  • i winced so many times during this video "oh jeez hes gonna stall it". great control. bloody legend.

  • @joloway he's in a hang glider I'm sure he'd just glide back down

  • any chance of detailed photos? Excellent video. I'm sooo green with envy.

  • is that safe don,t like where the prop is

  • Surely it's safer than having a huge spinning disc in front of the pilot? Pete

  • Oops! I removed the last comment instead of replying- sorry!

  • Radbe Raket 120, 14HP, 23rd December 2006 (it's in the title!).

  • Oops, *Radne Raket*

  • engine date? hp?

  • i used to dream of making something just like this as a little kid glas someone did im definiatly going to make one homemade someone reply how many horsepower engine is needed for this probably just mostly has to have very tall gearing,

  • Good tip for you 1956ron- don't jump off a pier into water with a kite- someone might copy you and get hurt. Pot Kettle Black.

  • Pete, I love to watch this particular clip.Great control, great flight. This is what FLPHG is all about. Thanks, wes

  • that is damn cool, I love the spirit that it takes!! keep up the good work!

  • WOW Talk about living on the edge, at that height there's not much room for error!

  • Hello Ronnie, this unit isn't used any more and didn't have a mouth throttle, it had a kill switch to abort takeoff. Hang gliding is a dangerous sport, pilots should fly within their abilities. Pete

  • Have a look at YouTube User Waspyphil - he has a unit that has done 500+ hours with no major failures. Pete

  • Looks like way more power than a Mosquito, impressive.

  • It uses the same Radne engine as a Mosquito. It may appear more powerful because I convert speed to height with full power applied. Thanks for the comments. Pete

  • Thats just fantastic! Looks like its a lot of fun too. I'm so jealous.

  • What kind of wing is that? it looks exelent for powered flying.

  • It's a Wills Wing Eagle 164. Great under power, the handling is amazing.

  • awesome that looks like good fun, and a cool way to get around. how far could you get in it?

  • A five litre tanks would get me about 50 miles in still air or further if going downwind, less if upwind, it depends on groundspeed not airspeed.

  • Had my first flight in a doodlebugger yesterday great fun but boy are they noisey..The paramotor units seem to have effective silencers? your new unit has a Paramotor unit it seems is it quieter??

  • The first flight with the new unit was without an airbox, but it is still quieter than my Radne engined unit. I've uploaded a video of the new unit :-)

  • Hi Pete

    The video is great,

I've got a mozzie and I know the adrenalin buzz you get when flying this machine.you're keeping lots of speed on so I reckon you would have enough to wing it into wind if needed. You know what you need when it comes to speed.

As you say, there's hardley no wind so big deal if you did a cross wind landing. Good onya mate, take care, keep the spirit alive.

    Gazzglide

  • Makin me really jealous LOL, gota get my hands on one.

  • What engine do you have and what is your weight?

  • It is a Radne Raket 120cc 14HP. I weigh 75Kgs. The concept for this unit was lightweight, simple and comfortable. The next project is nearing completion, using a more powerful engine, watch this space....

  • XXCELLENT!!!

  • On that day I had plenty of airspeed, wheels on the basebar, a massive airfield and hardly any wind. I have a good amount of confidence in the engine, if it fails I'm in a much better position to make an emergency landing than almost any other aircraft. And you're right- brilliant fun! Pete

  • Fun. But altitude is your friend.
