Utterly confused!? Pfft! My ass! While the plot was sort of lacking and kind of... predictable, I guess is the word I'm looking for, I still found it was a somewhat interesting take on some small part of Alice in Wonderland. Well, at least, part that and part the Jabberwocky poem.

Personally, I would've liked it better if it took more to the game American McGee's Alice. But that's just me.

I just saw Alice in Wonderland (2D) today. I went in expecting it to be NOTHING like the books, because that's what I've heard. I went in expecting good costuming and art, and Helena Bonnam-Carter with an inflated head.

It was ok.

I can see how going in expecting it to be even remotely like the books (Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass) would bring MUCH disappointment. Most people who liked the movie never read the books.

you raised an interesting fact. One that needs to be examined. Instead of saying movie "y" sold "x $ mIllion", we should in fact say "Z" people saw the movie on its opening week end." Reason being that ticket sales reports never take into account the rate of inflation. Inflation will garrenty that whatever we see next is " the highest grossing movie ever".

Inflation rates are normally taken into account. Plus they are often so discernible, that the yearly 2% or so won't really make a difference unless you compare with real oldies. If the film is any good it's most likely sold out on the opening weekend anyway I'd think.
