Recently I emailed the Academy of Motion Pictures and they released some video of his acceptance for best adapted screenplay for The French Connection. I remember it as an opulently-staged production, infinitely more lavish and spectacular than any rendition currently available on YouTube, and I think that visitors to this site would marvel at it. Come to think of it, Isaac Hayes was the first man to make BALD fashionable (not Michael Jordan). Hayes always went against the grain and tried new things. Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman (You're Sixteen - Ringo), Henry Mancini (Peter Gunn - Art of Noise), and Marvin Hamlisch (The Way We Were - Barbra Streisand) wrote more songs for more shows, stage and movies, that they each probably made four times the money Issac Hayes ever saw.

You need to research these names, if lived through the Sixties and Seventies you would know their names.

He wrote the Pink Panther theme and Peter Gunn theme, (you'd know it if you heard it), and the scores to over 100 movies and tv shows, was nominated for over 100 awards as well. There is another phenomenal moment in this Oscar show involving Issac Hayes. Isaac is in a super bad musical production performing Shaft with a bevy of beautiful black and white dancers popping out of the stage and ceiling and him being rolled out on stage--bare chested with big chains covering his big muscular chest.
