to put this to rest, you know how you can get like, 178 stars with that hack that gives you all the stars, most people dismiss that as an error in the hacked coding, but really its just LITERALLY giving you ALL the stars, so there are about that many in the game, just some arent used

Actally, there is ONE way to get Luigi. on toads tool, if you go to the texture editor, click texture 656, go to the resize mario panel and type "L is real", all your textures will change to make mario look EXACTLY like luigi! (it sounds stupid, but t really works!)

@krisish00d they were not placed in game but you can get more than 120 shines if you use cheat code called "have all 120 stars" yoshi on roof of castle unlock cannon but no fat penguin and you can get the secret stars again the maximum amount of stars u can get is 132!! someone made a video called "all 121 stars?!" he used the cheat code

@PhatStudent2 well actually the lost levels were only lost in america it was the true super mario brothers 2 in japan while the american super mario brothers 2 in japan is Koji Kondo (or something) Doki Doki Panic ... so my guess is that super mario 64 the lost levels would be more a successor then a game download/ add on.

these things are that is differenct from the mario 63:

1. the jungle tileset

2. the amount of shine sprites, star coins and stars

3. you unlock cannon when having not just 1 shine sprite left

4. there are no cheats

5. there are not just yoshi's island, super mario galaxy 2d and mario luigi: superstar saga and mario luigi superstar saga type enemies

I know how to play as luigi (it's a hack that makes all the colors luigi colors and makes Mario taller) what you do is go into tt64 texture editor, select the texture for the plaque under the star statue and in Mario size, you type in "L is real" without the quotation marks. Luigi is not unlockable from the actual game

@TheMattMan2012 Luigi is unlockable in the game without cheat or hacks.In the place with Boos,sooner or later,you'll see a Boo with a special item.It will bring you to a Boo place then inside the book room there will be a ! item Box then you will get a power Flower to puff up like a balloon then fly up then go in the door then go in the Luigi door then find and defeat King Boo then you will get the Luigi Key...It works in Super Mario 64 DS.

@SuperKirlia If you download super Mario 64 and an n64 emulator and do that and you will find that there is no king boo to defeat in super Mario 64. Super Mario 64 is for the n64 and super Mario 64 ds is for the nds. Nintendo was going to make luigi an unlockable character in super Mario 64 for the n64, but for some reason it just didn't happen.

In Super Mario Galaxy, you CAN Play as Luigi, just get all the stars and save, then go to the main menu and choose your last save and there will be a *Mario Face* -> *Luigi face* in the upper right hand corner. Choose it and you will play as Luigi, who can, Jump Higher, Run faster, and jump farther than his bro.
