Depends. Absinthe originates from Switzerland originally. My understanding is that the best stuff comes from there and France. Most of the stuff I drink is from one of these two places. I guess it comes down to preference.
It tastes like liquorice because you prolly mixed it with pernod or snapps, anything pungent to cover up its pungent flavor. I was kinda dissapointed with the effects, I thought it was gonna get me high or something. anything you have to douse with sugar and water is prolly not worth buying
The licorice flavor comes from the anise that it is made with. The problem with absinthe is there are a lot of knock-offs out there that are worthless. Try some by the company "Jade" before totally writing it off... FANTASTIC! Thank you for checking us out and commenting.
They supposedly made it legal again in the states...but have probably laid a number of strictures on its manufacture. Have you found a way of standardizing the thujone content? This stuff really puts the liver through the wringer but my, oh my is it wonderful! I like the opalescence in the prepared drink. I've used Pernod to flavor the brew...liquorice taste and everything. Be well!
I've never had absinthe yet...I plan to try it sometime. I'm fond of absinthiana though (the absinthe-making rituals and inplements [spoons, glasses, etc.])
I do enjoy licorice...I actually have a list of liquors to try...Whiskey and beer and vodka all proved quite repulsive. Whiskey is just barely tolerable with coke (cola), while beer tastes of lighter fluid and urine (never mind how I can make that comparison)
I've found wine to be pleasant though...Not sure of rum yet, but it's next on the list if I can ever get the opportunity.
Cool shades... but ummm..... why do you need them? LOL jk. I love them where did you buy them? when you took them off....i thought that you had been crying... nothin wrong with that. where do you find you drink? It looks good! its wormwood used in spell and isn't it a drug?! LOL! OH MY GOD!!! are you trippin?? yum... black licorish(can't spell. sorry) y do i hear dog tags in the back ground? do you own a hell hound or somethin? oh my god!!!!!!!!!!! lololololololoLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL ROFL ROLF!!
I know that I should probably know this...but, ummmm..... who or what is RayBanz? Is it your cat's name? LOL! If so cool!! :) You will probably think this corny(not sure if spelled right :( ) but, believe it or not my cat's name is erik. Well, one of them anyway. :) Anyway I just found A new "phantom" takeoff it you are interested. Its called "Terror at the Opera". If you want to watch it I have the first one favorited on my channel. :) I think its weird but it is still cool!
LOL... I think it is spelled Ray Bans and they are pretty popular... check google. Not my name. I will try to check out the vid in the next day or two... work is killing me. :-(
phantomess, i'm not sure if wormwood is used in spells, but it is the name of a star supposed to crash to earth in the endtimes ;) Biblically speaking, of course, so I don't believe that. ;P
Hey, no problem hun, here's the way I think about it: If you're having fun with it go for it. I think it's awesome and it honestly shows a knack for imagination! ^_^ so all is well!!!!!
P.S> Sorry about the "hun" thing, it's a force of habit. . .
Yeah, I hear u there, but I'm fairly new at this stuff. I mean I have yet to post any videos, sadly, I should though, my friend is badgering me to post 1 of me singing from 'Phantom' but I won't for 2 reasons: 1. I'll make ears bleed and I'll be sued for ungodly amounts of money 2. I seriously doubt anyone would be interested.
This is all b/c a friend of mine got into a tiff with me saying I can sing, I feel I can't so she wanted the general public to deside for us, childish, right? lol ^_^
Ya know... that's what is great about YouTube... you can showcase a talent and let the world decide if you suck or not. Better to know than not... Give it a shot! I have a buddy Jared on here who has a video that I think is awesome. Good singer but doesn't really know it. I'll send it to you.
No, we don't actually make our own. But, I do know my stuff when it comes to absinthe. We have connections in Geneva and ship it in. We are currently sitting on approx 7-8 different types. My favorites are Jade's 1901 and Verte Suisse. You?
I definitly like all Jades, Nouvelle-Orléans has a place in my heart though, I don't know what it is, it's just great. Absinthe is hard to come by in Canada though. On my list to try next is the Opaline and Angélique from the Claude-Alain Bugnon distillery.
I have not tried the Nouvelle-Orléans yet... next order. We are starting to see bottles at the local spirits stores here in the States. They are the cheap versions, but supposedly we are not far out from getting some better types. I am putting together a website for Absinthe also... to help get the word out. Are you ordering yours online now?
You can actually get good absinthe from local US websites like DrinkupNY, I know that they have Nouvelle-Orléans, here in Canada we have to order through our provincial liquor boards.
I tried this stuff, I was curious. And I have to be you, I thought it was awful. But far be it me to deny anyone else...I thought it was so bad we ended just throwing the sugar cubes directly into it after a while. And I saw no fairies either. But it makes for good conversation.
That was the strangest looking spoon I have ever seen. And hey, don't knock 'concrete', I have consumed a beverage or two in my life where concrete factored in heavily. They weren't adult beverages and they had nothing to do with a 'dripping' process but.....nevermind.
Cool video. The mask looks lik eit fits you perfectly. did you have it made?
It's called the "Green Fairy" b/c of the green hue it takes on once mixed. That and from time to time you might see a "Green Fairy" after drinking too much... but, I don't know this from experience... :-)
Thanks for the props... please don't forget to rate and sub!
Oh, and sorry for the length of time since our last movie... been on vacation and sick! Plus we are working on a new project outside of MBI... looking forward to having it finished!

At first, I thought you were going to talk about Green Chartreuse.
Now, all I keep thinking about is The Absinthe Drinker aka L'Absinthe by Degas.
Being a city boy I never had the pleasure of tasting it. Perhaps one day.
