No one complained because the neighbors were like "well, bitch probably left the kitchen for too long" Besides.. its sound, ppl could knock on door and be like "hey turn down the volume on that movie your watching, we trying to sleep"
to be honest in my neighbor hood i woulldnt stop this if i seen it. I would call the cops or something. Girls around here are crazy, as soon as you try to help their hitting and scratching you for touching their abusive boyfriend who most likely sells drugs and thinks hes a gansta.
but when i kow the peopel i get involved. like i have an asshole uncle who treats his "babys-mama" like shit (theyre both over 40 too SMH) and ill step in and stop him. why shes still with him ill never know
This very accurately depicts social psychological phenomena such as "diffusion of responsibility," inability to determine appropriate response and avoidance of involvement.
Kind of odd and unfortunate that these responses are considered normative...
I just think so many people are schocked and feel bad about hearing something like that, maybe the boy-friend won't experience immediate consequences but I am pretty sure he won't be getting any job offers from people living there, etc This kind of stuff traumatizes listeners as well, I bet that guy will find sympathy hard goin from now on, he will probably be shunned
ok i get all this and feel for every single women bu i feel like people need to know that men are abused to it may not as common as women but IT HAPPENS ! just wanted to bring your attention to it , as it is also a very serious matter
@PrinceOfPerelandra also, you gotta realize that only she can save herself. you wont fix shit talking to her. or him. even if you get rid of him via violence, shell go to him or similar. only they can fix it. ever notice women w/ bad mates ALWAYS GET BAD MATES?
@gillettecrackers There's nothing "petty" about men who are victims of abuse by women. The idea of men abusing women has been repeated to death over the past few decades while the reverse still prompts knee-jerk reactions like yours; it's time to think different.
@codykonior hes saying its a petty difference faggot. by saying codys petty, hes referring to that cody is nitpicking you little anally abused step child.
Women aren't the only victims. I'm willing to bet the same number of men are killed by their wives each year. Nation, remember the story about the lady cutting off her husbands penis?
@8teen0rolder Of course not. You see, it is widely believed that we live in a society where only women can be beaten and only men can get good jobs. It will take time before we realize the TRUE differences between men and women and appreciate each gender for what it really is, not for what society makes it. Until then, only women can be subject to spousal abuse.

I broke up a domestic fight that had spilled onto the street a few years ago and the bitch tried to stab me after I'd stopped her boyfriend from kicking her skull in.
Now I'm of the opinion fuck you and your problems, you want help? ASK FOR FUCKING HELP! don't bitch at other people for not doing something that you should do your fucking self!
That being said, nobody called the cops ? really!? I know alot of cops are giant assholes but NOBODY thought "I better call this shit in?"
Sadly, this is all too common around the world, even here is the U.S. in our "white rich suburbs". It's a social dynamic called the bystander effect or Genovese syndrome. When people are witnessing a crime, they are less likely to respond, wanting to pass the buck. They think, "oh, someone else will do something! I don't want to get involved..." They won't even call the police! Search Youtube for "The Bystander Effect" It's a very common effect that ends up letting women get killed.
@PrinceOfPerelandra annnd they didn't call the police why??? cuz that sure as hell doesn't put them in any danger and is easy to do. It does not make perfect sense and is not acceptable.

Lmfao, you really think that the dude drummed only once? Obviously it was a repeat offense. This domestic violence thing probably happened once...and they are probably only showing the first night it happened. Now, I'm not saying that beating your wife is right but lets think this through. This isn't a double-blind controlled experiment...it's a propaganda AD meant to raise awareness of domestic violence and make a point.
@usrname468 ...no it isn't "irrelevant", many people are convinced from this ad the people of Johannesburg(or whatever development this is) don't "give a fuck." I also said that the goal of this ad is to bring awareness to the subject. I was making the point that people shouldn't get caught up in the ad but the message behind the ad...but thank you for replying to my comment.
2:07 ...what is "complaining" going to do? what are you suppose to do? go knock on the door and ask the guy to stop beating his wife? because clearly he's a reasonable man if he's doing something like that right? how do you know the neighbours weren't discussing what kind of action they were going to take? maybe they were calling the police? just things to consider...
I think they inadvertently gave the message that people are cowards. They don't mind going to talk to the drummer because he's just a guy playing the drums. I think most people (myself included) would be scared as shit to go confront someone who's obviously being violent.
@MrLabraid This^ You know that if they were in the same situation they would not be walking up to this mans house without some sort of weapon and even then what are you going to do? The wife or the child in my case would also never speak up because of that fear and I don't believe any of these people would. It is easier to say you will do something than do it.
@Darkgirlriki of course i know :) i was being sarcarstic reply to some fellow that don't know what this Ad about. try to find the user that i reply to, and see what's his reply :)
tht happend when i was in costa rica when i was staying at a hotel.. i freaked out and tried to get someone to help but the guy who owned it said "what happens between a couple is their own affair." i could not believe it.. she came out crying later tht night.. i think i was the only person tht asked if she was even ok and if anything had to be done about it. it was the most rediculous thing of my life.. soo this is just rediculous when NOT A FUCK IN HELL WAS GIVEN.
Ok, not trying to be a bitch or anything but it isn't the neighbors' problem most times. I am a woman and I personally know women in that situation, that get REALLY physical with their partners and THEY let the abuse happen and will even find excuses for their behavior. They don't need the police, they need psychologists and only after they accept they're being abused.
@leopardo35 They need both - police to prevent them from being beaten or killed by an abusive partner and a psychologist to help them to understand and break free from it. People who hear someone being beaten and do nothing are cowards.
@AudioVideoDisco06 Yeah, I am totally in favor of calling the police. My point is, most times, if the person abused is a woman and it's NOT HER who calls the police, she will most probably condone her partner by saying "I just made him lose his temper, that's all". I have seen that happen to a friend and she says she knows she should leave him but he keeps promising to change and she "melts". She'll simply ignore my comments if I tell her my opinion. I can't do anything else. She's a grown woman
@leopardo35 I knew people in this situation too. You can't force them to leave, as much as you might want them to. But, in this case of this video, people absolutely heard everything that was happening and did nothing. Exactly because of what you mentioned, I think people should assume, regardless, that she will not or cannot call the police and someone else needs to step in. I wonder - what would they have told themselves if they woke up the next day and found out a woman had been killed?
@AudioVideoDisco06 That's easy. They'll talk to any camera around saying they always heard them fighting but they never would've thought it would get that far. Same ol' shitty excuse.
If a man is willing to beat up his own wife, what is he willing to do to a complete stranger? That's why people aren't willing to go knock on the door.
@marblewonder I don't think that's necessarily true. People don't like to get involved. They also could have called the cops, which did not happen either, as evidenced by no one showing up at all...
So is the message that we should be allowed to drum whenever we want? Or that we should complain to a crazy guy? Either way this comparison is messed up, the guy wouldn't even come to the door, should we try to break in and escalate the situation? Also despite how loud they tried to make the screaming appear, I almost guarantee the drumming was quite a bit louder. Idk, this sends a good message but it is conveyed in a bad way.
@huhhhhhhhhhhhh09 how is it a messed up comparison?, people reacted to the loud drumming but no one did anything about the sounds of a woman getting beat up
someone should make an apartment, fake abusing a woman, and see if anyone says anything.. if you do this in 5 different complexes, it could provide pretty interesting results
Sadly enough, a very good friend of my family - a mother of two lovely boys, one of whom has been handicapped since birth - was a victim of abuse by her boyfriend. She was killed back in early 2004.
Even though both my maternal grandparents are gone, my mother hardly ever cries over them. But even after seven years without Nikki 9the woman in question), my mom still cries herself to sleep at night over the loss of her best friend.
this guy is an idiot?

