can i use the screw extractors without the need of a drill machine? I have this one particular problem and i don't want to waste money on a electronic drill. Meaning can i use the power of my hands on removing the screws with the extractor?! please reply as soon as possible. i really need the help!!!!
I used one of these bits, and now I can't get the screw off the bit. What should I do? It is really embeded in there. Should I try hitting it with a hammer?
Try holding the screw in a vise and turn the drill on turning to the right or oposite from the way the extractor bit works. It should release it's hold on the screw.
no dont induce any vibration into your hard drive. you could damage delicate internal parts. this set should work and craftsman offers verry small screw extractor sets for a small ammount of cash. just get your drill out and take the hd down to sears and show and ask them what tools you need. they should set you up good luck
omfg, i have that exact same problem!!! the screws on the back of there are so fucking tight!!!! but i think this should work...if the bits are small enough that is..
What would you suggest for a torx head that was stripped because it was in very tightly, and its expected to be very tight for safety? I have one that is stripped and its a T47 Torx bolt.
Tim, what is the brand of the exact reverse drill bit used in this video? I'm trying to find a place online where I can buy some but none of them look like these ones. I really need to know the exact brand used here.
if you have a dremel, just cut a straight line through the middle of the screw and use a flathead screwdriver to unscrew them, thats what I did for the black ones on the bottom
@WalkinfGish Take a normal S2 Bit an scharpen counterclockwise the edges. Remove a bit of the piont of these bit,so that it can go deeper into the screw. Then put this bit back into the bitholder and put this bit into the damaged screw.
Turn it slowly counter clockwise. (It works better as this thing.) I´ve worked with this bit and it is great.

That is absolutely true, except they're not very affordable. 3 of those cost more than a 15 piece drill bit set. And I need one that will extract a #0 Philips from a recessed hole. Guess I'll have to make my own
Is there a need to drill a pilot hole first? Most of the screw extractors I see online have that step, but your video went right to using the extractor. Where is the extractor you used available from?
If the screw is a Phillips, the answer is no. Flatheads possibly. That was the unique design feature - no need to drill a hole in most cases. I got mine from Sears.
I have a broken bolt in my car that got stuck inside. I drilled a hole in it and tried to drill the whole bolt out but it just made the hole larger. Can this extractor help me? its a hardened bolt for car suspension
I got mine from Sears. I would imagine you could do a search on the Internet and find *many*. I saw ads for them on my own page at my website where I have the video.
so many times this was needed.. Yet I don't have one

I was wondering, what the actual name of the set is called from sears?
I have a LCD TV and my stand can't come out because of my stripped screw.
Any ideas for me?
Thanks!
