rambo is a reference in war hero type of movies or games, metal gear for example.. and again goldsmith made this epic thanks to the amazing presence his compositions carry.
I miss Jerry Goldsmith's work - I wish he was still here. Today's composers, like Horner & Zimmer, don't come close to him. Jerry did wonderful work no matter how big - or small - the scene. Just listen to the tracks he composed on his films' smaller scenes - beautiful, incisive; they could lift a minor scene to something major. "Lord Zimmer" doesn't even do entire films - he uses assistants. And just listen to the self-plagiarims of Horner - even on AVATAR he ripped off STAR TREK.
A man goes in to battle and by the grace of God comes out in one piece. But forever more he is changed. And he always carrys it with him, along with a strange sense of guilt.
yeah i never got what he was saying but you know the way stallone talks with that slur he kinda made me giggle and cry all at the same time, when hes like "my friend, hes ALL over me! hes sayin take me home and im like I CANT FIND YOUR LEEGS MAN!" or something like that.
That's not sad...it just means you loved the movie and you feel for the character. People like Rambo had it rough during the Vietnam days and like he said, he comes back into the world and people treat him like garbage for doing his duty in the name of God and country.
i love the main theme, its beautiful and haunting and really captures the Rambo of the first movie (which is different from the rambo of the sequels who is a hardass killing machine). but i do NOT love that cornyass 80's song at the end that uses the same music. its SO cheesy. good lyrics but man, whoever sung it should be shot.
Nothing is over! Nothing! You just don't turn it off! It wasn't my war! You asked me, I didn't ask you! And I did what I had to do to win! But somebody wouldn't let us win!
also while hes screaming all this, i mean i hate to say it but i kinda giggled a bit cuz of the way stallone sounded when he talked, he kinda sounded and looked like my dad when he gets mad LOL.
'Well I'm your friend MiyagiDoKarate...I was there with you knee deep in all them blood and guts. I covered your ass more than once...seems like bailing you out of trouble's becoming to be a lifetime job for me."
"I could have killed 'em all, I could kill you. In town you're the law, out here it's me. Don't push it. Don't push it or I'll give you a war you won't believe. Let it go. Let it go."
Stupid Town sheriffs, they think their police training can match the training of the Green Berets. Besides, Will Teasle drew first blood. Rambo just wanted something to eat, no law against that.
LOL yeah this part at end was unexpected. i just recently saw the first rambo and wow, i was surprised how tortured rambos character was, at the end especially. i really felt for him ya know? and ppl seemed to treat him like shit and he wasnt the bad guy!

The sad thing is I have memorized most of the film's dialogue.
'Nothing is over... you just can't turn it off!'

Dude, he was quoting the movie.
"I could have killed 'em all, I could kill you. In town you're the law, out here it's me. Don't push it. Don't push it or I'll give you a war you won't believe. Let it go. Let it go."
