o) How ya doin brother? Your always in my prayers.

    Agape, donny

  • @donny71954 LOL, let me know if it works. I may follow suit. :o)

  • When I think of tatoos, I think of Leviticus 19:28 in the Old Testament. There's also a passage in the New Testament where Jesus says "by no means will one jot or title pass from the law until all is fulfilled". Though some say that only means until the time of Jesus's crucifixion, I've been asking myself lately if it actually means until ALL is fulfilled (the end of Revelation 22). But I have no tatoos and don't plan on getting any anytime soon, due to how I interpret those two passages.

  • I do believe it is a sin to get a tattoo. I do have one but did not know the scripture when I got it. I have asked for forgiveness and I would NEVER do it again. The ONLY sin that can't be forgiven is rejecting Jesus so if you're saved then you are forgiven. You just read the scripture yourself so you know it's wrong.

  • As for me...don't need them, don't want them. We were bought at a price. Our body belongs to Christ. Why would we do this to ourselves when we should be living for God, not for ourselves? Thanks for sharing :)

  • @joejumps4fun BTW I agree with your view points. I know lots of Christians w/ ink and I don't have a problem with it...as long as it doesn't become an idol or cause someone to sin.

  • Those are cool. I think that tattoo is a great reminder about important thoughts and feelings.

  • i agree i know other Christians who have had tattoos and they can still be believers in my book...some people are too religious as far as im concerned?...great message!

  • I like the one that says Heaven bound on your arm. I don't have any tats, but I have thought about getting one on occasion. I still think about it. Like putting the date that I was saved on my arm. that would be cool. But on the other hand, I am a big sissy when it comes to needles. plus I might be alergic to the ink or something. So I havent done it yet. My hubby has several and He is a christian. He's got wonderwomans face on his arm, and a few others too.

  • In regards to TATOOS, this videos are excellent!

    Enjoy!

  • I myself have though about getting a tattoo but I came to the conclusion that they may not be for me. It just seems to me the average person who gets one is looking for attention and for something to talk about. Its just the way I feel.

  • I don't have any tattoos but I probably will get some in the future. I don't think that Jesus minds if you get a tattoo just as long as you don't overdo it to the point where "your destroying your temple". Its the same as gluttony. God bless

  • Jesus Will Have Written on His Thigh King of Kings and Lord of Lords.. Im Sure its not Magic Marker.. lol Also Early Day Christians Tattoed Jesus Fish As A Secret Code to other believers in the Roman Empire Days when it was illegal to be Christian... I Have a Tattoo of Jesus on my left Upper Arm..

  • @donnie65301 Nice reply. :)

  • Tattoos in and of themselves are not intrinsically evil and do not violate the unchanging moral laws of God. Their message may be evil, their placement may be evil, their image may be evil, their intent may be evil; but the tattoo is not. Servicemembers routinely get "meat tags" with name, rank, social security number, blood type, drug allergy status and religious preference prominently on their body, others get Christian themed tattoos to express their faith undeniably while in Muslim lands...

  • I don't have a "Christian perspective". But, I think that God (should God exist) knows better than to hate and judge us as much as we already do ourselves.

Disliking tattoos is too stupid and human for me to ever believe it is the word of God.

  • I have several tats, and was thinking about getting another one. I love God, and the Bible

  • got ya a video response a comin', if will ever upload.

  • I think they are sinful, they are a act of rebellion!

  • @SAUNDERSacts2618 Jesus Christ was Thought to be a Act of Rebellion bye the Jewish Authority and your Point would be ???? lol

  • I don't mind tattoos. My husband has one. a very nice looking Tiger on his left upper arm area. (where your cross is). I also don't think that God cares one way or the other if we have them. Well, maybe he does if we wear one that says "Satan rules!!!". rofl. I am currently saving up for one myself... things that are keeping me from getting mine? cost, weight(where can I put it so it won't stretch, sad, or bag later?), & color (black fading to green is unappealing to me).

  • personally I have 5 tats and they all mean a lot to me...I love Jesus Christ! I dont believe it matters...my tats are memorial tats for close friends and relatives that have passed on as a reminder they are always with me...getting them was good therapy too! Thank you for your video...God bless!

