To the top comments, the soundtrack from double agent was just as good. It was just a different style. The composer did a good job of capturing the essence of each level and in putting all the layers of the songs together, from the beat to the melodies. Also, they capture as well as Amon the feelings of mystery, suspense, and action. As I've said, it is just a different style.

Amon Tobin is one of those artists that from the beginning of the track you can tell they know exactly where they're going, no confusion. You know it's just gonna be sick. Once you've listened to at least three you've realised they're all gonna be good. This is music.

I played this to an acquaintance (no longer a friend) the other day and he was like "deep... are you an emo then?". No I just don't find appeal in cheap commercialised art lacking any real emotion or feeling.

I think the part from 0:42 to 1:11 sounds better when the quitar keeps the same melody rather than stopping and going off on some random strumming session like it does in the album version. I agree. The album version builds very slowly so that by the time you get to the violence part you have to work to keep from pissing yourself. I think the omission of the extra sounds makes for a minimalistic (if I may sound pretentious for a moment) and at the same time more impactful tune.

This one sound rather kitchy by comparison. Like it should be on an ESL compilation. Not that I don't like Thievery Corp or Ursula 1000. Just saying.
