@Lynnphotos84 This is just an option (which many people prefer). If you want to shred your own coleslaw, of course I have a video for that, too. Just search for cabbage carrot salad with dressing. It's home-shredded coleslaw with homemade coleslaw dressing. I hope you understand that I need to meet the needs of a lot of different people, and therefore there will be a lot of cooking styles. Thanks for your comment!
Hi Betty, I just love all your recipes. I made the Cole slaw today and absolutely love it. It was so easy to make. Actually, I made the catfish fillet, hush puppies, and green beans too :). Thanks so much.
I love how you use low fat and low sugar ! Its all I will buy. I wish I could get more people to make the change. You have awesome recipe ideas and the cutest outfits. Maybe one day you will takes us through your closet for "Betty's must haves" .
Hi Stephanie! Thanks for your lovely comment! I use low fat/low sugar in all my cooking at home. I like to use it on youTube, but some people prefer the regular full fat and full sugar. I do a little for everyone... Thanks for your nice comment!
That is certainly different what with the Marshmallows, I would NEVER have thought of putting in Marshmallows. This is one I will have my boys making and if putting in a few Marshamallows encourages them to eat all the lovely veg then GREAT!
Another very nice budget minded but "fancy" recipe. I actually like the color the carrots put into it; and they are basically "sweet" vegetables. Very nice!
Yeah, you know coleslaw is always sweetened with something, and this is a nice, interesting way to make it just a little bit sweet. Thanks for asking!
Nicely done, thanks for sharing! I have been looking for another slaw recipe to serve at charity fund raisers I think this would be a very good alternative to offer!
oi wow Betty & Rick, this recipes what im searching long time ago...hehehe, finally you did it now---because this is what we buy in the grocery store (ready to eat) because its one of our favorite, now i can make my own...have so much different taste too but this is one of them..thankssss a lot--muah
I don't like the taste of mayo... can i sub' it out for thousand island...!?
...Or... what else would you recommend...!?
Athrun000 1 year ago
@Athrun000 Yes, thousand island is good, or you might choose plain yogurt with this recipe.

Doesn't it defeat the purpose of 'homemade coleslaw' if you have to buy the bag of 'coleslaw' at the store?

Yes, the marshmallows are a great trick in getting non-vegetable lovers to be encouraged to eat their veggies!
Nice to hear from you, Linda! I hope all is well,

Betty, I think that you should have a show on the Food Network, you are so good!
Paula Deen needs to beware of your show! We all need to send your name in to the show!

Hi Betty, Great recipe! What is the name of your food chopper and who is it by?
juanta6 2 years ago
The food chopper is by Black and Decker. It is just a basic model that you can get at a place like Wal*Mart.

The marshmallows provide the "sweet" taste--a nice alternative to sugar, but not too sweet! Thanks for your comment!