  • @danielson923 I agree on the personal meaning of them. The cross I have was drawn specific for me by a friend of mine in NY. It's a one of a kind. And it serves as a reminder to me daily that Jesus paid an incredible price for me on that cross and I owe Him my all.

  • Don't have any tattoos, but not opposed to them. Plus no money for a tattoo, they can be quite expensive. I have plenty of scars though. Natural tattoos ftw!

  • good video and great points. One thing I couldnt do is body peircing. I absolutely hate the looks of stretched ears. I couldnt even bring my sself to get my ear peirced when it was popular. I didnt get my first tattoo til i was 29. And I put alot of thought into it.

  • @MYAR15SaysImFree I'm with you on the body piercing. That is where I tend to show my prejudice, where body art is concerned. I wouldn't dis-associate with someone just because they had piercings everywhere. But for me it's just something that I am not interested in for myself.

They guy who did my last tat had his tongue pierced and he kept talking and it kept clicking on his teeth and it about drove me insane. I thought, Im already in enough pain. Can we just not talk please. :o)

  • A tattoo is very permanent. But things change.

I know of men who have crosses on their body, and now they are Atheists.

I know of people who have their spouses name tattooed and now they are divorced.

My neighbor has cartoon character tattoos and now he looks silly at age 50.

Another neighbor is about 75 years old, his skin is wrinkled, and his tattoos are unrecognizeable. They look like green dirt on his arms.

Tattoos cost money. Not worth it.

Natural is beautiful. Kitch art is not.

  • Tatoos are like graffitty.

LOW-LIVES LOVE THEM. Low-lives are now becoming main-stream because most people have been in jail and the United States has become a third-world slithole.

  • @sinsarcasmo Wait...so anyone who has a tattoo is a LOW LIFE?

  • @scutter4christ

Has been there, and DONE THAT.

  • @sinsarcasmo So I just want to clarify. Are you directly calling me a low life?

  • @sinsarcasmo not all low lifes have tatts, and not all ppl who have tatts are low lifes, that is just being stereo typical. Like ppl who frown on guys with long hair. Jesus Christ had long hair. I have 2, one on my calf and one on my arm both can be covered easily, so if I dont want to show them I dont. But there is such a thong as going overboard.

  • @MYAR15SaysImFree

Not all lowlives have tatoos, but all lowlives have a tattoo that shows everybody else the low life he is.

Of course, you will defend your having tattoos Why waste my time..

  • @sinsarcasmo Yeah, ok, thanks for playing. Sinsarcasmo, your time here is finished. I don't need subscribers like you who berate and belittle others.

  • I shall ponder on this subject further.

  • This flesh body goes back to dust, so it doesn't matter. Just like long hair on a man does not matter. (that scripture is mis- translated by people all of the time) But my cousin died from hepatitis from a tattoo, so it can be dangerous. for people to say that you are not a Christian if you have a tattoo is like saying you can't be a Christian if you have a chicken on your head. lol My Dad had them all up his arms and always told me he was sorry he got them and suggested I didn't. Liz

  • @Lachance8 I'm gonna keep that in mind next time I wear my chicken on my head. :o)

  • @scutter4christ Lol :)

  • @scutter4christ HAHAHA!!

  • Hey Scutter, first time talking w you. I have a tat, eagle on arm. I too have thought about another. I think it is a vain thing. Heaven bound is for the Lord to decide. It is more of what kind of person you really are. what is your heart and soul. We are all sinners, a tat while not being the most virtuous thing to do, in of itself, wont condemn you. Yes, we are all saved by the blood of christ, Yeshua.

  • wearing a tattoo is like wearing a shirt... nothing to it.

Especially now in this day and age when they are completely mainstream...

some ink is cool, some is lame...

    -TEW

  • No tattoos on me,not that I don't like them.I never could get myself to make that type of a commitment or decide on what I wanted.

Many a friend has them and I don't look at a person any differently. No I don't think it makes a person any less of a Christian,I do think judging a person makes you less of a Christian.(or whatever religion you have)

    Just my thoughts...

    Truth~Peace~Love
