An essential step prior to paint or powder coat. I learned the hard way, as within a year of having my rims powder coated I was getting small pits and veins of rust beneath the coating.
This product is Phosphoric acid, Sulfuric would stink really bad. Hydrochloric would smoke and damage metal. You can buy plain Phosphoric from a chemical supply house. They are using this product on very mild flash rust which removes really easy. Phoshoric acid for 75 Percent is usually 10.00 15.00 gallon for much stronger than this.
@Trendyrapslut I've never really liked rust dissolvers, but I'm equiped for sandblast so I could be biased. The rust dissolver is probably sulfuric acid. It usually leave a yellowish residue I don't like.
@Veikra I'm pretty sure it's phosphoric acid and it didn't stink really bad like snakeoil says it would. but yea, i spent so much time and baking soda. trying to figure out how to get rid of the residue because just rinsing it off wouldn't do it.
This stuff is over rated! Surface rust really? U can easily take that off with a scotch bright, water n vinegar, n its a lot safer. I got suckered in 2 purchasing an over price bottle!
