  • Cute experiment :0) Thanks for sharing. :0)

  • hey ladys and father.

  • I Have Black Wal nutsLol They Do Smell Wierd O-o

  • I think the squirrels might like the Wild Hickory Nuts better because of how the husk grows, it has four different layers around it and it's probably easier for the squirrels to get at then the other nuts which the squirrels either have to peel or break open.

  • I got nothing

  • Great!! I live in San Francisco, so we have a large variety of nuts....

  • What the FaQ xDD

  • omg

  • Thank you! We sure enjoyed the outdoor videos in the Summer now its just too cold!

  • I really like how your videos are always informative no matter what the topic. And the fact that you cover topics that are not overdone to death on Youtube. Keep it fresh and original. Once again an excellent post.

  • Thank you for your great comment. There is always something to talk about here!! Hope you have a great holiday!

  • Well five years ago we moved to New Jersey and so far we havent found any nuts around our house, but we hope to ! Awesome video and expiriment girls and Roland ! :-D

  • Probably more of those trees further west towards PA out in the country. Those black walnut trees grow pretty fast. Gotta go on a search for some black walnuts and plant them around your house.

  • Wow!! That is awsome! I wonder if those walnuts come in every tree around the states an contury! is that true?

  • Hey yall' are pretty good! I don't have very many videos AT ALL.

  • I like the video it was a good expereants great job ur videos r KOOL lol! :) :P =) =P

  • um why would we want to know this

  • Because they said they were sick and tired of making freaking scary videos. Its about time they make something educational. Thats what they used to be all about until they started making comedy videos and scary videos and Italian mafia crime drama videos. People like us were asking them to make a cooking video or something educational. Looks like they are nice enough to listen to their subscribers.

  • They have to be fair to everyone. They can't just cater to your video preferences. Can't please all of the people all of the time but you can please some of the people some of the time.

They make different videos for different people. They have pranks, horror, funny, special effects, cooking videos, safety videos, collaboration videos, How To videos, and educational videos. Why have a bunch of different channel types when they can make a variety right here.

  • KEWL!!!!!!!!

  • Black walnuts are so expensive!!!!

  • You guys are the best!!

  • i love this video and that squirrel is so cute i just want to hug and squeeze him!!!!

  • Sorry for the comments there All4tubekids. I am defending you since you have some ignorant people commenting your video. I think you are a first class man and a great father. Ignore those bastards.

Keep making those great videos. I gave up watching TV because youtube has more to offer and your contribution is very well appreciated.

  • Why are you asking this kind of question on a kids and family channel? I watched the entire video and I did not see anything inappropriate and I don't expect they would ever make anything other than pure genuine family friendly videos. Maybe you smell your breath backing up. Where has your mouth been last? Maybe you shouldn't answer that here being this is a family channel.

  • this was added on my b-day!!1lol

  • I always thought there was something about those green balls with the squirrels. There are a few trees near me that produce these balls and it is nice to know what they are.

  • Awesome! I see many walnut trees here. I like hazelnuts especially with a good cup of coffee.

  • dude! the only thing that smells like pedophilia is your stupid question. get a life. a video about kids and their dad outdoors teaching about trees and squirrels smells like pedophilia? ha ha

    mranimalabuser you are a loser.

  • I was wondering what this was about but saw its a reply. I agree with you.

  • I agree. I told the bastard his breath is what he is smelling. Looks like I should investigate this bastard.

  • I like pecan pie! do you have a good recipe for that?

  • MrAnimalAbuser, you are very ignorant. I did not see anything inappropriate in this video or any other videos produced on all4tubekids. Do you say that to every family that looks happy? I think you have issues with seeing happily functioning families. Whats the matter, did your daddy hate you? Are you jealous? All4tubekids dad is a great father and a good cop.

  • I enjoy watching your variety of videos from funny, scary, to educational. Keep on doing what you are doing. I will try to see what kind of trees I have near me. Its different weather and climate here than what it appears to be where you are.