tht happend when i was in costa rica when i was staying at a hotel.. i freaked out and tried to get someone to help but the guy who owned it said "what happens between a couple is their own affair." i could not believe it.. she came out crying later tht night.. i think i was the only person tht asked if she was even ok and if anything had to be done about it. it was the most rediculous thing of my life.. soo this is just rediculous when NOT A FUCK IN HELL WAS GIVEN.

Yes. nobody comes to help the supposed woman getting beat, BUT thats because everyone knows that she should have come back with that sandwich.

Reddel157 3 months ago in playlist Stuff Kevin Likes: Wednesday Dec 7th, 2011 (Start Here)
Ok, not trying to be a bitch or anything but it isn't the neighbors' problem most times. I am a woman and I personally know women in that situation, that get REALLY physical with their partners and THEY let the abuse happen and will even find excuses for their behavior. They don't need the police, they need psychologists and only after they accept they're being abused.

@leopardo35 ‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’
bgcorporation 3 months ago
@leopardo35 They need both - police to prevent them from being beaten or killed by an abusive partner and a psychologist to help them to understand and break free from it. People who hear someone being beaten and do nothing are cowards.
AudioVideoDisco06 3 months ago
@AudioVideoDisco06 Yeah, I am totally in favor of calling the police. My point is, most times, if the person abused is a woman and it's NOT HER who calls the police, she will most probably condone her partner by saying "I just made him lose his temper, that's all". I have seen that happen to a friend and she says she knows she should leave him but he keeps promising to change and she "melts". She'll simply ignore my comments if I tell her my opinion. I can't do anything else. She's a grown woman
leopardo35 3 months ago
@leopardo35 I knew people in this situation too. You can't force them to leave, as much as you might want them to. But, in this case of this video, people absolutely heard everything that was happening and did nothing. Exactly because of what you mentioned, I think people should assume, regardless, that she will not or cannot call the police and someone else needs to step in. I wonder - what would they have told themselves if they woke up the next day and found out a woman had been killed?
AudioVideoDisco06 3 months ago
@AudioVideoDisco06 That's easy. They'll talk to any camera around saying they always heard them fighting but they never would've thought it would get that far. Same ol' shitty excuse.

SkinnyDude03 3 months ago
If a man is willing to beat up his own wife, what is he willing to do to a complete stranger? That's why people aren't willing to go knock on the door.
marblewonder 3 months ago
@marblewonder I don't think that's necessarily true. People don't like to get involved. They also could have called the cops, which did not happen either, as evidenced by no one showing up at all...
AudioVideoDisco06 3 months ago
i woulda banged on the door with a loaded shot gun in my hand and probably shot him, that experiment is not cool bro.

Idk, this sends a good message but it is conveyed in a bad way.
huhhhhhhhhhhhh09 3 months ago in playlist Stuff Kevin Likes: Wednesday Dec 7th, 2011 (Start Here)
@huhhhhhhhhhhhh09 how is it a messed up comparison?, people reacted to the loud drumming but no one did anything about the sounds of a woman getting beat up

Maybe the problem was it was the same complex and thought the single guy playing his drums really loudly to be annoying was just watching a movie...?
C9R9D 3 months ago
someone should make an apartment, fake abusing a woman, and see if anyone says anything.. if you do this in 5 different complexes, it could provide pretty interesting results
