Recession is typical in an economic cycle. However, the federal reserve runs the economy in this country, and the president trys to set his agenda. Bush has failed to curb spending like he should, and the legislature in both parties, has got to curb the dollars they throw around.
To blame one party over the other is hard to swallow cuz power changed republicans. Democrats just want to keep spending and spending for programs that don't do anything. A war on poverty has been going on for over half a century, and the trillions of dollars spent on it have done nothing. Better allocation of money is needed, and useless programs eliminated. Build the dollar into a stronger currency, and stop throwing money away. That will fix broken or useless social programs.
Yeah, money does need to be spent smarter, not on wars that are impossible to win, that Republicans get us into. Iraq, Vietnam... Do you honestly think we can win? We are merely angering the entire region. And what happened to us was because of our years of operations in other countries, and support of certain countries (Israel). Actually he aims to pay these spendings with corporate and dividends tax and decrease the tax for low and middle class. He will actually decrease taxes for 95% more americans than McCain.

I'm fine with the war, we need to show the world that we aren't going to take it and do nothing. You show weakness and indecision, you get hit like we did. Death is a constant, so skip that. Recession is typical in an economic cycle. However, the federal reserve runs the economy in this country, and the president trys to set his agenda. Bush has failed to curb spending like he should, and the legislature in both parties, has got to curb the dollars they throw around.

To blame one party over the other is hard to swallow cuz power changed republicans. Democrats just want to keep spending and spending for programs that don't do anything. A war on poverty has been going on for over half a century, and the trillions of dollars spent on it have done nothing. Better allocation of money is needed, and useless programs eliminated. Build the dollar into a stronger currency, and stop throwing money away. That will fix broken or useless social programs.

Yeah, money does need to be spent smarter, not on wars that are impossible to win, that Republicans get us into. Iraq, Vietnam... Do you honestly think we can win? We are merely angering the entire region. And what happened to us was because of our years of operations in other countries, and support of certain countries (Israel). Iraq didn't attack us, our 'buddys' over in Egypt and Saudi Arabia did. What do you mean piss away my education? Obama wants to spend more on education, not wars.

For that reason we should have stayed out of WWII as well. We didn't have to get involved with Europe, and we didn't send troops until the last 4 years of the war. We shouldn't have given aid to either side like we did before we got pulled into the war. Alliances and doctrine have dictated how we respond to threats to our security. Yes we can win, we win by allowing the choice of democracy instead of tyranny.

Also, people over there, Muslims don't look at country first, they look at religion first. Being a fanatic then doesn't mean anything from where you are. They are messed up, and their theological idiology is the cause. It's an irrational enemy. By pissing away your education, it was asking what choice would you want to take. Obama wants to spend a lot of money on a lot of things. All of which would lead to higher taxes for everyone, poor, middle class, and rich alike. Don't think otherwise.

Actually he aims to pay these spendings with corporate and dividends tax and decrease the tax for low and middle class. He will actually decrease taxes for 95% more americans than McCain.
This will stimulate the economy and help small businesses.
Obama will help everybody, McCain will only help the rich.

Your state's problems are caused by your state legislature, not McCain. My state blew a 2.4 billion dollar surplus in under 2 years, and overrode a veto for a 6 billion dollar tax increase.

Every state has problems, and it's the state's government that needs to be fixed. Instead of asking for handouts all the damn time, maybe the states should become introspective and fix the problems that they crreated. Like I stated, my state, MN, decided to override a veto and add 6 billion more to taxes cuz the crappy systems needed more money.

McCain is 1 of 100 senators. He can't move mountains all by himself. Your state should elect a state government that can legislate wisely. I looked at your state and federal government, and it's close to a 50% split. I don't know how loyal to the party they are, but maybe power has corrupted many instead of few. My state has 6 republican incumbants that might get beat in the state primary for being RINOs.

Regan is probably the most over-rated president of all time. He increased the debt, increased the size of government and the economy did just as good under him as under Carter
These past 50 years, the country has seen the biggest growth in economy during democratic presidents, the biggest debt increase under republicans and the largest job increase under the same

before you make a statement like that look up the facts reagan cut the taxes from 70% to 30% it was the largest tax cut in history and he also as promised substantially reduced federal taxes, spending, and regulation, and significantly increase the military budget. he cut tax rates. and Total tax revenues climbed by 99.4 percent during the 1980s (reagan years) and personal income tax revenues climbed, increasing by more than 54 percent by 1989 (28 percent after adjusting for inflation).