  • awesome video as always also i had never heard of a black walnut before so I learned something new today :D thanks for the vid

  • kool

  • Kairi and I might try this experiment. I have a nut living in my house, its name is Kairi :)

  • I am going to bake a walnut cake tomorrow. I will be thinking of your video while I make the cake.

  • I love walnuts!!

  • Thank you!

  • cool videos say hi to sandy the sqiurrel for me

  • cool wheres your mom i wanna see her

  • can you make a behind the scenes video please

  • If we do we will post those on the all4tubekidz channel

  • ok thank you

  • lol squirrels pwn!!

    this video drove me nuts!!

  • Thanks! Yes this is nuts!!

  • Acorn Almond Beech Butternut Carpathian Black Walnut Chestnut English Walnut Hazelnut Heartnut Shagbark Hickory Shellbrak Hickory Pecan Pine Nut Those are some that I can think of that we have here in Pennsylvania!! Nice seeing a video for you girls and your dad!
  • Thank you for posting! You sure have a wide variety of nuts there!! We go to PA often, we visit Philly and of course love going to the Poconos, we have some family out in Allentown PA.

  • maybe we can send you some squirrels!!

  • Lovely vid. squirrels are always funny. 5 *****

  • They sure are and very smart too. I can't believe how great their mapping skills are. The squirrels have better senses of direction than all the GPS devices put together!!

  • wow your squirrels got some hugh nuts...lol

  • The sure do and they aren't shy either!! LOL

  • Great vid! You guys are lucky to have wild hickory and pecan nuts... mmmm yummy!! I just have those pesky Black Walnuts, and I don't even LIKE walnuts YUCK!!!

  • Thank you! They are so good with sweet potatoes with some cinnamon, sugar (I used Splenda), and some butter spray, I prefer the real sweet butter but I can't always have what I want anymore!! I went to a sorgum festival the other day and they were selling apple nut bread so now I have some baking plans for these variety of nuts.

  • Your videos rock!! I cant wait for another one

  • I love this video! I added it to my favorites!! That squirrel was cute =]

  • those black walnut die your fingers!! by the way can u do a halloween costume idea video thanks

  • They sure can, the dye from these black walnuts have been used for many applications including being the ink in the old feather pens made hundreds of years ago way before there were commercially produced ink pens. I am sure this would dye one's hair too. The dye is still being used today by many people.

  • So cute squirrels!! We dont see squirrels here everyday LOL!! Great video i really enjoy watching it :-) Oh i would love to post a video response of my experiment out here.Cool t-shirt at the end Brittany!

  • Thank you Pearl! Looking forward to your video response.

  • These nutty squirrels made a pile of nuts in my gutter!!

  • yeah its so cute

  • omg i have a wild hickory nut tree in front of my house and squirrels drop the nuts down the tree ALL THE TIME! there are shells all over my yard!!!!!

  • those squirrels go nuts over those wild hickory nuts!!

  • i love bracking those and looking inside

  • its pretty fun! also good to eat!!

  • yea!!

  • are they flying squirrels?

  • These ones are not the flying squirrels. The flying squirrels are mostly seen at night time, haven't really looked for them. I need to set up some infrared night vision and start looking.

  • I didn't know squirrels hid nuts in the ground, we have a squirrel in the back that will run on tree branches and jump from tree to tree, he has no fear. Great video!!!

  • Oh yes, its called scattered hoarding and they love to make sure that they have plenty of nuts in many places so when the time comes to eating them they can go right back to their hiding places. They scatter hoard and then they stock pile nuts in some of the most interesting places.

  • I am really enjoying these videos, I did not know that much about squirrels, thanks for posting them!!!

  • nice experiment. I would do this experiment where i live but we don't really have any nuts growing around here, unless you count conkers, but they aren't nuts really :)

  • Thanks! It was fun to see what the squirrels near us like the best. I agree with them, I thought the hickory nut was one of the better choices for flavor. I heard about those conkers, AKA horse chestnuts, I hear its a popular nut they use in the UK in a game.

  • we have bassicly the smae very few only out towd my dads friends house back in da woods

  • They love hanging around those hickory and walnut trees and even pine trees since the pine cones have pine nuts in them.

