  • whats the background?

  • "you can wear your furr like a river on a fire, but you BETTER BE SURE if your makin GOD a lyer" damnnnnnnnnnnn this song is ta-hittttttttttttttttte

  • i heard this like r8193489128 months ago and then I heard it on Chuck earlier today and i was like "OMG I KNOW THIS SONG!" haha :)

  • 8193489128 months ago = 682790760 years and 8 months.

This was the tail end of the Precambrian era. I checked wikipedia and I don't think Blitzen Trapper had written that song, gotten together, or even been born at that time. However, Wikipedia is often wrong so I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe your story.

  • @windex007 why okay smart ass. i bet you have lots of friends.

  • @condiersea I have 8193489128 friends.

  • @windex007 im not the person who made that comment about knowing this band for soo long. but dont try to one up everyone please. i knew this kid who would always do that. no one liked him.

  • @condiersea Well I know this person who goes on YouTube calling people out and generally being a player hater for the sake of being a player hater. Nobody likes them either.

  • @windex007 oh really. you know them personally? and all they do is call people out? you know that for a fact thats all they do? just shut up. and youre one to talk about calling people out.

  • @condiersea We were just talking about people we know, don't take it so personally. Do you know them too? Is that what this is about? Do you think maybe we know each other in real life? ... Are you asking me out on a date? Cause if you are my answer is yes.

  • @windex007 lmao youre an idiot

  • I love this band! I have to admit that they did play on twilight but I guess thats what happens after a while. Your favorite band does something you hate. They are still good though.

  • @mansfieldbp

yeah, alot of good bands were on those shitty teenie bopper soundtracks

Grizzly Bear, BRMC, Bon Iver ...

  • "We settled down upon a farm and raised our children up as gently as we pleased."

  • heard this on chuck. love it.

  • I've never ever ever ever heard of this band before!

I just clicked on it 'cause it was a suggestion on the homepage. And all I have to say is BRILLIANT! Thank you YouTube Suggestions =]

  • Anybody have any info on that background? Love it and would like to know the artist.

    Thanks!

  • Hey, I did a little poking around with fairly minimal luck. I've found what I believe to be an earlier incarnation of this picture (basically this picture without the sepia effect) on a few Asian language websites (filled to the brim with weird fetish stuff...), being unable to read the language kinda a dead end. What I did find was a deviant art 'artist' who used part of the picture for a signature. They probably could help you track down the artist. Their account name is: ~yuushibari

  • love the background

  • very nice

  • For a second I thought you guys were saying that this song had BEEN IN Twilight. I was mortified! I thought, "Crap. Another great band sold out." I was going to be grouchy all day and kick any teenager that dared to cross my path...but then I learned to READ. (And now I feel better.)

  • I dunno about Twilight, but this song was on the TV show "Chuck."

  • you should probably still kick the teenagers... surely they deserve it...

  • I don't think being apart of twilight is selling out at all. I'm not saying twilight is a good movie, but everyone can agree that both twilight and new moon have great sound tracks, and has brought a lot of notice to smaller great bands who deserve to be heard. If anything, being apart of that is an incredible way to get your music out there and also encourages people to find out more about bands they might not have ever discovered.

  • I used to think like that too but then how does a band change just because more people listen to them. It kind of starts to sound like people want to be selfish and keep it to themselves and when more people hear them, they call them sell outs.

  • msopy: I'm not being selfish. I am reacting from years of seeing bands get a little too radio-ready, their given chunk of cash, and then suddenly their music loses it's beauty/soul/relevance. As for the comment above you by "thingsgobrown, " the Twilight franchise taints everything it touches. Nothing says poser like being featured on one of their soundtracks.

  • ...they're given*

  • @msopy

Well, people can start to get power hungry with all the money they start making. They want to keep it going so they change to what they think will keep their fan base and money rolling in. Then before you know it they've lost that original spark that made them great in the first place.

To me selling out is changing yourself to gain approval of people.

It's kind of illogical. You want a band to stay special to you, but they can't keep doing what they're doing without becoming popular

  • i totally understand that aspect of it. But I think it is immature to scrap a band you like because it was in a twilight(i dont know how this twilight thing started) movie or associated with some image that you don't want to associate with. This is a great song and i dont understand why people come on here and get their piss hot if someone mentions twilight or calls people sellouts. Why dont people just enjoy it.

