My phone starts up faster than both of these. Does that mean it's more powerful? No. In fact, it's the opposite, soo... I guess that means the Alienware is better.
@xXFoRtEnDeRXx yeh you can upgrade the GPU and CPU on mac you just have to be more careful of what you put in it, I upgrade my macbook with a new Nvidia GPU and it was a whole lot easier than upgrading my windows desktop's GPU and CPU, I wouldn't dare try upgrade my windows laptop.

@Pintopinata how can you expect a mac mini to have better hardware than your computer? mac mini only cost 600, while your computer costs 1600$ or more, and the mac mini is only 7.7 inches square, and 1.4 inches thin, i have seen pc that are the quadruple size, and have only 1GB ram, very sucky processors, and less than 100GB of hard drive, and the mac mini has 500GB.

@ClipperProductions Actually I am able to do anything on Linux that I'm able to do on Windows or Mac. Except for gaming because that's still Windows only, very slowly moving over to both Mac/Linux. On the other side my Linux is both more secure and stable than Mac or Windows :3
normally mac is not that slow. i have a 1year old mac and is faster i think (my mac is as fast as my win7 hexa-core i7 12GB ram, dual-sli gtx580). it depends on the applications that requires initial processes i suppose

@MrArehammar the alienware has only been on for 15mins he said, so it prob was still doing after install updates. you have to use a laptop for a few hours after all the updates are done for it to reach optimum speed. as for the age difference, it dosnt matter how old it is. its the hardware inside, apple just puts shit in them and overprices is by like £600 to a windows laptop that is the same or better specifications, face it, apple sucks at making computers. stick to ipads and iphones /ipods.

@MrArehammar the alienware has only been on for 15mins he said, so it prob was still doing after install updates. you have to use a laptop for a few hours after all the updates are done for it to reach optimum speed. as for the age difference, it dosnt matter how old it is. its the hardware inside, apple just puts shit in them and overprices is by like £600 to a windows laptop that is the same or better specifications, face it, apple sucks at making computers. stick to ipads and iphones /ipods.

Its for games, the reason its so highly priced is because it has some powerful parts in it that make it almost better performance wise than other computers. You buy different things for different reasons. Although idk what benefits macs have over other good computers.

@HELLHamster16 im a mac user, but i wouldn't call myself a fanboy. i realise that macs are overpriced, but i also think they're better in some ways than pcs. the ui is better the os is better (this is of course all in my opinion) but macs do have a lot of flaws...i think the first thing any one who is looking to buy a good new laptop should consider is that neither platform works like its advertised, and that they should look for the best compromise.