  • i have acorns and wallnuts :-) and i have a basketball hoop but theres a little opening in it and theres a squirrel that always goes over and puts its nuts in it lol

  • Those squirrels sure get creative with their nut hoarding! I am amazed when I see the places they hide nuts.

  • that "black stuff" from the black walnut stain your fingers...trust me..my hands we stained 4 like three weeks

  • yes, that is very true! we were using the black walnuts in their husk and we started coloring the bird bath since the paint was coming off. looks like the new black color will stay for a long time.

  • I have a bunch of pine trees on my land, so there's pine cones everywhere.

  • Thats good! If they are big pine cones you can get pine nuts from them also known as pignoli nuts and they taste great in cookie recipes, but some pine cones make small nuts that are not worth the time. You need to get them before the pine cone opens and drops the seeds. Squirrels know where to find pine nuts!

  • oh cool i didn't know that! thanks!

  • Awesome,cool experiment :>)

  • Thank you Giuseppe!! It was fun and we will try an experiment with birds next.

  • Hi Brittany, Brianna and Roland!

Can you roast the nuts and eat them?

I like walnuts. No squirrels here. :(

  • Hi Huy,

You could roast them, I like them roasted myself. Roasting them seems to bring out more flavor. I like them in pumpkin bread, and banana bread. The black walnut flavor is much stronger than the English walnut that is mostly found in the stores.

  • i have a question

  • Thanks Bill!! Better watch out for big hungry squirrels!! LOL. I think I might qualify for being nuts myself!!

  • That was great. Thanks for sharing.

We don´t have these kind of nuts in our area.

Pauline loves Squirrels. They are sooo cute. We can observe some Squirrels from the window. We live in the 3rd floor and the Autumn makes the trees "naked". There are a lot of Squirrels in the trees behind our house. Watching them is so much fun.

    :o)

  • aww brianna is looking older! I am going to america in a few weeks, I hope I can see a squirrel running around since they aren't in nz :]

  • Thank you Jade!! Hope you have a great time in the USA. We live near the east coast.

  • hahh!!

  • that was cool i like that did not no that they have all kinds of nuts

    ty for posting shaggyolsen

  • I discovered all these nuts about 3 weeks ago. These trees have always been here I just never noticed the variety of nuts.

  • that was a good and educational video, thanks for showing us that experiment.

around here people buy the shelled peanuts to feed the squirells, between houston galveston texas

  • Thank you! Its great exploring these outdoors. I never knew there was so much to see around here. These trees were right near me and I was never aware of the wide variety of nuts until a few weeks ago. I love cooking with organic and natural foods.

  • cool! we have black squirrels near us and flying squirrels but they dont really fly they glide down from the trees.

  • the squirrels here love the acorns. there are no walnut trees near me just a bunch of pine trees and oak trees.

  • Acorns.

  • This ws awesome! great experiment too :]

  • Thank you!!

  • lol! That is awsome! im gonna add it to my favess! ur cool

  • Thank you Ace!!

  • COOL!!!!

  • Thanks!!

  • I like penuts...

I always feed the chimpmunks at camping a whole huge bag or penuts for the winter... they love it!

  • Oh yes! peanuts are awesome. love them in the shells the best, peanut butter is my next best way to enjoy them. I think if I brought some peanuts out there they would grab them right out of my hands. The squirrels here seem like they are in a hurry to hoard all the nuts. Maybe this is a sign of an early winter coming.

  • I got them in my yard too. :P

  • I mean the First nuts lol

  • Excellent information in your video. Do you have flying squirrels there?

  • Guess what? Earl is back!! I am not kidding. He is delaying with squirrels and nuts!!

  • You attacked more squirrels with those hickory nuts. maybe earl is so nuts the squirrels chase him everywhere!!

  • omigosh Squirrels. Thats is so cool! In Australia you don't get squirrels you get Koalas and kangaroos! HAHAHA I LOVe this video! So cute!