  • They can if they suck...

  • *sigh* One day I'll look up a song I like without people relating it to Twilight :(

    Lovely song though.

  • look whether u associate this with twilight or not, i dont care I JUST LOVE THIS SONG =]

  • dido

  • I think Furr is a huge step up from Wild Mountain Nation - really hope they keep going down that path. Fantastic vid - great imagery for a great tune.

  • Agreed! Furr is an outstanding record! Hope to see more like it fom this band.

  • I've just discovered this band, and I've got to say that they definitely have that certain spark I was looking for. Incredible!

  • dude, you listen to music cuz you like it, not cuz you just wana say you heard it first, thats retarded.

  • right on sun

  • i was being sarcastic. everyone calm down.

  • i LOVE this son.

  • folk-rock

  • Not probably the best for Chuck I'd say the best SARAH song... probably a tie with Do You Believe In Love by Huey Lewis...

  • Chuck rocks (especially Sarah). I was surfing the forums and came across "Best Song from Chuck" and this was on alot of people's lists..and i can see(hear) why! =) Good song choice!

  • oh god xD,,

    Nvm, ignore me.

  • Someone recomended it and said it fit the werewolves, and I think it does, but I still think it's an awsome song that doesn't have anything in common with Twilight!

  • who gives a fuck what genre it is

  • because i only listen to alternative indie pop lock and drop it music with a little bit of folk and if i found out this was mainstream i would probably have to rip out my ears and kill myself.

  • if its both mainstream and good, whats to stop you?

  • i hope everyone knows that i was kidding....haha i thought that i made this comment sound so stupid that everyone would realize that its sarcasm. i mean really what is "pop lock and drop it" music?

  • he your are funny want to be firends

  • i'd call this folk, not alternative country-rock

    lmao

  • yeah blitzen trapper is definitely alt country

  • well this song sounds more like folk, like bob dylan

i havent heard any other songs XD

  • yeah, I hear more indie-folk than anything.

    doesn't really matter, I guess.

    it's good.

  • Awesome song for an awesome tv show !

Impatient to see the 3rd season ...

  • Who plays harmonica?

  • Chuck OST!!! Great song for a wonderful episode on Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and her past. Thanks NBC for this "awesome" series and please keep it on

  • Heard this song on the radio yesterday. Love it. I don't normally listen to this type of music, but my tastes are very diverse, so I'm not surprised I like it. If anyone has any similar recommendations, please let me know. :)

  • Matt Costa, Bishop Allen, Iron and Wine, Bon Iver...

  • cant go wrong with the shins!

  • Que maravilla, es preciosa!!

  • I remember this on Chuck :)

PLEASE watch it every Monday 8 pm ET on NBC

it's a really good show and they might take it off.

and when they do you'll be regretting missing such a great show =)

PLEASE WATCH IT AND GIVE IT A TRY! :D

  • green [:

  • AHH!! THAT'S WHERE I HEARD IT FROM!

i was going crazy trying to remember where I heard this when I was in American Eagle. THANKS!

  • haha no probs :D

  • I totally eat this shit up.

I for one find it particularly brilliant.

  • when I first heard the song I thought it was Simon & Garfunkel, but it sounds like a mix between them and Dylan,

kinda reminds me of the shins aswell :)

  • I love this kind of music.. it reminds me of the type of music from the 60's/70's , for example Simon and Garfunkle.

I wish there was more music like this getting into mainstream music.. I'm fed up of this rap/pop shit we listen to day in day out.

    Emma, 16.

  • Some people say 'real music' isn't being made anymore, that the entire art form has, apparently, died on the unforgiving treadmill of consumerism. Some people haven't heard this song.

  • august burns red

    =real music ;)

  • i wouldnt expect to see august burns red brought up in a blitzen trapper convorsation lol...

im in love with both of those bands though

  • kinda sounds like dylan and i like it

  • i love this song, blitzen trapper rules!! xD

  • this is an awesome song. they played it on NBC's Chuck s02e10. if you don't watch that show, u should check it out :D

  • win

  • Cool song!

  • Great :)
