  • Great song. Brings back memories of my teen days in the long ago. And my teenage queen who went away. But she never came back to me.

  • I absolutely love this song and have since I first heard it in the1950s. I saw that great movie Walk the LIne and was annoyed this song didn't feature. Thank you so much

  • Eventually she sold all her fame to go back to the boy from the candy store because amid it all she was unhappy without him ~ beautiful.....but..!

  • so much better than the shit singers make today !!!

  • This is amazingg

  • Let me be your teenage queen! =D (en natuurlijk ook de knapste die je ooit hebt gezien :)

  • Let me be your teenage queen! =D

  • i've seen a lot of different opinions about johnny cash but please he's the greatest compositor you've ever seen. Beatles or queen could never design a more fantastic piece of music than "Other boys could offer more but she loved the boy next door hwo worked at the candy store"

  • We were blessed to have his great songs to make life a bit more "agreeable"..They sure don't make them like Johnny,Waylon, Marty Robbins ...anymore do they?

  • The great great Johnny Cash.....with her marvellous wife,June Carter

  • @thefrisquette u know he had anotha wife who wasnt recognised! what about her??

  • @mirr1111 Well if the movie is to be believed his first wife Vivienne, didn't support his musical ambitions at all.

  • @mirr1111 :WHO???

  • 4 people are reatrded....like seriously

  • @MrClassicrock85 make that 5

  • A Johnny Cash GREAT this one

  • Yep, this old WV hill billy lost her when I went in the AF in 1962, but little sisters grow up and we have lived happily since 1966. Thanks for the memories and posting this when the artist would sing and not scream.

  • Added to my favorites.

  • When songs told a story and singers could sing,

    not scream.

  • Johnny Cash he was the man, playin' in a three man band. Every where he played his songs, people waited three blocks long. Just to hear the songs he played, Teenage Queen, and Ira Hayes. Ring of Fire, and Walk the Line, tap your feet, and keepin' time. Johnny Cash he was the man, playin' in a three man band. Every one they knew the songs, Everybody sang along. Flat top box, the Alamo, I knew them all, I loved um so. Johnny Cash he was the man, and now he sings in heavens band.
  • One of my favorite songs =)

  • The first #1 Country & Western song by "The Man in Black" in the Rock Era. It was the twenty-third #1 C&W song in the Rock Era. Johnny Cash would soon become a breakout star on the Country Music scene.

  • Johnny du warst der beste

  • ´Mazin tune! Teenage Queen is a killer C&W song. Check out my bros cover... Youtube search: James T Bravo

  • @whitmerdude no, Johnny Cash was the first

  • @keithjas Thanks for the update; makes me feel better to know it was done right the first time. This song gives me goosebumps.

  • @whitmerdude Johnny recorded this in 1958 way before Rodney Crowell,BTW he's a great singer also. It was on both charts Country and R&R.

  • My dad was a farmer. We'd order parts, they'd come in on the bus. The depot was in an old Café that had a Wurlitzer jukebox in the corner. Dad would give me a dime, I'd play that song. . Thought I was in heaven.

  • @TheStubbleking Cool how a not so fasinating story can actually be fasinating :)

  • I was in foxhole in 66 and the man I was with told me about the Teen Age Queen from Scotsbluff Neb. His name was Bill and he was all Marine and in love with the Teen Age Queen.

  • he looks great

  • I think this is the best version of this song. Look at how happy Cash is!! I was in love with that girl incidentally

  • he's happy. he's yellow and he's in love what else does he need? hey i also love the girl described in the song, take away the candy store and you have it (:

  • A great hit. I have a fine version of this song with Johnny Cash, Jun Carter Cash and The Everly Brothers. Also a fantastic version of this song.

  • So have I. On a comp. cd. I think. Good version.

  • Brilliant, clever, unique composition, and one of Cash's finest recordings. So lightweight and yet so beautifully crafted. Reputed to be Mick Jagger's favourite song and recording. Why isn't it universally known? Make it the backing track of a commercial ad, someone!

  • I love this song!

  • This song is what music should be about. Love between a man and a woman. The ending makes this one of the best songs from the past.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • 100% AGREEMENT...I wore this record out!!!

Wayne in Texas....I'll be at the candy store!

  • This is truly one of the greatest songs Johnny Cash wrote.

  • It was not written by Johnny, it was written by Jack Clement.

  • And thank God we have Johnny doing this live...it doesn't get any better than this!!!

Wayne in Texas....dream on, dream on....

  • I like how they use to mic the acoustic guitars back then. It made them sound more real than the plug ins that so many people use to day. Only a couple of times do I see an acoustic guitar miked these days which is sad because I like the punch of a miked acoustic.

  • one of his most underrated songs, by far.

  • God must be... Johnny Cash.

  • he died september 12, 2003... i don't know when this record with rosanne was made. she also cut tennessee flat top box