  • I wish I had koalas and kangaroos :(

  • I love Kamgaroos you can come to America for a day and I could go to Australia for a day ready to switch places?LOL!

P.S.Did you ever see a kangaroo or do you just see them when like i dont when do you seem them do they live close to humans or far away lol?

  • those two are growing up :))

  • I really enjoyed your video. I will be showing the rest of my family. Its wonderful to see you interacting with wildlife and learning their habits and teaching other kids about the things you learn by experimenting.

  • Thank you!! Teaching has been one of my favorite professions. My kids enjoy exploring the outdoors.

  • I saw those trees at the park. did you know that Washington DC is the squirrel capital? i went there a few times and all you see are squirrels everywhere!

  • Yes! I have seen those squirrels, they are pretty well adjusted to people, especially the ones in NY. You can feed them right out of your hands.

  • what song is that and how did u get the squrriel on the screen are you using a green screen

  • That is Scheming Weasel Faster song by Kevin MacLeod. We used PaintShop Pro for the squirrels popping up on the screen.

  • thanks very much were could i find paintshop and the song

  • Y'all are awesome. i have those green balls all over my backyard and now i know what they are!

  • You should go collect them. You can sell them for about 10 dollars a LB and the stores can make 4 bucks a pound on your sale.

  • love it wow you have like 20 comments in three minitus you guys are famouse i will do a video respnse

  • I have had pet squirrel they also like apples, strawberries and carrots, flower buds, burrs and fox squirrels will eat meat!

  • Our hamsters seem to have the same eating habits as these squirrels, they love peanuts, they like to hide their food and make stock piles of it too. Yes those squirrels will eat what ever is mostly available for them. Since we have so many Hickories and Walnut trees they keep to the nut diet.

  • We even had a chipmunk climb way up a bigoak tree today and came back down with a mouthful of acorns!

  • I thought that the first fruit / food Briana picked up from the ground was a plum and they fell of a plum tree.

The sure do look alike. =)

  • When looking at them from far away they could resemble little pears but they sure don't smell like them and they turn black and messy. You can write on the sidewalk with the black walnuts and it will never wash off with plain water.

  • Thought it was gonna be another scary video but this was great to see a video like this for a change. keep up the good work!!!!

  • We will be doing another scary video before Halloween. We had some requests for a video like this so we did it. Others are welcomed to make a request.

  • AWESOME! you all rock! i love animals and i wish i had a pet squirrel

  • Thanks for the awesome comment! I have seen some really tamed squirrels out in the city but the ones here are not used to humans and tend to hand out in the nutty trees many acres from the house.

  • Cool, haha

  • Thank you Ilona!!

  • You are all so smart and know so much about your environment. I had no clue those were walnuts and I would never know the different between nuts that fall off the trees

  • Me too. i thought they were poisonous cuz they smelled really bad and they were killing the grass and nothing was growing where the balls were.

  • Thank you! You have to know much if you explore the outdoors and hike in the wilderness. You never know when you may need to rely on your outdoor survival skills. Its is also handy with this bad economy, never know when you will have to give up a house and take to the wilderness.

  • most of california where i live is like MAN made it seems, but we have tthose little tiny acorns, but we have crab apples i think

  • Yes, I have been there several times and it is mostly landscaped by personal preference so nature itself has very little influence, just glad they at least landscape and plant trees instead of just removing the trees. That's the price to pay when the population increases and available land decreases.

  • yes, its an overcrowded area, i live central to San Diego, Long Beach, and Los Angeles so its Very crowded and poluted

  • i have some black walnuts

  • Those black walnuts are much more tastier than the English walnuts but the price in the store is about 14 dollars a pound so its best to get them from nature then paying so much money!

  • Great video!! those squirrels sure are smart. I was reading about them a few weeks ago. They have great mapping skills and remember landmarks and know exactly where to find their nuts.

  • Thank you! I agree. I have seen how they hid their nuts and I have seen the places they have hidden nuts and looks like the work of a professional.

  • That's pretty cool. I am smarter now :D

    Nice 5/5

  • nothing about squirrels drive me nuts! i love squirrels soo much xD
